1 Wedi'r pethau hyn, rhoddodd Duw brawf ar Abraham.
1And it cometh to pass after these things that God hath tried Abraham, and saith unto him, `Abraham;` and he saith, `Here [am] I.`
2 "Abraham," meddai wrtho, ac atebodd yntau, "Dyma fi." Yna dywedodd, "Cymer dy fab, dy unig fab Isaac, sy'n annwyl gennyt, a dos i wlad Moreia, ac offryma ef yno yn boethoffrwm ar y mynydd a ddangosaf iti."
2And He saith, `Take, I pray thee, thy son, thine only one, whom thou hast loved, even Isaac, and go for thyself unto the land of Moriah, and cause him to ascend there for a burnt-offering on one of the mountains of which I speak unto thee.`
3 Felly cododd Abraham yn fore, cyfrwyodd ei asyn, a chymryd dau lanc gydag ef, a'i fab Isaac; a holltodd goed i'r poethoffrwm, a chychwynnodd i'r lle y dywedodd Duw wrtho.
3And Abraham riseth early in the morning, and saddleth his ass, and taketh two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and he cleaveth the wood of the burnt-offering, and riseth and goeth unto the place of which God hath spoken to him.
4 Ar y trydydd dydd cododd Abraham ei olwg, a gwelodd y lle o hirbell.
4On the third day — Abraham lifteth up his eyes, and seeth the place from afar;
5 Yna dywedodd Abraham wrth ei lanciau, "Arhoswch chwi yma gyda'r asyn; mi af finnau a'r bachgen draw ac addoli, ac yna dychwelwn atoch."
5and Abraham saith unto his young men, `Remain by yourselves here with the ass, and I and the youth go yonder and worship, and turn back unto you.`
6 Cymerodd goed y poethoffrwm a'u gosod ar ei fab Isaac; a chymerodd y tn a'r gyllell yn ei law ei hun. Ac felly yr aethant ill dau ynghyd.
6And Abraham taketh the wood of the burnt-offering, and placeth on Isaac his son, and he taketh in his hand the fire, and the knife; and they go on both of them together.
7 Yna dywedodd Isaac wrth ei dad Abraham, "Fy nhad." Atebodd yntau, "Ie, fy mab?" Ac meddai Isaac, "Dyma'r tn a'r coed; ond ble mae oen y poethoffrwm?"
7And Isaac speaketh unto Abraham his father, and saith, `My father,` and he saith, `Here [am] I, my son.` And he saith, `Lo, the fire and the wood, and where the lamb for a burnt-offering?`
8 Dywedodd Abraham, "Duw ei hun fydd yn darparu oen y poethoffrwm, fy mab." Ac felly aethant ill dau gyda'i gilydd.
8and Abraham saith, `God doth provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son;` and they go on both of them together.
9 Wedi iddynt gyrraedd i'r lle'r oedd Duw wedi dweud wrtho, adeiladodd Abraham allor, trefnodd y coed, a rhwymodd ei fab Isaac a'i osod ar yr allor, ar ben y coed.
9And they come in unto the place of which God hath spoken to him, and there Abraham buildeth the altar, and arrangeth the wood, and bindeth Isaac his son, and placeth him upon the altar above the wood;
10 Yna estynnodd Abraham ei law, a chymryd y gyllell i ladd ei fab.
10and Abraham putteth forth his hand, and taketh the knife — to slaughter his son.
11 Ond galwodd angel yr ARGLWYDD arno o'r nef, a dweud, "Abraham! Abraham!" Dywedodd yntau, "Dyma fi."
11And the messenger of Jehovah calleth unto him from the heavens, and saith, `Abraham, Abraham;` and he saith, `Here [am] I;`
12 A dywedodd, "Paid gosod dy law ar y bachgen, na gwneud dim iddo; oherwydd gwn yn awr dy fod yn ofni Duw, gan nad wyt wedi gwrthod rhoi dy fab, dy unig fab, i mi."
12and He saith, `Put not forth thine hand unto the youth, nor do anything to him, for now I have known that thou art fearing God, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only one, from Me.`
13 Cododd Abraham ei olwg ac edrych, a dyna lle'r oedd hwrdd y tu l iddo wedi ei ddal gerfydd ei gyrn mewn drysni; aeth Abraham a chymryd yr hwrdd a'i offrymu yn boethoffrwm yn lle ei fab.
13And Abraham lifteth up his eyes, and looketh, and lo, a ram behind, seized in a thicket by its horns; and Abraham goeth, and taketh the ram, and causeth it to ascend for a burnt-offering instead of his son;
14 Ac enwodd Abraham y lle hwnnw, "Yr ARGLWYDD sy'n darparu"; fel y dywedir hyd heddiw, "Ar fynydd yr ARGLWYDD fe ddarperir."
14and Abraham calleth the name of that place `Jehovah-Jireh,` because it is said this day in the mount, `Jehovah doth provide.`
15 Galwodd angel yr ARGLWYDD eilwaith o'r nef ar Abraham,
15And the messenger of Jehovah calleth unto Abraham a second time from the heavens,
16 a dweud, "Tyngais i mi fy hun," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "oherwydd iti wneud hyn, heb wrthod rhoi dy fab, dy unig fab,
16and saith, `By Myself I have sworn — the affirmation of Jehovah — that because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only one —
17 bendithiaf di yn fawr, ac amlhau dy ddisgynyddion yn ddirfawr, fel sr y nefoedd ac fel y tywod ar lan y mr. Bydd dy ddisgynyddion yn meddiannu pyrth eu gelynion,
17that blessing I bless thee, and multiplying I multiply thy seed as stars of the heavens, and as sand which [is] on the sea-shore; and thy seed doth possess the gate of his enemies;
18 a thrwyddynt bendithir holl genhedloedd y ddaear, am iti ufuddhau i'm llais."
18and blessed themselves in thy seed have all nations of the earth, because that thou hast hearkened to My voice.`
19 Yna dychwelodd Abraham at ei lanciau ac aethant gyda'i gilydd i Beerseba; ac arhosodd Abraham yn Beerseba.
19And Abraham turneth back unto his young men, and they rise and go together unto Beer-Sheba; and Abraham dwelleth in Beer-Sheba.
20 Wedi'r pethau hyn, mynegwyd i Abraham, "Y mae Milca wedi geni plant i'th frawd Nachor:
20And it cometh to pass after these things that it is declared to Abraham, saying, `Lo, Milcah hath borne, even she, sons to Nahor thy brother:
21 Hus ei gyntaf-anedig, a'i frawd Bus, Cemuel tad Aram,
21Huz his first-born, and Buz his brother; and Kemuel father of Aram,
22 Cesed, Haso, Pildas, Idlaff, a Bethuel."
22and Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel;
23 Bethuel oedd tad Rebeca. Ganwyd yr wyth hyn o Milca i Nachor, brawd Abraham.
23and Bethuel hath begotten Rebekah;` these eight hath Milcah borne to Nahor, Abraham`s brother;
24 Hefyd esgorodd Reuma, ei ordderch, ar Teba, Gaham, Tahas a Maacha.
24and his concubine, whose name [is] Reumah, she also hath borne Tebah, and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maachah.
