Darby's Translation

Matthew

4

1 Yna arweiniwyd Iesu i'r anialwch gan yr Ysbryd, i gael ei demtio gan y diafol.
1Then Jesus was carried up into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted of the devil:
2 Wedi iddo ymprydio am ddeugain dydd a deugain nos daeth arno eisiau bwyd.
2and having fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he hungered.
3 A daeth y temtiwr a dweud wrtho, "Os Mab Duw wyt ti, dywed wrth y cerrig hyn am droi'n fara."
3And the tempter coming up to him said, If thou be Son of God, speak, that these stones may become loaves of bread.
4 Ond atebodd Iesu ef, "Y mae'n ysgrifenedig: 'Nid ar fara yn unig y bydd rhywun fyw, ond ar bob gair sy'n dod allan o enau Duw.'"
4But he answering said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word which goes out through God's mouth.
5 Yna cymerodd y diafol ef i'r ddinas sanctaidd, a'i osod ar du373?r uchaf y deml,
5Then the devil takes him to the holy city, and sets him upon the edge of the temple,
6 a dweud wrtho, "Os Mab Duw wyt ti, bwrw dy hun i lawr; oherwydd y mae'n ysgrifenedig: 'Rhydd orchymyn i'w angylion amdanat; byddant yn dy godi ar eu dwylo rhag iti daro dy droed yn erbyn carreg.'"
6and says to him, If thou be Son of God cast thyself down; for it is written, He shall give charge to his angels concerning thee, and on [their] hands shall they bear thee, lest in anywise thou strike thy foot against a stone.
7 Dywedodd Iesu wrtho, "Y mae'n ysgrifenedig drachefn: 'Paid gosod yr Arglwydd dy Dduw ar ei brawf.'"
7Jesus said to him, It is again written, Thou shalt not tempt [the] Lord thy God.
8 Unwaith eto cymerodd y diafol ef i fynydd uchel iawn, a dangos iddo holl deyrnasoedd y byd a'u gogoniant,
8Again the devil takes him to a very high mountain, and shews him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory,
9 a dweud wrtho, "Y rhain i gyd a roddaf i ti, os syrthi i lawr a'm haddoli i."
9and says to him, All these things will I give thee if, falling down, thou wilt do me homage.
10 Yna dywedodd Iesu wrtho, "Dos ymaith, Satan; oherwydd y mae'n ysgrifenedig: 'Yr Arglwydd dy Dduw a addoli, ac ef yn unig a wasanaethi.'"
10Then says Jesus to him, Get thee away, Satan, for it is written, Thou shalt do homage to [the] Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou serve.
11 Yna gadawodd y diafol ef, a daeth angylion a gweini arno.
11Then the devil leaves him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him.
12 Ar l iddo glywed bod Ioan wedi ei garcharu, aeth Iesu ymaith i Galilea.
12But having heard that John was delivered up, he departed into Galilee:
13 A chan adael Nasareth aeth i fyw i Gapernaum, tref ar lan y mr yng nghyffiniau Sabulon a Nafftali,
13and having left Nazareth, he went and dwelt at Capernaum, which is on the sea-side in the borders of Zabulon and Nepthalim,
14 fel y cyflawnid y gair a lefarwyd trwy Eseia'r proffwyd:
14that that might be fulfilled which was spoken through Esaias the prophet, saying,
15 "Gwlad Sabulon a gwlad Nafftali, ar y ffordd i'r mr, tu hwnt i'r Iorddonen, Galilea'r Cenhedloedd;
15Land of Zabulon and land of Nepthalim, way of [the] sea beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations:
16 y bobl oedd yn trigo mewn tywyllwch a welodd oleuni mawr, ac ar drigolion tir cysgod angau y gwawriodd goleuni."
16-- the people sitting in darkness has seen a great light, and to those sitting in [the] country and shadow of death, to them has light sprung up.
17 O'r amser hwnnw y dechreuodd Iesu bregethu'r genadwri hon: "Edifarhewch, oherwydd y mae teyrnas nefoedd wedi dod yn agos."
17From that time began Jesus to preach and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn nigh.
18 Wrth gerdded ar lan Mr Galilea gwelodd Iesu ddau frawd, Simon, a elwid Pedr, ac Andreas ei frawd, yn bwrw rhwyd i'r mr; pysgotwyr oeddent.
18And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers;
19 A dywedodd wrthynt, "Dewch ar fy l i, ac fe'ch gwnaf yn bysgotwyr dynion."
19and he says to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 Gadawsant eu rhwydau ar unwaith a'i ganlyn ef.
20And they, having left their trawl-nets, immediately followed him.
21 Ac wedi iddo fynd ymlaen oddi yno gwelodd ddau frawd arall, Iago fab Sebedeus ac Ioan ei frawd, yn y cwch gyda Sebedeus eu tad yn cyweirio eu rhwydau. Galwodd hwythau,
21And going on thence he saw other two brothers, James the [son] of Zebedee and John his brother, in the ship with Zebedee their father, mending their trawl-nets, and he called them;
22 ac ar unwaith, gan adael y cwch a'u tad, canlynasant ef.
22and they, having left the ship and their father, immediately followed him.
23 Yr oedd yn mynd o amgylch Galilea gyfan, dan ddysgu yn eu synagogau hwy a phregethu efengyl y deyrnas, ac iachu pob afiechyd a phob llesgedd ymhlith y bobl.
23And [Jesus] went round the whole [of] Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every bodily weakness among the people.
24 Aeth y sn amdano trwy Syria gyfan; dygasant ato yr holl gleifion oedd yn dioddef dan amrywiol afiechydon, y rhai oedd yn cael eu llethu gan boenau, y rhai oedd wedi eu meddiannu gan gythreuliaid, y rhai'n dioddef o ffitiau, a'r rhai oedd wedi eu parlysu; ac fe iachaodd ef hwy.
24And his fame went out into the whole [of] Syria, and they brought to him all that were ill, suffering under various diseases and pains, and those possessed by demons, and lunatics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
25 A dilynwyd ef gan dyrfaoedd mawr o Galilea a'r Decapolis, a Jerwsalem a Jwdea, a'r tu hwnt i'r Iorddonen.
25And great crowds followed him from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judaea, and beyond the Jordan.
