Psalms

18

1 1 I'r Cyfarwyddwr: I Ddafydd, gwas yr ARGLWYDD, a lefarodd eiriau'r gerdd hon wrth yr ARGLWYDD y diwrnod y gwaredodd yr ARGLWYDD ef o law ei elynion ac o law Saul. A dywedodd:0 Caraf di, O ARGLWYDD, fy nghryfder.
1{To the chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David, the servant of Jehovah, who spoke to Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies and out of the hand of Saul. And he said,} I will love thee, O Jehovah, my strength.
2 Yr ARGLWYDD yw fy nghraig, fy nghadernid a'm gwaredydd; fy Nuw yw fy nghraig lle llochesaf, fy nharian, fy amddiffynfa gadarn a'm caer.
2Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my ùGod, my rock, in whom I will trust; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
3 Gwaeddaf ar yr ARGLWYDD sy'n haeddu mawl, ac fe'm gwaredir rhag fy ngelynion.
3I will call upon Jehovah, who is to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 Pan oedd clymau angau'n tynhau amdanaf a llifeiriant distryw yn fy nal,
4The bands of death encompassed me, and torrents of Belial made me afraid.
5 pan oedd clymau Sheol yn f'amgylchu a maglau angau o'm blaen,
5The bands of Sheol surrounded me, the cords of death encountered me.
6 gwaeddais ar yr ARGLWYDD yn fy nghyfyngder, ac ar fy Nuw iddo fy nghynorthwyo; clywodd fy llef o'i deml, a daeth fy ngwaedd i'w glustiau.
6In my distress I called upon Jehovah, and I cried out to my God; he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, into his ears.
7 Crynodd y ddaear a gwegian, ysgydwodd sylfeini'r mynyddoedd, a siglo oherwydd ei ddicter ef.
7Then the earth shook and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains trembled and shook, because he was wroth.
8 Cododd mwg o'i ffroenau, yr oedd tn yn ysu o'i enau, a marwor yn cynnau o'i gwmpas.
8There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals burned forth from it.
9 Fe agorodd y ffurfafen a disgyn, ac yr oedd tywyllwch o dan ei draed.
9And he bowed the heavens, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.
10 Marchogodd ar gerwb a hedfan, gwibiodd ar adenydd y gwynt.
10And he rode upon a cherub and did fly; yea, he flew fast upon the wings of the wind.
11 Gosododd o'i amgylch dywyllwch yn guddfan, a chymylau duon yn orchudd.
11He made darkness his secret place, his tent round about him: darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
12 o'r disgleirdeb o'i flaen daeth allan gymylau, a chenllysg a cherrig tn.
12From the brightness before him his thick clouds passed forth: hail and coals of fire.
13 Taranodd yr ARGLWYDD o'r nefoedd, a llefarodd llais y Goruchaf.
13And Jehovah thundered in the heavens, and the Most High uttered his voice: hail and coals of fire.
14 Bwriodd allan ei saethau yma ac acw, saethodd fellt a gwneud iddynt atsain.
14And he sent his arrows, and scattered [mine enemies]; and he shot forth lightnings, and discomfited them.
15 Daeth gwaelodion y mr i'r golwg, a dinoethwyd sylfeini'r byd, oherwydd dy gerydd di, O ARGLWYDD, a chwythiad anadl dy ffroenau.
15And the beds of the waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were uncovered at thy rebuke, Jehovah, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
16 Ymestynnodd o'r uchelder a'm cymryd, tynnodd fi allan o'r dyfroedd cryfion.
16He reached forth from above, he took me, he drew me out of great waters:
17 Gwaredodd fi rhag fy ngelyn nerthol, rhag y rhai sy'n fy nghasu pan oeddent yn gryfach na mi.
17He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me; for they were mightier than I.
18 Daethant i'm herbyn yn nydd fy argyfwng, ond bu'r ARGLWYDD yn gynhaliaeth i mi.
18They encountered me in the day of my calamity, but Jehovah was my stay.
19 Dygodd fi allan i le agored, a'm gwaredu am ei fod yn fy hoffi.
19And he brought me forth into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
20 Gwnaeth yr ARGLWYDD mi yn l fy nghyfiawnder, a thalodd i mi yn l glendid fy nwylo.
20Jehovah hath rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
21 Oherwydd cedwais ffyrdd yr ARGLWYDD, heb droi oddi wrth fy Nuw at ddrygioni;
21For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
22 yr oedd ei holl gyfreithiau o'm blaen, ac ni fwriais ei ddeddfau o'r neilltu.
22For all his ordinances were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me;
23 Yr oeddwn yn ddi-fai yn ei olwg, a chedwais fy hun rhag troseddu.
23And I was upright with him, and kept myself from mine iniquity.
24 Talodd yr ARGLWYDD i mi yn l fy nghyfiawnder, ac yn l glendid fy nwylo yn ei olwg.
24And Jehovah hath recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
25 Yr wyt yn ffyddlon i'r ffyddlon, yn ddifeius i'r difeius,
25With the gracious thou dost shew thyself gracious; with the upright man thou dost shew thyself upright;
26 ac yn bur i'r rhai pur; ond i'r cyfeiliornus yr wyt yn wyrgam.
