¹ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses yng ngwastadedd Moab, gyferbyn � Jericho ger yr Iorddonen,

¹And Jehovah spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

² "Gorchymyn i bobl Israel roi o'r etifeddiaeth a g�nt ddinasoedd i'r Lefiaid i fyw ynddynt, a phorfeydd o amgylch y dinasoedd.

²Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and suburbs for the cities round about them shall ye give unto the Levites.

³ Caiff y Lefiaid fyw yn y dinasoedd, a bydd y porfeydd ar gyfer eu gwartheg, eu praidd, a'u holl anifeiliaid.

³And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and their suburbs shall be for their cattle, and for their substance, and for all their beasts.

⁴ Bydd porfeydd y dinasoedd a roddwch i'r Lefiaid yn ymestyn o fur y ddinas tuag allan am fil o gufyddau oddi amgylch.

⁴And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall be from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.

⁵ Yr ydych i fesur, o'r tu allan i'r ddinas, ddwy fil o gufyddau ar yr ochr ddwyreiniol, dwy fil ar yr ochr ddeheuol, dwy fil ar yr ochr orllewinol, a dwy fil ar yr ochr ogleddol, a'r ddinas yn y canol; dyma borfeydd y dinasoedd fydd yn eiddo iddynt.

⁵And ye shall measure without the city for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits, and for the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the midst. This shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

⁶ "O'r dinasoedd a rowch i'r Lefiaid, bydd chwech yn ddinasoedd noddfa, lle caiff y lleiddiaid ffoi; yn ychwanegol at y rhain, rhowch iddynt bedwar deg a dwy o ddinasoedd.

⁶And the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites, they shall be the six cities of refuge, which ye shall give for the manslayer to flee unto: and besides them ye shall give forty and two cities.

⁷ Felly byddwch yn rhoi i'r Lefiaid bedwar deg ac wyth o ddinasoedd i gyd, gyda'u porfeydd.

⁷All the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities; them [shall ye give] with their suburbs.

⁸ o'r dinasoedd sy'n feddiant i bobl Israel cymerwch lawer oddi wrth y llwythau mawr, ond llai oddi wrth y llwythau bychain; y mae pob llwyth i roi dinasoedd i'r Lefiaid yn �l maint yr etifeddiaeth a gafodd."

⁸And concerning the cities which ye shall give of the possession of the children of Israel, from the many ye shall take many; and from the few ye shall take few: every one according to his inheritance which he inheriteth shall give of his cities unto the Levites.

⁹ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses,

⁹And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

¹⁰ "Dywed wrth bobl Israel, 'Pan fyddwch wedi mynd dros yr Iorddonen i mewn i wlad Canaan,

¹⁰Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

¹¹ yr ydych i neilltuo i chwi eich hunain ddinasoedd i fod yn ddinasoedd noddfa, er mwyn i'r lleiddiad, a laddodd rywun yn anfwriadol, gael ffoi iddynt.

¹¹then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer that killeth any person unwittingly may flee thither.

¹² Bydd y dinasoedd yn noddfa rhag y dialydd, fel na chaiff y lleiddiad ei ladd cyn iddo sefyll ei brawf o flaen y cynulliad.

¹²And the cities shall be unto you for refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation for judgment.

¹³ o'r chwe dinas a nodwch yn ddinasoedd noddfa,

¹³And the cities which ye shall give shall be for you six cities of refuge.

¹⁴ bydd tair yr ochr yma i'r Iorddonen, a thair yng ngwlad Canaan.

¹⁴Ye shall give three cities beyond the Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan; they shall be cities of refuge.

¹⁵ Bydd y chwe dinas hyn yn noddfa i bobl Israel, ac i'r dieithryn a'r ymwelydd yn eu plith, a chaiff pwy bynnag a laddodd rywun yn anfwriadol ffoi iddynt.

¹⁵For the children of Israel, and for the stranger and for the sojourner among them, shall these six cities be for refuge; that every one that killeth any person unwittingly may flee thither.

¹⁶ "'Os bydd rhywun yn taro rhywun arall ag offeryn haearn, ac yntau'n marw, y mae'n llofrudd; rhodder y llofrudd i farwolaeth.

¹⁶But if he smote him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

¹⁷ Os bydd yn ei daro � charreg yn ei law, a'r garreg yn debyg o ladd, ac yntau'n marw, y mae'n llofrudd; rhodder y llofrudd i farwolaeth.

¹⁷And if he smote him with a stone in the hand, whereby a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

¹⁸ Os bydd yn ei daro ag arf pren yn ei law, a'r arf yn debyg o ladd, ac yntau'n marw, y mae'n llofrudd; rhodder y llofrudd i farwolaeth.

