1 Y diwrnod hwnnw rhoddodd y Brenin Ahasferus du375? Haman, gelyn yr Iddewon, i'r Frenhines Esther; a daeth Mordecai i u373?ydd y brenin, oherwydd yr oedd Esther wedi dweud wrtho pa berthynas oedd ef iddi.
1On that day hath the king Ahasuerus given to Esther the queen the house of Haman, adversary of the Jews, and Mordecai hath come in before the king, for Esther hath declared what he [is] to her,
2 Yna tynnodd y brenin ei fodrwy, a gymerodd yn l oddi ar Haman, a'i rhoi i Mordecai. Rhoddodd Esther du375? Haman yng ngofal Mordecai.
2and the king turneth aside his signet, that he hath caused to pass away from Haman, and giveth it to Mordecai, and Esther setteth Mordecai over the house of Haman.
3 Unwaith eto apeliodd Esther at y brenin a syrthio wrth ei draed. Wylodd ac erfyn arno rwystro'r drygioni a gynllwynodd Haman yr Agagiad yn erbyn yr Iddewon.
3And Esther addeth, and speaketh before the king, and falleth before his feet, and weepeth, and maketh supplication to him, to cause the evil of Haman the Agagite to pass away, and his device that he had devised against the Jews;
4 Estynnodd y brenin ei deyrnwialen aur at Esther, a chododd hithau a sefyll o'i flaen a dweud,
4and the king holdeth out to Esther the golden sceptre, and Esther riseth, and standeth before the king,
5 "Os gwl y brenin yn dda, ac os cefais ffafr ganddo, a bod y mater yn dderbyniol ganddo, a minnau yn ei foddhau, anfoned wu375?s i alw'n l y llythyrau a ysgrifennodd Haman fab Hammedatha yr Agagiad gyda'r bwriad o ddifa'r Iddewon sydd ym mhob un o daleithiau'r brenin.
5and saith, `If to the king [it be] good, and if I have found grace before him, and the thing hath been right before the king, and I [be] good in his eyes, let it be written to bring back the letters — a device of Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite — that he wrote to destroy the Jews who [are] in all provinces of the king,
6 Sut y gallaf edrych ar y trybini sy'n dod ar fy mhobl? Sut y gallaf oddef gweld dinistr fy nghenedl?"
6for how do I endure when I have looked on the evil that doth find my people? and how do I endure when I have looked on the destruction of my kindred?`
7 Yna dywedodd y Brenin Ahasferus wrth y Frenhines Esther a Mordecai'r Iddew, "Yr wyf wedi rhoi tu375? Haman i Esther, a chrogwyd yntau ar grocbren am iddo ymosod ar yr Iddewon.
7And the king Ahasuerus saith to Esther the queen, and to Mordecai the Jew, `Lo, the house of Haman I have given to Esther, and him they have hanged on the tree, because that he put forth his hand on the Jews,
8 Yn awr ysgrifennwch chwi fel y mynnoch ynglu375?n 'r Iddewon yn fy enw i, a selio'r ddogfen 'r sl frenhinol, oherwydd ni ellir newid gwu375?s a ysgrifennwyd yn enw'r brenin ac a seliwyd 'r sl frenhinol."
8and ye, write ye for the Jews, as [it is] good in your eyes, in the name of the king, and seal with the signet of the king — for the writing that is written in the name of the king, and sealed with the signet of the king, there is none to turn back.`
9 Yna, ar y trydydd dydd ar hugain o'r trydydd mis, sef Sifan, galwyd ynghyd ysgrifenyddion y brenin. Ysgrifennwyd, yn union fel y gorchmynnodd Mordecai, at yr Iddewon, at bendefigion, rheolwyr a thywysogion y taleithiau o India i Ethiopia, cant dau ddeg a saith o daleithiau, pob talaith yn ei hysgrifen ei hun a phob cenedl yn ei hiaith ei hun, ac at yr Iddewon yn eu hysgrifen a'u hiaith hwythau.
9And the scribes of the king are called, at that time, in the third month — it [is] the month of Sivan — in the three and twentieth of it, and it is written, according to all that Mordecai hath commanded, unto the Jews, and unto the lieutenants, and the governors, and the heads of the provinces, that [are] from Hodu even unto Cush, seven and twenty and a hundred provinces — province and province according to its writing, and people and people according to its tongue, and unto the Jews according to their writing, and according to their tongue.
10 Ysgrifennwyd y wu375?s yn enw'r Brenin Ahasferus, a'i selio 'r sl frenhinol. Anfonwyd llythyrau gyda negeswyr yn marchogaeth ar feirch cyflym wedi eu magu yn stablau'r brenin.
10And he writeth in the name of the king Ahasuerus, and sealeth with the signet of the king, and sendeth letters by the hand of the runners with horses, riders of the dromedary, the mules, the young mares,
11 Ynddynt rhoddodd y brenin hawl i'r Iddewon oedd ym mhob dinas i ymgasglu a'u hamddiffyn eu hunain, ac i ddifa, lladd a dinistrio byddin unrhyw genedl neu dalaith a ymosodai arnynt, a'u plant a'u gwragedd, ac ysbeilio'u heiddo.
11that the king hath given to the Jews who [are] in every city and city, to be assembled, and to stand for their life, to cut off, to slay, and to destroy the whole force of the people and province who are distressing them, infants and women, and their spoil to seize.
12 Yr oeddent i wneud hyn trwy holl daleithiau'r Brenin Ahasferus ar ddiwrnod penodedig, y trydydd ar ddeg o'r deuddegfed mis, sef Adar.
12In one day, in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, on the thirteenth of the twelfth month — it [is] the month of Adar —
13 Yr oedd copi o'r wu375?s i'w anfon yn gyfraith i bob talaith, a'i ddangos i'r holl bobloedd, fel y byddai'r Iddewon yn barod y diwrnod hwnnw i ddial ar eu gelynion.
13a copy of the writing to be made law in every province and province is revealed to all the peoples, and for the Jews being ready at this day to be avenged of their enemies.
14 Felly aeth y negeswyr allan yn ddiymdroi, yn marchogaeth ar feirch cyflym y brenin; yr oeddent yn mynd ar frys ar orchymyn y brenin. Cyhoeddwyd y wu375?s hefyd yn Susan y brifddinas.
14The runners, riding on the dromedary, [and] the mules, have gone out, hastened and pressed by the word of the king, and the law hath been given in Shushan the palace.
15 Yna aeth Mordecai allan o u373?ydd y brenin mewn gwisg frenhinol o las a gwyn, a chyda choron fawr o aur, a mantell o liain main a phorffor; ac yr oedd dinas Susan yn orfoleddus.
15And Mordecai went out from before the king, in royal clothing of blue and white, and a great crown of gold, and a garment of fine linen and purple, and the city of Shushan hath rejoiced and been glad;
16 Daeth goleuni, llawenydd, hapusrwydd ac anrhydedd i ran yr Iddewon.
16to the Jews hath been light, and gladness, and joy, and honour,
17 Ym mhob talaith a dinas lle daeth gair a gorchymyn y brenin, yr oedd yr Iddewon yn gwledda ac yn cadw gu373?yl yn llawen a hapus. Ac yr oedd llawer o bobl y wlad yn honni mai Iddewon oeddent, am fod arnynt ofn yr Iddewon.
17and in every province and province, and in every city and city, the place where the word of the king, even his law, is coming, gladness and joy [are] to the Jews, a banquet, and a good day; and many of the peoples of the land are becoming Jews, for a fear of the Jews hath fallen upon them.
