Darby's Translation

Jeremiah

13

1 Fel hyn y dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrthyf: "Dos a phryn wregys lliain, a'i roi am dy lwynau; paid 'i ddodi mewn du373?r."
1Thus said Jehovah unto me: Go and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins; but dip it not in water.
2 Prynais wregys ar air yr ARGLWYDD, a'i roi am fy llwynau.
2And I bought a girdle according to the word of Jehovah, and put it upon my loins.
3 Daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ataf eilwaith, a dweud,
3And the word of Jehovah came unto me the second time, saying,
4 "Cymer y gwregys a brynaist, ac sydd am dy lwynau, a dos i ymyl afon Ewffrates a'i guddio yno mewn hollt yn y graig."
4Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
5 Felly euthum a'i guddio wrth ymyl afon Ewffrates, yn l gorchymyn yr ARGLWYDD i mi.
5So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as Jehovah had commanded me.
6 Ar l dyddiau lawer dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrthyf, "Dos i ymyl afon Ewffrates, a chymer oddi yno y gwregys y gorchmynnais iti ei guddio yno."
6And it came to pass at the end of many days, that Jehovah said unto me, Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence which I commanded thee to hide there.
7 Euthum innau yno, a chloddio a chymryd y gwregys o'r lle y cuddiais ef; ac wele, yr oedd y gwregys wedi ei ddifetha, ac nid oedd yn dda i ddim.
7And I went to the Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it; and behold, the girdle was spoiled, it was good for nothing.
8 Yna daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ataf a dweud,
8And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
9 "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Felly y difethaf finnau falchder Jwda a balchder mawr Jerwsalem.
9Thus saith Jehovah: After this manner will I spoil the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
10 Fel y gwregys yma, nad yw'n dda i ddim, y bydd y bobl ddrygionus hyn, sy'n gwrthod gwrando ar fy ngeiriau, ond yn rhodio yn ystyfnigrwydd eu calon, ac yn dilyn duwiau eraill i'w gwasanaethu a'u haddoli.
10This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and go after other gods, to serve them and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle which is good for nothing.
11 Oherwydd fel y gafael gwregys am lwynau rhywun, felly y perais i holl du375? Israel a holl du375? Jwda afael ynof fi," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "i fod yn bobl i mi, ac yn enw, ac yn foliant ac yn ogoniant; ond ni wrandawsant.
11For as a girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith Jehovah; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
12 "Dywed wrthynt y gair yma: 'Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel: Llenwir pob costrel gwin.' A dywedant wrthyt, 'Oni wyddom ni'n iawn y llenwir pob costrel gwin?'
12And thou shalt speak unto them this word: Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Every skin shall be filled with wine. And they will say unto thee, Do we not very well know that every skin shall be filled with wine?
13 Yna dywedi wrthynt, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Dyma fi'n llenwi'n feddw holl drigolion y tir hwn, yn frenhinoedd sy'n eistedd ar orseddfainc Dafydd, yn offeiriaid ac yn broffwydi, a holl drigolion Jerwsalem.
13And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, and the kings that sit for David upon his throne, and the priests and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
14 Drylliaf hwy y naill yn erbyn y llall, rhieni a phlant ynghyd, medd yr ARGLWYDD; nid arbedaf ac ni thosturiaf ac ni thrugarhaf, eithr difethaf hwy.'"
14And I will dash them one against another, both the fathers and the sons together, saith Jehovah; I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy so as not to destroy them.
15 Clywch a gwrandewch; peidiwch ag ymfalcho, canys llefarodd yr ARGLWYDD.
15Hear ye, and give ear, be not lifted up; for Jehovah hath spoken.
16 Rhowch ogoniant i'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw cyn iddo beri tywyllwch, a chyn i'ch traed faglu yn y gwyll ar y mynyddoedd; a thra byddwch yn disgwyl am olau, bydd yntau'n ei droi yn dywyllwch dudew, ac yn ei wneud yn nos ddu.
16Give glory to Jehovah your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the mountains of twilight; and ye shall look for light, but he will turn it into the shadow of death, and make [it] gross darkness.
17 Ac os na wrandewch ar hyn, mi wylaf yn y dirgel am eich balchder; fe ffrydia fy llygaid ddagrau chwerw, oherwydd dwyn diadell yr ARGLWYDD i gaethiwed.
17And if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for [your] pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because Jehovah's flock is gone into captivity.
18 "Dywed wrth y brenin a'r fam frenhines, 'Eisteddwch yn ostyngedig, oherwydd syrthiodd eich coron anrhydeddus oddi ar eich pen.'
18Say unto the king and to the queen: Humble yourselves, sit down low; for from your heads shall come down the crown of your magnificence.
19 Caeir dinasoedd y Negef, heb neb i'w hagor; caethgludir Jwda gyfan, caethgludir hi yn llwyr."
19The cities of the south are shut up, and there is none to open [them]; all Judah is carried away captive: it is wholly carried away captive.
20 Dyrchafwch eich llygaid, a gwelwch y rhai a ddaw o'r gogledd. Ple mae'r praidd a roddwyd i ti, dy ddiadell braf?
20Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north. Where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
21 Beth a ddywedi pan roddir y rhai a ddysgaist yn feistri arnat, a'r rhai a fegaist yn ben arnat? Oni chydia ynot ofidiau, fel gwraig wrth esgor?
21What wilt thou say when he shall visit thee, since thou thyself hast trained them to be princes in chief over thee? Shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?
22 A phan feddyli, "Pam y digwyddodd hyn i mi?", yn l amlder dy gamwedd y codwyd godre dy wisg, ac y dinoethwyd dy gorff.
22And if thou say in thy heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts uncovered, [and] thy heels have suffered violence.
23 A newidia'r Ethiopiad ei groen, neu'r llewpard ei frychni? A allwch chwithau wneud daioni, chwi a fagwyd mewn drygioni?
23Can an Ethiopian change his skin, or a leopard his spots? [Then] may ye also do good, who are accustomed to do evil.
24 "Fe'u chwalaf hwy fel us a chwythir gan wynt y diffeithwch.
24And I will scatter them as stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.
25 Hyn fydd dy ran, yr hyn a fesurais i ti," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "am i ti fy anghofio, ac ymddiried mewn celwydd.
25This shall be thy lot, thy measured portion from me, saith Jehovah; because thou hast forgotten me, and confided in falsehood.
26 Mi godaf odre dy wisg dros dy wyneb, ac amlygir dy warth.
26Therefore will I also turn thy skirts over thy face, and thy shame shall be seen.
27 Gwelais dy anlladrwydd, dy odineb, dy weryriad nwydus, a budreddi dy buteindra ar fryn a maes. Gwae di, Jerwsalem! Ni fyddi'n ln! Pa hyd, eto, y pery hyn?"
27Thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy fornication, on the hills, in the fields, -- thine abominations, have I seen. Woe unto thee, Jerusalem! Wilt thou not be made clean? after how long a time yet?
