1 Wedi i Ddafydd fynd yn hen a chyrraedd oedran teg, fe wnaeth Solomon ei fab yn frenin ar Israel.
1And David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
2 Yna fe gasglodd ynghyd holl arweinwyr Israel, a'r offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid.
2And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
3 Rhifwyd y Lefiaid a oedd yn ddeg ar hugain oed a throsodd, a'r cyfanrif oedd deunaw mil ar hugain.
3And the Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward; and their number, by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
4 o'r rhain yr oedd pedair mil ar hugain i arolygu'r gwaith yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD, chwe mil i fod yn swyddogion ac yn farnwyr,
4Of these, twenty-four thousand were to preside over the work of the house of Jehovah; and six thousand were officers and judges;
5 pedair mil yn borthorion, a phedair mil i foli'r ARGLWYDD 'r offerynnau mawl a wnaeth Dafydd.
5and four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised Jehovah with the instruments which I made, [said David,] to praise [therewith].
6 Rhannodd Dafydd hwy yn ddosbarthiadau yn l meibion Lefi, sef Gerson, Cohath a Merari.
6And David divided them into courses according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
7 Meibion Gerson: Ladan a Simei.
7Of the Gershonites: Laadan and Shimei.
8 Meibion Ladan: Jehiel yn gyntaf, yna Setham a Joel, tri.
8The sons of Laadan: the head was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
9 Meibion Simei: Selomith, Hasiel a Haran, tri. Y rhain oedd pennau-teuluoedd Ladan.
9The sons of Shimei: Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the chief fathers of Laadan.
10 Meibion Simei: Jahath, Sisa, Jeus a Bereia. Dyma bedwar mab Simei,
10And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Ziza, and Jeush, and Beriah. These were the four sons of Shimei.
11 Jahath yn gyntaf a Sisa yn ail; ond nid oedd gan Jeus a Bereia lawer o feibion, felly cyfrifwyd hwy fel un teulu.
11And Jahath was the head, and Ziza the second; and Jeush and Beriah had not many sons: as father's house, therefore, they were reckoned as one.
12 Meibion Cohath: Amram, Ishar, Hebron ac Ussiel, pedwar.
12The sons of Kohath: Amram, Jizhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13 Meibion Amram: Aaron a Moses. Cafodd Aaron a'i feibion eu neilltuo am byth i sancteiddio'r cysegr sancteiddiaf ac i arogldarthu gerbron yr ARGLWYDD, i'w wasanaethu ac i fendithio yn ei enw dros byth.
13The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. And Aaron was separated, that he should be hallowed as most holy, he and his sons for ever, to offer before Jehovah, to do service to him, and to bless in his name for ever.
14 Ond yr oedd meibion Moses, gu373?r Duw, i'w cyfrif ymhlith llwyth Lefi.
14-- And as to Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.
15 Meibion Moses: Gersom ac Elieser.
15The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
16 Meibion Gersom: Sebuel yn gyntaf.
16The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the head.
17 Meibion Elieser: Rehabia yn gyntaf; nid oedd ganddo feibion eraill, ond yr oedd meibion Rehabia yn niferus iawn.
17And the sons of Eliezer: Rehabiah the head; and Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
18 Meibion Ishar: Selomith yn gyntaf.
18-- The sons of Jizhar: Shelomith the head.
19 Meibion Hebron: Jereia yn gyntaf, Amareia yn ail, Jahasiel yn drydydd a Jecameam yn bedwerydd.
19The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 Meibion Ussiel: Micha yn gyntaf a Jeseia yn ail.
20The sons of Uzziel: Micah the head, and Jishijah the second.
21 Meibion Merari: Mahli a Musi. Meibion Mahli: Eleasar a Cis.
21The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
22 Bu farw Eleasar; nid oedd ganddo feibion, dim ond merched, a phriododd eu cefndyr, meibion Cis, hwy.
22And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters; and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
23 Meibion Musi: Mahli, Eder a Jerimoth, tri.
23The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
24 Dyma feibion Lefi yn l eu teuluoedd, a dyma'r pennau-teuluoedd yn l eu swyddi ac wedi eu rhifo fesul un wrth eu henwau; yr oedd pob un ugain oed a throsodd i ofalu am waith tu375?'r ARGLWYDD,
24These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers' houses, the chief fathers, as they were reckoned, by number of names by their polls, who did the work of the service of the house of Jehovah, from twenty years old and upward.
25 oherwydd i Ddafydd ddweud, "Am fod yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel, wedi rhoi diogelwch i'w bobl, ac wedi dod i breswylio yn Jerwsalem am byth,
25For David said, Jehovah the God of Israel has given rest to his people, and he will dwell in Jerusalem for ever;
26 nid oes rhaid mwyach i'r Lefiaid gario'r tabernacl na'r holl offer sydd ar ei gyfer."
26and the Levites also have no more to carry the tabernacle, nor any of its vessels for its service.
27 Yn l geiriau olaf Dafydd yr oedd y Lefiaid ugain oed a throsodd i'w rhifo.
27For by the last words of David was this [done], -- the numbering of the sons of Levi from twenty years old and upward.
28 Eu dyletswydd oedd cynorthwyo meibion Aaron yng ngwasanaeth tu375?'r ARGLWYDD, gofalu am y cynteddau a'r ystafelloedd, puro popeth sanctaidd ac ymgymryd gwasanaeth tu375? Dduw.
28For their place was by the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the purifying of all holy things, and [for] the work of the service of the house of God;
29 Yr oeddent yn gyfrifol am y bara gosod, y blawd ar gyfer y bwydoffrwm, y teisennau croyw, y bara radell, y toes wedi ei dylino, a'r holl bwysau a mesurau.
29and for the loaves to be set in rows, and for the fine flour for the oblation, and for the unleavened cakes, and for [what is baked in] the pan, and for that which is saturated [with oil], and for all measure of capacity and size;
30 Yr oeddent i fod yn bresennol fore a hwyr i roi mawl a chlod i'r ARGLWYDD.
30and to stand every morning to thank and praise Jehovah, and likewise at even;
31 Bob tro yr offrymid poethoffrymau i'r ARGLWYDD ar Saboth, newydd-loer neu u373?yl, rhaid oedd i'r nifer dyladwy ohonynt fod ger ei fron ef.
31and for all burnt-offerings offered up to Jehovah on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the ordinance concerning them, continually, before Jehovah;
32 Yr oeddent i oruchwylio pabell y cyfamod a'r cysegr, a gweini ar eu brodyr, meibion Aaron, wrth iddynt wasanaethu yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD.
32and they kept the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of Jehovah.
