Genesis

15

1 Wedi'r pethau hyn, daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at Abram mewn gweledigaeth, a dweud, "Nac ofna, Abram, myfi yw dy darian; bydd dy wobr yn fawr iawn."
1After these things hath the word of Jehovah been unto Abram in a vision, saying, `Fear not, Abram, I [am] a shield to thee, thy reward [is] exceeding great.`
2 Ond dywedodd Abram, "O Arglwydd DDUW, beth a roddi i mi, oherwydd rwy'n para'n ddi-blant, ac etifedd fy nhu375? yw Eleasar o Ddamascus?"
2And Abram saith, `Lord Jehovah, what dost Thou give to me, and I am going childless? and an acquired son in my house is Demmesek Eliezer.`
3 Dywedodd Abram hefyd, "Edrych, nid wyt wedi rhoi epil i mi; a chaethwas o'm tu375? yw f'etifedd."
3And Abram saith, `Lo, to me Thou hast not given seed, and lo, a domestic doth heir me.`
4 Yna daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ato a dweud, "Nid hwn fydd d'etifedd; o'th gnawd dy hun y daw d'etifedd."
4And lo, the word of Jehovah [is] unto him, saying, `This [one] doth not heir thee; but he who cometh out from thy bowels, he doth heir thee;`
5 Aeth ag ef allan a dywedodd, "Edrych tua'r nefoedd, a rhifa'r sr os gelli." Yna dywedodd wrtho, "Felly y bydd dy ddisgynyddion."
5and He bringeth him out without, and saith, `Look attentively, I pray thee, towards the heavens, and count the stars, if thou art able to count them;` and He saith to him, `Thus is thy seed.`
6 Credodd Abram yn yr ARGLWYDD, a chyfrifodd yntau hyn yn gyfiawnder iddo.
6And he hath believed in Jehovah, and He reckoneth it to him — righteousness.
7 Yna dywedodd wrtho, "Myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD, a ddaeth  thi o Ur y Caldeaid, i roi'r wlad hon i ti i'w hetifeddu."
7And He saith unto him, `I [am] Jehovah who brought thee out from Ur of the Chaldees, to give to thee this land to possess it;`
8 Ond dywedodd ef, "O Arglwydd DDUW, sut y caf wybod yr etifeddaf hi?"
8and he saith, `Lord Jehovah, whereby do I know that I possess it?`
9 Dywedodd yntau wrtho, "Dwg imi heffer deirblwydd, gafr deirblwydd, hwrdd teirblwydd, turtur a chyw colomen."
9And He saith unto him, `Take for Me a heifer of three years, and a she-goat of three years, and a ram of three years, and a turtle-dove, and a young bird;`
10 Daeth 'r rhain i gyd ato, a'u hollti'n ddau a gosod y naill ddarn gyferbyn 'r llall; ond ni holltodd yr adar.
10and he taketh to him all these, and separateth them in the midst, and putteth each piece over against its fellow, but the bird he hath not divided;
11 A phan fyddai adar yn disgyn ar y cyrff byddai Abram yn eu hel i ffwrdd.
11and the ravenous birds come down upon the carcases, and Abram causeth them to turn back.
12 Fel yr oedd yr haul yn machlud, syrthiodd trymgwsg ar Abram; a dyna ddychryn a thywyllwch dudew yn dod arno.
12And the sun is about to go in, and deep sleep hath fallen upon Abram, and lo, a terror of great darkness is falling upon him;
13 Yna dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Abram, "Deall di i sicrwydd y bydd dy ddisgynyddion yn ddieithriaid mewn gwlad nad yw'n eiddo iddynt, ac yn gaethweision, ac fe'u cystuddir am bedwar can mlynedd;
13and He saith to Abram, `knowing — know that thy seed is a sojourner in a land not theirs, and they have served them, and they have afflicted them four hundred years,
14 ond dof barn ar y genedl y byddant yn ei gwasanaethu, ac wedi hynny dnt allan gyda meddiannau lawer.
14and the nation also whom they serve I judge, and after this they go out with great substance;
15 Ond byddi di dy hun farw mewn tangnefedd, ac fe'th gleddir mewn oedran teg.
15and thou — thou comest in unto thy fathers in peace; thou art buried in a good old age;
16 A dychwelant hwy yma yn y bedwaredd genhedlaeth; oherwydd ni chwblheir hyd hynny ddrygioni'r Amoriaid."
16and the fourth generation doth turn back hither, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.`
17 Yna wedi i'r haul fachlud, ac iddi dywyllu, ymddangosodd ffwrn yn mygu a ffagl fflamllyd yn symud rhwng y darnau hynny.
17And it cometh to pass — the sun hath gone in, and thick darkness hath been — and lo, a furnace of smoke, and a lamp of fire, which hath passed over between those pieces.
18 Y dydd hwnnw, gwnaeth yr ARGLWYDD gyfamod ag Abram a dweud: "I'th ddisgynyddion di y rhoddaf y wlad hon, o afon yr Aifft hyd yr afon fawr, afon Ewffrates."
18In that day hath Jehovah made with Abram a covenant, saying, `To thy seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Phrat,
19 Dyna wlad y Ceneaid, y Cenesiaid, y Cadmoniaid,
19with the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite,
20 yr Hethiaid, y Peresiaid, y Reffaimiaid,
20and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Rephaim,
21 yr Amoriaid, y Canaaneaid, y Girgasiaid, a'r Jebusiaid.
21and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.`
