1 Pobl biau trefnu eu meddyliau, ond oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD y daw ateb y tafod.
1The purposes of the heart are of man, but the answer of the tongue is from Jehovah.
2 Y mae holl ffyrdd rhywun yn bur yn ei olwg ei hun, ond y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn pwyso'r cymhellion.
2All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but Jehovah weigheth the spirits.
3 Cyflwyna dy weithredoedd i'r ARGLWYDD, a chyflawnir dy gynlluniau.
3Commit thy works unto Jehovah, and thy thoughts shall be established.
4 Gwnaeth yr ARGLWYDD bob peth i bwrpas, hyd yn oed y drygionus ar gyfer dydd adfyd.
4Jehovah hath wrought everything on his own account, yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 Ffiaidd gan yr ARGLWYDD yw pob un balch; y mae'n sicr na chaiff osgoi cosb.
5Every proud heart is an abomination to Jehovah: hand for hand, he shall not be held innocent.
6 Trwy deyrngarwch a ffyddlondeb y maddeuir camwedd, a thrwy ofn yr ARGLWYDD y troir oddi wrth ddrwg.
6By loving-kindness and truth iniquity is atoned for; and by the fear of Jehovah [men] depart from evil.
7 Pan yw'r ARGLWYDD yn hoffi ffyrdd rhywun, gwna hyd yn oed i'w elynion fyw mewn heddwch ag ef.
7When a man's ways please Jehovah, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 Gwell ychydig gyda chyfiawnder nag enillion mawr heb farn.
8Better is a little with righteousness, than great revenues without right.
9 Y mae meddwl rhywun yn cynllunio'i ffordd, ond yr ARGLWYDD sy'n trefnu ei gamre.
9The heart of man deviseth his way, but Jehovah directeth his steps.
10 Ceir dyfarniad oddi ar wefusau'r brenin; nid yw ei enau yn bradychu cyfiawnder.
10An oracle is on the lips of the king: his mouth will not err in judgment.
11 Mater i'r ARGLWYDD yw mantol a chloriannau cyfiawn; a'i waith ef yw'r holl bwysau yn y god.
11The just balance and scales are Jehovah's; all the weights of the bag are his work.
12 Ffiaidd gan frenhinoedd yw gwneud drwg, oherwydd trwy gyfiawnder y sicrheir gorsedd.
12It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness; for the throne is established by righteousness.
13 Hyfrydwch brenin yw genau cyfiawn, a hoffa'r sawl sy'n llefaru'n uniawn.
13Righteous lips are the delight of kings, and they love him that speaketh aright.
14 Y mae llid brenin yn gennad angau, ond fe'i dofir gan yr un doeth.
14The fury of a king is [as] messengers of death; but a wise man will pacify it.
15 Yn llewyrch wyneb brenin y ceir bywyd, ac y mae ei ffafr fel cwmwl glaw yn y gwanwyn.
15In the light of the king's countenance is life, and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.
16 Gwell nag aur yw ennill doethineb, a gwell dewis deall nag arian.
16How much better is it to get wisdom than fine gold, and the getting of intelligence to be preferred to silver!
17 Y mae priffordd yr uniawn yn troi oddi wrth ddrygioni, a chadw ei fywyd y mae'r un sy'n gwylio'i ffordd.
17The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that taketh heed to his way keepeth his soul.
18 Daw balchder o flaen dinistr, ac ymffrost o flaen cwymp.
18Pride [goeth] before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Gwell bod yn ddistadl gyda'r anghenus na rhannu ysbail gyda'r balch.
19Better is it to be of a humble spirit with the meek, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 Y mae'r medrus yn ei fater yn llwyddo, a'r un sy'n ymddiried yn yr ARGLWYDD yn ddedwydd.
20He that giveth heed to the word shall find good; and whoso confideth in Jehovah, happy is he.
21 Y doeth o galon a ystyrir yn ddeallus, a geiriau deniadol sy'n ychwanegu dysg.
21The wise in heart is called intelligent, and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
22 Y mae deall yn ffynnon bywyd i'w berchennog, ond ffolineb yn ddisgyblaeth i ffyliaid.
22Wisdom is a fountain of life for him that hath it; but the instruction of fools is folly.
23 Y mae meddwl y doeth yn gwneud ei eiriau'n ddeallus, ac yn ychwanegu dysg at ei ymadroddion.
23The heart of the wise maketh his mouth intelligent, and upon his lips increaseth learning.
24 Y mae geiriau teg fel diliau m�l, yn felys i'r blas ac yn iechyd i'r corff.
24Pleasant words are [as] a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health for the bones.
25 Y mae ffordd sy'n ymddangos yn union, ond sy'n arwain i farwolaeth.
25There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof is the ways of death.
26 Angen llafurwr sy'n gwneud iddo lafurio, a'i enau sy'n ei annog ymlaen.
26The appetite of the labourer laboureth for him, for his mouth urgeth him on.
27 Y mae dihiryn yn cynllunio drwg; y mae fel t�n poeth ar ei wefusau.
27A man of Belial diggeth up evil, and on his lips there is as a scorching fire.
28 Y mae rhywun croes yn creu cynnen, a'r straegar yn gwahanu cyfeillion.
28A false man soweth contention; and a talebearer separateth very friends.
29 Y mae rhywun traws yn denu ei gyfaill, ac yn ei arwain ar ffordd wael.
29A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into a way that is not good.
30 Y mae'r un sy'n wincio llygad yn cynllunio trawster, a'r sawl sy'n crychu ei wefusau yn gwneud drygioni.
30He that shutteth his eyes, [it is] to devise froward things; biting his lips, he bringeth evil to pass.
31 Y mae gwallt sy'n britho yn goron anrhydedd; fe'i ceir wrth rodio'n gyfiawn.
31The hoary head is a crown of glory, [if] it is found in the way of righteousness.
32 Gwell bod yn amyneddgar nag yn rhyfelwr, a rheoli tymer na chipio dinas.
32He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
33 Er bwrw'r coelbren i'r arffed, oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD y daw pob dyfarniad.
33The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole decision is of Jehovah.
