¹ Daeth ei fab Jehosaffat yn frenin yn lle Asa, ac fe benderfynodd ef wrthsefyll Israel.

¹Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.

² Rhoddodd filwyr ym mhob un o ddinasoedd caerog Jwda, a gosod garsiynau yng ngwlad Jwda ac yn ninasoedd Effraim, sef y dinasoedd a gymerwyd gan ei dad Asa.

²He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

³ A bu'r ARGLWYDD gyda Jehosaffat am iddo ddilyn llwybrau cynnar ei dad Dafydd a gwrthod ymofyn �'r Baalim,

³Yahweh was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and didn’t seek the Baals,

⁴ a throi yn hytrach at Dduw ei hynafiaid a chadw ei orchmynion, a pheidio � dilyn esiampl Israel.

⁴but sought to the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.

⁵ Felly, sicrhaodd yr ARGLWYDD y frenhiniaeth yn llaw Jehosaffat, ac fe roddodd holl Jwda anrhegion iddo, nes bod ganddo olud a chyfoeth mawr iawn.

⁵Therefore Yahweh established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat tribute; and he had riches and honor in abundance.

⁶ Dilynodd yr ARGLWYDD yn ffyddlon, a hefyd fe dynnodd ymaith o Jwda yr uchelfeydd a'r delwau o Asera.

⁶His heart was lifted up in the ways of Yahweh: and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.

⁷ Yn nhrydedd flwyddyn ei deyrnasiad anfonodd ei dywysogion Ben-hail, Obadeia, Sechareia, Nethaneel a Michaia i ddysgu yn ninasoedd Jwda.

⁷Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben Hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;

⁸ Gyda hwy fe aeth y Lefiaid Semaia, Nethaneia, Sebadeia, Asahel, Semiramoth, Jehonathan, Adoneia, Tobeia a Tob-adoneia, a hefyd yr offeiriaid Elisama a Jehoram.

⁸and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.

⁹ Aeth y rhain i ddysgu yn Jwda, ac yr oedd llyfr cyfraith yr ARGLWYDD ganddynt; teithiasant trwy holl ddinasoedd Jwda gan hyfforddi'r bobl.

⁹They taught in Judah, having the book of the law of Yahweh with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.

¹⁰ Daeth ofn yr ARGLWYDD ar holl deyrnasoedd y gwledydd o amgylch Jwda, ac ni ddaethant i ryfela yn erbyn Jehosaffat.

¹⁰The fear of Yahweh fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.

¹¹ Daeth rhai o'r Philistiaid ag anrhegion ac arian teyrnged i Jehosaffat; a daeth yr Arabiaid � diadelloedd, sef saith mil saith gant o hyrddod a saith mil saith gant o fychod.

¹¹Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute; the Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.

¹² Aeth Jehosaffat o nerth i nerth. Adeiladodd gestyll a dinasoedd st�r yn Jwda, ac yr oedd yn gyfrifol am lawer o waith yn ninasoedd Jwda.

¹²Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles and cities of store.

¹³ Yr oedd ganddo hefyd filwyr nerthol yn Jerwsalem,

¹³He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.

¹⁴ wedi eu rhestru yn �l eu tywythau fel hyn. O Jwda, swyddogion ar uned o fil: Adna yn ben, a chydag ef dri chan mil o wroniaid;

¹⁴This was the numbering of them according to their fathers’ houses: Of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him mighty men of valor three hundred thousand;

¹⁵ y nesaf ato ef, Jehohanan, y capten, gyda dau gant wyth deg o filoedd;

¹⁵and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;

¹⁶ yna Amaseia fab Sichri, a oedd yn gwasanaethu'r ARGLWYDD o'i wirfodd, gyda dau gan mil o wroniaid.

¹⁶and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself to Yahweh; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.

¹⁷ O Benjamin: y gwron Eliada, gyda dau gan mil yn cario bwa a tharian;

¹⁷Of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;

¹⁸ yna Jehosabad, gyda chant wyth deg o filoedd yn barod i ryfel.

¹⁸and next to him Jehozabad and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready prepared for war.

¹⁹ Dyma'r rhai oedd yn gwasanaethu'r brenin, ar wah�n i'r rhai a osododd ef yn y dinasoedd caerog trwy holl Jwda.

¹⁹These were those who waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