¹⁸Or if he smote him with a weapon of wood in the hand, whereby a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

¹⁹ Caiff y sawl sy'n dial gwaed roi'r llofrudd i farwolaeth pan ddaw o hyd iddo.

¹⁹The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death: when he meeteth him, he shall put him to death.

²⁰ Os bydd rhywun yn gwanu rhywun arall mewn casineb, neu'n ymosod arno'n fwriadol, ac yntau'n marw;

²⁰And if he thrust him of hatred, or hurled at him, lying in wait, so that he died,

²¹ neu ynteu'n taro rhywun �'i law mewn atgasedd, ac yntau'n marw, yna rhodder y sawl a'i trawodd i farwolaeth; y mae'n llofrudd, a chaiff y sawl sy'n dial gwaed ei roi i farwolaeth pan ddaw o hyd iddo.

²¹or in enmity smote him with his hand, so that he died; he that smote him shall surely be put to death; he is a murderer: the avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death, when he meeteth him.

²² "'Os bydd rhywun yn gwanu rhywun arall yn sydyn, a heb atgasedd, neu os bydd yn taflu rhywbeth ato'n anfwriadol,

²²But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or hurled upon him anything without lying in wait,

²³ neu ynteu heb edrych yn ei daro � charreg a fyddai'n debyg o'i ladd, ac yntau'n marw, yna, gan na fu gelyniaeth rhyngddynt a chan na fwriadodd ei niweidio,

²³or with any stone, whereby a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, so that he died, and he was not his enemy, neither sought his harm;

²⁴ y mae'r cynulliad i farnu rhwng yr ymosodwr a'r dialydd gwaed, yn �l y deddfau hyn;

²⁴then the congregation shall judge between the smiter and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances;

²⁵ a bydd y cynulliad yn arbed y lleiddiad rhag y dialydd gwaed ac yn ei roi'n �l yn y ddinas noddfa y ffodd iddi, a chaiff fyw yno nes marw'r archoffeiriad a eneiniwyd �'r olew cysegredig.

²⁵and the congregation shall deliver the manslayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall dwell therein until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

²⁶ Ond os �'r lleiddiad rywbryd y tu allan i derfynau'r ddinas noddfa y ffodd iddi,

²⁶But if the manslayer shall at any time go beyond the border of his city of refuge, whither he fleeth,

²⁷ a'r dialydd gwaed yn ei ganfod a'i ladd, ni fydd yn euog o'i waed.

²⁷and the avenger of blood find him without the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood slay the manslayer; he shall not be guilty of blood,

²⁸ Rhaid i'r lleiddiad aros tu mewn i'w ddinas noddfa nes marw'r archoffeiriad; ond ar �l marw'r archoffeiriad, caiff ddychwelyd i'r tir sy'n feddiant iddo.

²⁸because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the manslayer shall return into the land of his possession.

²⁹ "'Bydd hyn yn ddeddf ac yn gyfraith i chwi trwy eich cenedlaethau lle bynnag y byddwch yn byw.

²⁹And these things shall be for a statute [and] ordinance unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

³⁰ Os bydd rhywun yn lladd rhywun arall, rhodder ef i farwolaeth ar dystiolaeth tystion; ond na rodder neb i farwolaeth ar dystiolaeth un tyst.

³⁰Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be slain at the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person that he die.

³¹ Peidiwch � chymryd arian yn iawn am fywyd llofrudd a gafwyd yn euog o ladd; rhodder ef i farwolaeth.

³¹Moreover ye shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer, that is guilty of death; but he shall surely be put to death.

³² Peidiwch � chymryd arian yn iawn gan y sawl a ffodd i'w ddinas noddfa, er mwyn iddo gael dychwelyd i fyw i'w dir ei hun cyn marw'r archoffeiriad.

³²And ye shall take no ransom for him that is fled to his city of refuge, that he may come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

³³ Peidiwch � halogi'r wlad yr ydych yn byw ynddi; y mae gwaed yn halogi'r wlad, ac ni ellir gwneud iawn am y wlad y tywalltwyd gwaed ynddi ond trwy waed y sawl a'i tywalltodd.

³³So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood, it polluteth the land; and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

³⁴ Peidiwch � gwneud y wlad yr ydych yn byw ynddi yn aflan, oherwydd yr wyf fi, yr ARGLWYDD, yn preswylio yn ei chanol ac ymysg pobl Israel.'"

³⁴And thou shalt not defile the land which ye inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell: for I, Jehovah, dwell in the midst of the children of Israel.
