Joshua

22

1 Yna galwodd Josua y Reubeniaid, y Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse,
1Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh,
2 a dweud wrthynt, "Yr ydych wedi cadw'r cwbl a orchmynnodd Moses gwas yr ARGLWYDD i chwi, a buoch yn ufudd i bob gorchymyn a roddais innau ichwi.
2and said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, and have hearkened unto my voice in all that I commanded you:
3 Ers cyfnod maith hyd y dydd hwn nid ydych wedi cefnu ar eich perthnasau, a buoch yn ofalus i gadw gorchymyn yr ARGLWYDD eich Duw.
3ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of Jehovah your God.
4 Bellach y mae'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw wedi rhoi diogelwch i'ch perthnasau, fel yr addawodd iddynt; felly, yn awr, trowch yn l ac ewch adref i'r tir a roddodd Moses gwas yr ARGLWYDD i chwi i'w feddiannu y tu hwnt i'r Iorddonen.
4And now Jehovah your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he spake unto them: therefore now turn ye, and get you unto your tents, unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you beyond the Jordan.
5 Yn unig byddwch yn ofalus iawn i gadw'r gorchymyn a'r gyfraith a roddodd Moses gwas yr ARGLWYDD ichwi, i garu'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw, a cherdded yn ei holl lwybrau, i gadw ei orchmynion, a glynu wrtho a'i wasanaethu 'ch holl galon ac 'ch holl enaid."
5Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, to love Jehovah your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
6 Yna bendithiodd Josua hwy a'u gollwng ymaith, ac aethant adref.
6So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away; and they went unto their tents.
7 I hanner llwyth Manasse yr oedd Moses wedi rhoi tir yn Basan; i'r hanner arall rhoddodd Josua dir gyda'u perthnasau i'r gorllewin o'r Iorddonen. Wrth eu hanfon adref a'u bendithio,
7Now to the one half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given [inheritance] in Bashan; but unto the other half gave Joshua among their brethren beyond the Jordan westward; moreover when Joshua sent them away unto their tents, he blessed them,
8 dywedodd Josua wrthynt, "Dychwelwch adref chyfoeth mawr a llawer iawn o anifeiliaid, hefyd arian, aur, pres a haearn, a llawer iawn o ddillad; rhannwch 'ch perthnasau ysbail eich gelynion."
8and spake unto them, saying, Return with much wealth unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
9 Dychwelodd y Reubeniaid, y Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse o Seilo yng ngwlad Canaan, a gadael yr Israeliaid i fynd i wlad Gilead, y diriogaeth a feddiannwyd ganddynt yn l gair yr ARGLWYDD drwy Moses.
9And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the commandment of Jehovah by Moses.
10 Pan ddaethant i Geliloth ger yr Iorddonen, cododd y Reubeniaid, y Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse allor yno yng ngwlad Canaan ger yr Iorddonen; yr oedd yn allor nodedig o fawr.
10And when they came unto the region about the Jordan, that is in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by the Jordan, a great altar to look upon.
11 Clywodd yr Israeliaid fod y Reubeniaid, y Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse wedi adeiladu allor ar derfyn gwlad Canaan, yn Geliloth ger yr Iorddonen, ar ochr yr Israeliaid;
11And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have built an altar in the forefront of the land of Canaan, in the region about the Jordan, on the side that pertaineth to the children of Israel.
12 ac wedi iddynt glywed, ymgynullodd holl gynulleidfa'r Israeliaid i Seilo, er mwyn mynd i ryfel yn eu herbyn.
12And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war.
13 Anfonodd yr Israeliaid Phinees, mab yr offeiriad Eleasar, i Gilead at y Reubeniaid, y Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse
13And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,
14 gyda deg pennaeth, un ar gyfer pob un o lwythau Israel, pob un yn benteulu ymysg tylwythau Israel.
14and with him ten princes, one prince of a fathers' house for each of the tribes of Israel; and they were every one of them head of their fathers' houses among the thousands of Israel.
15 Daethant at y Reubeniaid, y Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse yng ngwlad Gilead a dweud wrthynt,
15And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying,
16 "Y mae holl gynulleidfa'r ARGLWYDD yn gofyn, 'Beth yw'r brad hwn yr ydych wedi ei wneud yn erbyn Duw Israel trwy gefnu ar yr ARGLWYDD, ac adeiladu allor heddiw mewn gwrthryfel yn ei erbyn?
16Thus saith the whole congregation of Jehovah, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following Jehovah, in that ye have builded you an altar, to rebel this day against Jehovah?
17 Onid oedd trosedd Peor yn ddigon inni? Nid ydym hyd heddiw yn ln oddi wrtho, a bu'n achos pla ar gynulleidfa'r ARGLWYDD.
17Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we have not cleansed ourselves unto this day, although there came a plague upon the congregation of Jehovah,
18 Dyma chwi'n awr yn cefnu ar yr ARGLWYDD; ac os gwrthryfelwch yn ei erbyn ef heddiw, yna bydd ei ddicter yntau yn erbyn holl gynulleidfa Israel yfory.
18that ye must turn away this day from following Jehovah? and it will be, seeing ye rebel to-day against Jehovah, that to-morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.
19 Os yw'r wlad a feddiannwyd gennych yn aflan, dewch drosodd i wlad sydd ym meddiant yr ARGLWYDD, lle saif tabernacl yr ARGLWYDD, a derbyniwch ran yn ein plith ni. Peidiwch gwrthryfela yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD, na ninnau, drwy adeiladu ichwi unrhyw allor ar wahn i allor yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw.
19Howbeit, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of Jehovah, wherein Jehovah's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against Jehovah, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar besides the altar of Jehovah our God.
