Darby's Translation

Ephesians

5

1 Byddwch, felly, yn efelychwyr Duw, fel plant annwyl iddo,
1Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children,
2 gan fyw mewn cariad, yn union fel y carodd Crist ni, a'i roi ei hun trosom, yn offrwm ac aberth i Dduw, o arogl pr.
2and walk in love, even as the Christ loved us, and delivered himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.
3 Anfoesoldeb rhywiol, a phob aflendid a thrachwant, peidiwch hyd yn oed 'u henwi yn eich plith, fel y mae'n briodol i saint;
3But fornication and all uncleanness or unbridled lust, let it not be even named among you, as it becomes saints;
4 a'r un modd bryntni, a chleber ffl, a siarad gwamal, pethau sy'n anweddus. Yn hytrach, geiriau diolch sy'n gweddu i chwi.
4and filthiness and foolish talking, or jesting, which are not convenient; but rather thanksgiving.
5 Gwyddoch hyn yn sicr, nad oes cyfran yn nheyrnas Crist a Duw i neb sy'n puteinio neu'n aflan, nac i neb sy'n drachwantus, hynny yw, yn addoli eilunod.
5For this ye are [well] informed of, knowing that no fornicator, or unclean person, or person of unbridled lust, who is an idolater, has inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God.
6 Peidiwch chymryd eich twyllo gan eiriau gwag neb; o achos y pethau hyn y mae digofaint Duw yn dod ar y rhai sy'n anufudd iddo.
6Let no one deceive you with vain words, for on account of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
7 Peidiwch felly  chyfathrachu  hwy;
7Be not ye therefore fellow-partakers with them;
8 tywyllwch oeddech chwi gynt, ond yn awr goleuni ydych yn yr Arglwydd. Byddwch fyw fel plant goleuni,
8for ye were once darkness, but now light in [the] Lord; walk as children of light,
9 oherwydd gwelir ffrwyth y goleuni ym mhob daioni a chyfiawnder a gwirionedd.
9(for the fruit of the light [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth,)
10 Gwnewch yn siu373?r beth sy'n gymeradwy gan yr Arglwydd.
10proving what is agreeable to the Lord;
11 Gwrthodwch ymgysylltu gweithredoedd diffrwyth y tywyllwch, ond yn hytrach dadlennwch eu drygioni.
11and do not have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather also reprove [them],
12 Gwarthus yw hyd yn oed crybwyll y pethau a wneir ganddynt yn y dirgel.
12for the things that are done by them in secret it is shameful even to say.
13 Ond y mae pob peth a ddadlennir gan y goleuni yn dod yn weladwy, oherwydd goleuni yw pob peth a wneir yn weladwy.
13But all things having their true character exposed by the light are made manifest; for that which makes everything manifest is light.
14 Am hynny y dywedir: "Deffro, di sydd yn cysgu, a chod oddi wrth y meirw, ac fe dywynna Crist arnat."
14Wherefore he says, Wake up, [thou] that sleepest, and arise up from among the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.
15 Felly, gwyliwch eich ymddygiad yn ofalus, gan fyw, nid fel rhai annoeth ond fel rhai doeth.
15See therefore how ye walk carefully, not as unwise but as wise,
16 Daliwch ar eich cyfle, oherwydd y mae'r dyddiau'n ddrwg.
16redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Am hynny, peidiwch bod yn ffl, ond deallwch beth yw ewyllys yr Arglwydd.
17For this reason be not foolish, but understanding what [is] the will of the Lord.
18 Peidiwch meddwi ar win (afradlonedd yw hynny), ond llanwer chwi 'r Ysbryd.
18And be not drunk with wine, in which is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit,
19 Cyfarchwch eich gilydd salmau ac emynau a chaniadau ysbrydol; canwch a phynciwch o'ch calon i'r Arglwydd.
19speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and chanting with your heart to the Lord;
20 Diolchwch bob amser am bob dim i Dduw y Tad yn enw ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist;
20giving thanks at all times for all things to him [who is] God and [the] Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
21 a byddwch ddarostyngedig i'ch gilydd, o barchedig ofn tuag at Grist.
21submitting yourselves to one another in [the] fear of Christ.
22 Chwi wragedd, byddwch ddaros-tyngedig i'ch gwu375?r fel i'r Arglwydd;
22Wives, [submit yourselves] to your own husbands, as to the Lord,
23 oherwydd y gu373?r yw pen y wraig, fel y mae Crist hefyd yn ben yr eglwys; ac ef yw Gwaredwr y corff.
23for a husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the assembly. *He* [is] Saviour of the body.
24 Ond fel y mae'r eglwys yn ddarostyngedig i Grist, felly y mae'n rhaid i'r gwragedd fod i'w gwu375?r ym mhob peth.
24But even as the assembly is subjected to the Christ, so also wives to their own husbands in everything.
25 Chwi wu375?r, carwch eich gwragedd, fel y carodd Crist yntau'r eglwys a'i roi ei hun drosti,
25Husbands, love your own wives, even as the Christ also loved the assembly, and has delivered himself up for it,
26 i'w sancteiddio a'i glanhau 'r golchiad du373?r a'r gair,
26in order that he might sanctify it, purifying [it] by the washing of water by [the] word,
27 er mwyn iddo ef ei hun ei chyflwyno iddo'i hun yn ei llawn ogoniant, heb fod arni frycheuyn na chrychni na dim byd o'r fath, iddi fod yn sanctaidd a di-fai.
27that *he* might present the assembly to himself glorious, having no spot, or wrinkle, or any of such things; but that it might be holy and blameless.
28 Yn yr un modd, dylai'r gwu375?r garu eu gwragedd fel eu cyrff eu hunain. Y mae'r gu373?r sy'n caru ei wraig yn ei garu ei hun.
28So ought men also to love their own wives as their own bodies: he that loves his own wife loves himself.
29 Ni chasaodd neb erioed ei gnawd ei hun; yn hytrach y mae'n ei feithrin a'i ymgeleddu. Felly y gwna Crist hefyd 'r eglwys;
29For no one has ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as also the Christ the assembly:
30 oherwydd yr ydym ni'n aelodau o'i gorff ef.
30for we are members of his body; [we are of his flesh, and of his bones.]
31 Yng ngeiriau'r Ysgrythur: "Dyna pam y bydd dyn yn gadael ei dad a'i fam ac yn glynu wrth ei wraig; a bydd y ddau yn un cnawd."
31Because of this a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be united to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.
32 Y mae'r dirgelwch hwn yn fawr. Cyfeirio yr wyf at Grist ac at yr eglwys.
32This mystery is great, but *I* speak as to Christ, and as to the assembly.
33 Ond yr ydych chwithau bob un i garu ei wraig fel ef ei hun; ac y mae'r wraig hithau i barchu ei gu373?r.
33But *ye* also, every one of you, let each so love his own wife as himself; but as to the wife [I speak] that she may fear the husband.
