1 Fy mab, paid ag anghofio fy nghyfarwyddyd; cadw fy ngorchmynion yn dy gof.
1My son, forget not my teaching, and let thy heart observe my commandments;
2 Oherwydd ychwanegant at nifer dy ddyddiau a rhoi blynyddoedd o fywyd a llwyddiant.
2for length of days, and years of life, and peace shall they add to thee.
3 Paid � gollwng gafael ar deyrngarwch a ffyddlondeb; rhwym hwy am dy wddf, ysgrifenna hwy ar lech dy galon;
3Let not loving-kindness and truth forsake thee; bind them about thy neck, write them upon the tablet of thy heart:
4 a byddi'n ennill ffafr ac enw da yng ngolwg Duw a dynion.
4and thou shalt find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Ymddiried yn llwyr yn yr ARGLWYDD, a phaid � dibynnu ar dy ddeall dy hun.
5Confide in Jehovah with all thy heart, and lean not unto thine own intelligence;
6 Cydnabydda ef yn dy holl ffyrdd, bydd ef yn sicr o gadw dy lwybrau'n union.
6in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will make plain thy paths.
7 Paid � bod yn ddoeth yn dy olwg dy hun; ofna'r ARGLWYDD, a chilia oddi wrth ddrwg.
7Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear Jehovah, and depart from evil:
8 Bydd hyn yn iechyd i'th gorff, ac yn faeth i'th esgyrn.
8it shall be health for thy navel, and moisture for thy bones.
9 Anrhydedda'r ARGLWYDD �'th gyfoeth, ac � blaenffrwyth dy holl gynnyrch.
9Honour Jehovah with thy substance, and with the first-fruits of all thine increase;
10 Yna bydd dy ysguboriau'n orlawn, a'th gafnau'n gorlifo gan win.
10so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy vats shall overflow with new wine.
11 Fy mab, paid � diystyru disgyblaeth yr ARGLWYDD, a phaid � digio wrth ei gerydd;
11My son, despise not the instruction of Jehovah, neither be weary of his chastisement;
12 oherwydd ceryddu'r un a g�r y mae'r ARGLWYDD, fel tad sy'n hoff o'i blentyn.
12for whom Jehovah loveth he chasteneth, even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Gwyn ei fyd y sawl a gafodd ddoethineb, a'r un sy'n berchen deall.
13Blessed is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 Y mae mwy o elw ynddi nag mewn arian, a'i chynnyrch yn well nag aur.
14For the gain thereof is better than the gain of silver, and her revenue than fine gold.
15 Y mae'n fwy gwerthfawr na gemau, ac nid yw dim a ddymuni yn debyg iddi.
15She is more precious than rubies; and all the things thou canst desire are not equal unto her.
16 Yn ei llaw dde y mae hir oes, a chyfoeth ac anrhydedd yn ei llaw chwith.
16Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand riches and honour.
17 Ffyrdd hyfryd yw ei ffyrdd, a heddwch sydd ar ei holl lwybrau.
17Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 Y mae'n bren bywyd i'r neb a gydia ynddi, a dedwydd yw'r rhai sy'n glynu wrthi.
18She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her; and happy is he that retaineth her.
19 Trwy ddoethineb y sylfaenodd yr ARGLWYDD y ddaear, ac � deall y sicrhaodd y nefoedd;
19Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens.
20 trwy ei ddeall y ffrydiodd y dyfnderau, ac y defnynna'r cymylau wlith.
20By his knowledge the deeps were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.
21 Fy mab, dal d'afael ar graffter a phwyll; paid �'u gollwng o'th olwg;
21My son, let them not depart from thine eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 byddant yn iechyd i'th enaid, ac yn addurn am dy wddf.
22so shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace unto thy neck.
23 Yna cei gerdded ymlaen heb bryder, ac ni fagla dy droed.
23Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, and thy foot shall not stumble;
24 Pan eisteddi, ni fyddi'n ofni, a phan orweddi, bydd dy gwsg yn felys.
24when thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid, but thou shalt lie down and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 Paid ag ofni rhag unrhyw ddychryn disymwth, na dinistr y drygionus pan ddaw;
25Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the destruction of the wicked, when it cometh;
26 oherwydd bydd yr ARGLWYDD yn hyder iti, ac yn cadw dy droed rhag y fagl.
26for Jehovah shall be thy confidence, and he will keep thy foot from being taken.
27 Paid � gwrthod cymwynas i'r sawl sy'n ei haeddu, os yw yn dy allu i'w gwneud.
27Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it.
28 Paid � dweud wrth dy gymydog, "Tyrd yn d'�l eto, ac fe'i rhoddaf iti yfory", er ei fod gennyt yn awr.
28Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to-morrow I will give, when thou hast it by thee.
29 Paid � chynllunio drwg yn erbyn dy gymydog, ac yntau'n ymddiried ynot.
29Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
30 Paid � chweryla'n ddiachos ag unrhyw un, ac yntau heb wneud cam � thi.
30Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
31 Paid � chenfigennu wrth ormeswr, na dewis yr un o'i ffyrdd.
31Envy not the man of violence, and choose none of his ways.
32 Oherwydd y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn ffieiddio'r cyfeiliornus, ond yn rhannu ei gyfrinach �'r uniawn.
32For the perverse is an abomination to Jehovah; but his secret is with the upright.
33 Y mae melltith yr ARGLWYDD ar du375?'r drygionus, ond y mae'n bendithio trigfa'r cyfiawn.
33The curse of Jehovah is in the house of the wicked; but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
34 Er iddo ddirmygu'r dirmygwyr, eto fe rydd ffafr i'r gostyngedig.
34He indeed scorneth the scorners; but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
35 Etifedda'r doeth anrhydedd, ond y ffyliaid bentwr o warth.
35The wise shall inherit glory; but shame shall be the promotion of the foolish.
