¹ Pan glywodd Jabin brenin Hasor, anfonodd at Jobab brenin Madon ac at frenhinoedd Simron ac Achsaff,

¹And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor heard thereof, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

² hefyd at y brenhinoedd oedd ym mynydd-dir y gogledd ac yn yr Araba i'r de o Cinneroth, ac yn y Seffela a Naffath-dor yn y gorllewin.

²and to the kings that were on the north, in the hill-country, and in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,

³ Yr oedd y Canaaneaid i'r dwyrain a'r gorllewin, a'r Amoriaid, Hethiaid, Peresiaid a Jebusiaid yn y mynydd-dir, gyda'r Hefiaid dan Fynydd Hermon yn ardal Mispa.

³to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill-country, and the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.

⁴ Daethant allan, hwy a'u holl fyddinoedd, yn llu enfawr, mor niferus �'r tywod ar lan y m�r, gyda llawer iawn o feirch a cherbydau.

⁴And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea-shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

⁵ Wedi i'r holl frenhinoedd hyn ymgynnull, aethant a gwersyllu ynghyd ger Dyfroedd Merom er mwyn ymladd ag Israel.

⁵And all these kings met together; and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.

⁶ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Josua, "Paid �'u hofni, oherwydd tua'r adeg yma yfory byddaf yn rhoi pob un yn gelain gerbron Israel; byddi'n torri llinynnau garrau eu meirch ac yn llosgi eu cerbydau � th�n."

⁶And Jehovah said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them; for to-morrow at this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hock their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

⁷ Daeth Josua a'r holl filwyr oedd gydag ef ar eu gwarthaf yn ddisymwth ger Dyfroedd Merom, a rhuthro arnynt.

⁷So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell upon them.

⁸ Rhoddodd yr ARGLWYDD hwy yn llaw Israel; trawsant hwy, a'u hymlid hyd at Sidon Fawr a Misreffoth-maim, a dyffryn Mispa i'r dwyrain. Trawsant hwy, heb arbed neb.

⁸And Jehovah delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them unto great Sidon, and unto Misrephoth-maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.

⁹ Gwnaeth Josua iddynt fel y dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrtho; torrodd linynnau garrau eu meirch a llosgodd eu cerbydau � th�n.

⁹And Joshua did unto them as Jehovah bade him: he hocked their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.

¹⁰ Y pryd hwnnw trodd Josua i gyfeiriad Hasor a'i goresgyn, a lladd ei brenin �'r cleddyf. Yr oedd Hasor gynt yn ben ar yr holl deyrnasoedd hynny.

¹⁰And Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.

¹¹ Trawsant bawb oedd ynddi �'r cleddyf a'u lladd, heb arbed yr un perchen anadl, ac yna llosgi Hasor � th�n.

¹¹And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; there was none left that breathed: and he burnt Hazor with fire.

¹² Goresgynnodd Josua bob un o ddinasoedd y brenhinoedd hyn yn ogystal �'u brenhinoedd; trawodd hwy �'r cleddyf a'u difodi, fel y gorchmynnodd Moses gwas yr ARGLWYDD.

¹²And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and he smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; as Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded.

¹³ Ond am y dinasoedd oedd yn sefyll ar garneddau, ni losgodd Israel yr un ohonynt, ac eithrio Hasor, a losgwyd gan Josua.

¹³But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.

¹⁴ Cymerodd yr Israeliaid holl anrhaith y dinasoedd hynny yn ysbail, gan gynnwys y gwartheg, ond trawsant y boblogaeth i gyd �'r cleddyf a'u lladd, heb arbed un perchen anadl.

¹⁴And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any that breathed.

¹⁵ Fel yr oedd yr ARGLWYDD wedi gorchymyn i'w was Moses, felly yr oedd Moses wedi gorchymyn i Josua; dyna a wnaeth Josua heb esgeuluso dim o'r cwbl a orchmynnodd yr ARGLWYDD i Moses.

¹⁵As Jehovah commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua: and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that Jehovah commanded Moses.

¹⁶ Gorchfygodd Josua y cwbl o'r wlad hon: y mynydd-dir, y Negef i gyd, holl wlad Gosen, y Seffela a'r Araba; hefyd mynydd-dir Israel a'r Seffela,

¹⁶So Joshua took all that land, the hill-country, and all the South, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland, and the Arabah, and the hill-country of Israel, and the lowland of the same;

¹⁷ o Fynydd Halac sy'n codi tua Seir hyd at Baal-gad yn nyffryn Lebanon dan Fynydd Hermon. Gorchfygodd ei brenhinoedd i gyd, a'u taro a'u lladd.

¹⁷from mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and put them to death.

¹⁸ Bu Josua'n ymladd �'r holl frenhinoedd hyn am amser maith.

¹⁸Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

¹⁹ Ni wnaeth yr un ddinas gytundeb heddwch �'r Israeliaid, heblaw'r Hefiaid oedd yn byw yn Gibeon; cymryd y cwbl trwy ryfel a wnaethant.

¹⁹There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: they took all in battle.

²⁰ Yr ARGLWYDD oedd yn caledu eu calon i ryfela yn erbyn Israel, er mwyn iddynt eu difodi yn ddidrugaredd, ac yn wir eu distrywio fel y gorchmynnodd yr ARGLWYDD i Moses.

²⁰For it was of Jehovah to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

²¹ Y pryd hwnnw aeth Josua a difa'r Anacim o'r mynydd-dir o gwmpas Hebron, Debir, ac Anab, ac o holl fynydd-dir Jwda ac Israel; difododd Josua hwy a'u dinasoedd.

²¹And Joshua came at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill-country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill-country of Judah, and from all the hill-country of Israel: Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.

²² Ni adawyd Anacim ar �l yng ngwlad yr Israeliaid, ond yr oedd gweddill ohonynt ar �l yn Gasa, Gath ac Asdod.

²²There was none of the Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.

²³ Enillodd Josua yr holl wlad yn unol �'r cwbl a lefarodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses, a rhoddodd Josua hi yn etifeddiaeth i Israel yn �l cyfrannau'r llwythau. A chafodd y wlad lonydd rhag rhyfel.

²³So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Jehovah spake unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land had rest from war.