20 Pan droseddodd Achan fab Sera ynglu375?n 'r diofryd, oni ddaeth dicter ar holl gynulleidfa Israel? Ac er mai un oedd ef, nid un yn unig a drengodd am ei drosedd.'"
20Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the devoted thing, and wrath fell upon all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.
21 Atebodd y Reubeniaid, y Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse a dweud wrth benaethiaid tylwythau Israel,
21Then the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh answered, and spake unto the heads of the thousands of Israel,
22 "Yr ARGLWYDD yw Duw y duwiau! Yr ARGLWYDD yw Duw y duwiau! Fe u373?yr ef y gwir; bydded i Israel hefyd ei wybod. Os mewn gwrthryfel neu frad yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD y gwnaed hyn, peidiwch 'n harbed ni heddiw.
22The Mighty One, God, Jehovah, the Mighty One, God, Jehovah, he knoweth; and Israel he shall know: if it be in rebellion, or if in trespass against Jehovah (save thou us not this day,)
23 Os bu inni adeiladu allor i droi oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD, ac i offrymu arni boethoffrymau a bwydoffrymau, neu i ddarparu heddoffrymau, bydded i'r ARGLWYDD ei hun ein dwyn i gyfrif.
23that we have built us an altar to turn away from following Jehovah; or if to offer thereon burnt-offering or meal-offering, or if to offer sacrifices of peace-offerings thereon, let Jehovah himself require it;
24 Yn hytrach gwnaethom hyn rhag ofn i'ch plant chwi yn y dyfodol ddweud wrth ein plant ni, 'Beth sydd a wneloch chwi ag ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel?
24and if we have not [rather] out of carefulness done this, [and] of purpose, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with Jehovah, the God of Israel?
25 Y mae'r ARGLWYDD wedi gosod yr Iorddonen yn ffin rhyngom ni a chwi, llwythau Reuben a Gad; nid oes gennych chwi ran yn yr ARGLWYDD.' Yna gallai eich plant chwi rwystro'n plant ni rhag addoli'r ARGLWYDD.
25for Jehovah hath made the Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no portion in Jehovah: so might your children make our children cease from fearing Jehovah.
26 Am hynny dywedasom, 'Awn ati i adeiladu allor, nid ar gyfer poethoffrwm nac aberth,
26Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice:
27 ond yn dyst rhyngom ni a chwi, a rhwng y cenedlaethau a ddaw ar ein hl, ein bod ninnau hefyd i gael gwasanaethu'r ARGLWYDD 'n poethoffrymau a'n hebyrth a'n heddoffrymau, fel na all eich plant chwi edliw i'n plant ni yn y dyfodol, "Nid oes gennych chwi ran yn yr ARGLWYDD".'
27but it shall be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we may do the service of Jehovah before him with our burnt-offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace-offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no portion in Jehovah.
28 Yr oeddem yn meddwl, 'Petaent yn dweud hyn wrthym ac wrth ein plant yn y dyfodol, byddem ninnau'n dweud, "Edrychwch ar y copi o allor yr ARGLWYDD a wnaeth ein hynafiaid, nid ar gyfer poethoffrymau nac aberth, ond yn dyst rhyngom ni a chwi".'
28Therefore said we, It shall be, when they so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we shall say, Behold the pattern of the altar of Jehovah, which our fathers made, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice; but it is a witness between us and you.
29 Pell y bo oddi wrthym ein bod yn gwrthryfela yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD, a chefnu arno trwy godi unrhyw allor ar gyfer poethoffrwm neu fwydoffrwm neu aberth heblaw allor yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw sydd o flaen ei dabernacl."
29Far be it from us that we should rebel against Jehovah, and turn away this day from following Jehovah, to build an altar for burnt-offering, for meal-offering, or for sacrifice, besides the altar of Jehovah our God that is before his tabernacle.
30 Pan glywodd yr offeiriad Phinees, a phenaethiaid y gynulleidfa a phennau tylwythau Israel oedd gydag ef, yr hyn a ddywedodd y Reubeniaid, y Gadiaid a hanner llwyth Manasse, yr oeddent yn falch iawn.
30And when Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation, even the heads of the thousands of Israel that were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spake, it pleased them well.
31 Ac meddai Phinees, mab yr offeiriad Eleasar, wrth y Reubeniaid, y Gadiaid a'r Manasseaid, "Yn awr fe wyddom fod yr ARGLWYDD yn ein plith; oherwydd nid ydych wedi gwneud y brad hwn yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD, ond wedi gwaredu'r Israeliaid o'i law."
31And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we know that Jehovah is in the midst of us, because ye have not committed this trespass against Jehovah: now have ye delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of Jehovah.
32 Yna dychwelodd Phinees, mab yr offeiriad Eleasar, a'r penaethiaid oddi wrth y Reubeniaid a'r Gadiaid, a mynd yn l i wlad Gilead at yr Israeliaid yng ngwlad Canaan, a rhoi adroddiad iddynt.
32And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.
33 Derbyniodd yr Israeliaid yr adroddiad yn llawen, a bendithio Duw. Ni bu rhagor o sn am fynd i ryfel a difetha'r wlad lle'r oedd y Reubeniaid a'r Gadiaid yn byw.
33And the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and spake no more of going up against them to war, to destroy the land wherein the children of Reuben and the children of Gad dwelt.
34 Rhoddodd y Reubeniaid a'r Gadiaid yr enw Tyst i'r allor. "Am ei bod," meddent, "yn dyst rhyngom mai'r ARGLWYDD sydd Dduw."
34And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar [Ed]: For, [said they], it is a witness between us that Jehovah is God.