26With the pure thou dost shew thyself pure; and with the perverse thou dost shew thyself contrary.
27 Oherwydd yr wyt yn gwaredu'r rhai gostyngedig, ac yn darostwng y beilchion.
27For it is thou that savest the afflicted people; but the haughty eyes wilt thou bring down.
28 Ti sy'n goleuo fy llusern, ARGLWYDD; fy Nuw sy'n troi fy nhywyllwch yn ddisglair.
28For it is thou that makest my lamp to shine: Jehovah my God enlighteneth my darkness.
29 Oherwydd trwot ti y gallaf oresgyn llu; trwy fy Nuw gallaf neidio dros fur.
29For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
30 Y Duw hwn, y mae'n berffaith ei ffordd, ac y mae gair yr ARGLWYDD wedi ei brofi'n bur; y mae ef yn darian i bawb sy'n llochesu ynddo.
30As for ùGod, his way is perfect; the word of Jehovah is tried: he is a shield to all that trust in him.
31 Pwy sydd Dduw ond yr ARGLWYDD? a phwy sydd graig ond ein Duw ni,
31For who is +God save Jehovah? and who is a rock if not our God?
32 y Duw sy'n fy ngwregysu nerth, ac yn gwneud fy ffordd yn ddifeius?
32The ùGod who girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect,
33 Gwna fy nhraed fel rhai ewig, a'm gosod yn gadarn ar y mynyddoedd.
33Who maketh my feet like hinds' [feet], and setteth me upon my high places;
34 Y mae'n dysgu i'm dwylo ryfela, i'm breichiau dynnu bwa pres.
34Who teacheth my hands to war, and mine arms bend a bow of brass;
35 Rhoist imi dy darian i'm gwaredu, a'm cynnal 'th ddeheulaw, a'm gwneud yn fawr trwy dy ofal.
35And thou didst give me the shield of thy salvation, and thy right hand held me up; and thy condescending gentleness hath made me great.
36 Rhoist imi le llydan i'm camau, ac ni lithrodd fy nhraed.
36Thou didst enlarge my steps under me, and mine ankles have not wavered.
37 Yr wyf yn ymlid fy ngelynion ac yn eu dal; ni ddychwelaf nes eu difetha.
37I pursued mine enemies, and overtook them; and I turned not again till they were consumed.
38 Yr wyf yn eu trywanu fel na allant godi, ac y maent yn syrthio o dan fy nhraed.
38I crushed them, and they were not able to rise: they fell under my feet.
39 Yr wyt wedi fy ngwregysu nerth i'r frwydr, a darostwng fy ngelynion odanaf.
39And thou girdedst me with strength to battle; thou didst subdue under me those that rose up against me.
40 Gosodaist fy nhroed ar eu gwddf, a gwneud imi ddifetha'r rhai sy'n fy nghasu.
40And mine enemies didst thou make to turn their backs unto me, and those that hated me I destroyed.
41 Y maent yn gweiddi, ond nid oes gwaredydd, yn galw ar yr ARGLWYDD, ond nid yw'n eu hateb.
41They cried, and there was none to save; -- unto Jehovah, and he answered them not.
42 Fe'u maluriaf cyn faned llwch o flaen y gwynt, a'u sathru fel llaid ar y strydoedd.
42And I did beat them small as dust before the wind; I did cast them out as the mire of the streets.
43 Yr wyt yn fy ngwaredu rhag ymrafael pobl, ac yn fy ngwneud yn ben ar y cenhedloedd; pobl nad oeddwn yn eu hadnabod sy'n weision i mi.
43Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; thou hast made me the head of the nations: a people I knew not doth serve me.
44 Pan glywant amdanaf, maent yn ufuddhau i mi, ac estroniaid sy'n ymgreinio o'm blaen.
44At the hearing of the ear, they obey me: strangers come cringing unto me.
45 Y mae estroniaid yn gwangalonni, ac yn dyfod dan grynu o'u lloches.
45Strangers have faded away, and they come trembling forth from their close places.
46 Byw yw'r ARGLWYDD, bendigedig yw fy nghraig; dyrchafedig fyddo'r Duw sy'n fy ngwaredu,
46Jehovah liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation,
47 y Duw sy'n rhoi imi ddialedd, ac yn darostwng pobloedd odanaf,
47The ùGod who hath avenged me, and hath subjected the peoples to me;
48 sy'n fy ngwaredu rhag fy ngelynion, yn fy nyrchafu uwchlaw fy ngwrthwynebwyr, ac yn fy arbed rhag y gorthrymwyr.
48Who hath delivered me from mine enemies: yea, thou hast lifted me up above them that rose up against me; from the man of violence hast thou delivered me.
49 Oherwydd hyn, clodforaf di, O ARGLWYDD, ymysg y cenhedloedd, a chanaf fawl i'th enw.
49Therefore will I give thanks to thee, Jehovah, among the nations, and will sing psalms to thy name.
50 Y mae'n gwaredu ei frenin yn helaeth, ac yn cadw'n ffyddlon i'w eneiniog, i Ddafydd ac i'w had am byth.
50[It is he] who giveth great deliverances to his king, and sheweth loving-kindness to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
