1 Chwi blant, ufuddhewch i'ch rhieni yn yr Arglwydd, oherwydd hyn sydd iawn.
1Children, obey your parents in [the] Lord, for this is just.
2 "Anrhydedda dy dad a'th fam" hwn yw'r gorchymyn cyntaf ac iddo addewid:
2Honour thy father and thy mother, which is the first commandment with a promise,
3 "er mwyn iti lwyddo a chael hir ddyddiau ar y ddaear."
3that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest be long-lived on the earth.
4 Chwi dadau, peidiwch chythruddo'ch plant, ond eu meithrin yn nisgyblaeth a hyfforddiant yr Arglwydd.
4And [ye] fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in [the] discipline and admonition of [the] Lord.
5 Chwi gaethweision, ufuddhewch i'ch meistri daearol mewn ofn a dychryn, mewn unplygrwydd calon fel i Grist,
5Bondmen, obey masters according to flesh, with fear and trembling, in simplicity of your heart as to the Christ;
6 nid ag esgus o wasanaeth fel rhai sy'n ceisio plesio dynion, ond fel gweision Crist yn gwneud ewyllys Duw 'ch holl galon.
6not with eye-service as men-pleasers; but as bondmen of Christ, doing the will of God from [the] soul,
7 Rhowch wasanaeth ewyllysgar fel i'r Arglwydd, nid i ddynion,
7serving with good will as to the Lord, and not to men;
8 oherwydd fe wyddoch y bydd pob un, boed gaeth neu rydd, yn derbyn tl gan yr Arglwydd am ba ddaioni bynnag a wna.
8knowing that whatever good each shall do, this he shall receive of [the] Lord, whether bond or free.
9 Chwi feistri, gwnewch yr un peth iddynt hwy, gan roi'r gorau i fygwth, oherwydd fe wyddoch fod eu Meistr hwy a chwithau yn y nefoedd, ac nad yw ef yn dangos ffafriaeth.
9And, masters, do the same things towards them, giving up threatening, knowing that both their and your Master is in heaven, and there is no acceptance of persons with him.
10 Yn olaf, ymgryfhewch yn yr Arglwydd ac yn nerth ei allu ef.
10For the rest, brethren, be strong in [the] Lord, and in the might of his strength.
11 Gwisgwch amdanoch holl arfogaeth Duw, er mwyn ichwi fedru sefyll yn gadarn yn erbyn cynllwynion y diafol.
11Put on the panoply of God, that ye may be able to stand against the artifices of the devil:
12 Nid meidrolion yr ydym yn yr afael, ond thywys-ogaethau ac awdurdodau, llywod-raethwyr tywyllwch y byd hwn, phwerau ysbrydol drygionus yn y nefolion leoedd.
12because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against authorities, against the universal lords of this darkness, against spiritual [power] of wickedness in the heavenlies.
13 Gan hynny, ymarfogwch holl arfogaeth Duw, er mwyn ichwi fedru gwrthsefyll yn y dydd drwg, ac wedi cyflawni pob peth, sefyll yn gadarn.
13For this reason take [to you] the panoply of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having accomplished all things, to stand.
14 Safwch, ynteu, gwirionedd yn wregys am eich canol, a chyfiawnder yn arfwisg ar eich dwyfron,
14Stand therefore, having girt about your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 a pharodrwydd i gyhoeddi Efengyl tangnefedd yn esgidiau am eich traed.
15and shod your feet with [the] preparation of the glad tidings of peace:
16 Heblaw hyn oll, ymarfogwch tharian ffydd; hon byddwch yn gallu diffodd holl saethau tanllyd yr Un drwg.
16besides all [these], having taken the shield of faith with which ye will be able to quench all the inflamed darts of the wicked one.
17 Derbyniwch helm iachawdwriaeth a chleddyf yr Ysbryd, sef gair Duw.
17Have also the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God's word;
18 Ymrowch i weddi ac ymbil, gan weddo bob amser yn yr Ysbryd. I'r diben hwn, byddwch yn effro, gyda dyfalbarhad ym mhob math o ymbil dros y saint i gyd,
18praying at all seasons, with all prayer and supplication in [the] Spirit, and watching unto this very thing with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;
19 a gweddwch drosof finnau y bydd i Dduw roi i mi ymadrodd, ac agor fy ngenau, i hysbysu'n eofn ddirgelwch yr Efengyl.
19and for me in order that utterance may be given to me in [the] opening of my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the glad tidings,
20 Trosti hi yr wyf yn llysgennad mewn cadwynau. Ie, gweddwch ar i mi lefaru'n hy amdani, fel y dylwn lefaru.
20for which I am an ambassador [bound] with a chain, that I may be bold in it as I ought to speak.
21 Er mwyn i chwithau wybod fy hanes, a beth yr wyf yn ei wneud, fe gewch y cwbl gan Tychicus, y brawd annwyl a'r gweinidog ffyddlon yn yr Arglwydd.
21But in order that *ye* also may know what concerns me, how I am getting on, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in [the] Lord, shall make all things known to you;
22 Yr wyf yn ei anfon atoch yn unswydd ichwi gael gwybod am ein hynt, ac er mwyn iddo ef eich calonogi.
22whom I have sent to you for this very thing, that ye may know of our affairs and that he may encourage your hearts.
23 Tangnefedd i'r cyfeillion, a chariad ynghyd ffydd oddi wrth Dduw Dad a'r Arglwydd Iesu Grist.
23Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God [the] Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Gras fyddo gyda phawb sy'n caru ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist chariad anfarwol!
24Grace with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption.
