¹ Gwnaeth trigolion Jerwsalem ei fab ieuengaf Ahaseia yn frenin yn lle Jehoram, oherwydd yr oedd yr ymosodwyr a ddaeth i'r gwersyll gyda'r Arabiaid wedi lladd pob un o'r meibion hynaf. Dyna sut y daeth Ahaseia fab Jehoram, brenin Jwda, i'r orsedd.

¹The inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his place; for the band of men who came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.

² Dwy a deugain oed oedd Ahaseia pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd yn Jerwsalem am flwyddyn.

²Forty-two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.

³ Athaleia oedd enw ei fam, wyres Omri. Dilynodd yntau hefyd yr un llwybr � thu375? Ahab, oherwydd yr oedd ei fam yn ei arwain i wneud drwg.

³He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab; for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.

⁴ Gwnaeth yr hyn oedd ddrwg yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD, yn union fel y gwnaeth tu375? Ahab; oherwydd ar �l marw ei dad hwy oedd yn ei gynghori, er mawr niwed iddo.

⁴He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did the house of Ahab; for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction.

⁵ Fe gymerodd eu cyngor hwy, ac aeth gyda Joram fab Ahab, brenin Israel, i ryfel yn erbyn Hasael brenin Syria yn Ramoth-gilead.

⁵He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead: and the Syrians wounded Joram.

⁶ Ond anafodd y Syriaid Joram a chiliodd yntau i Jesreel i geisio gwellhad o'r clwyfau a gafodd yn Rama yn y frwydr yn erbyn Hasael brenin Syria. A daeth Ahaseia fab Jehoram, brenin Jwda, i edrych am Joram fab Ahab yn Jesreel am ei fod yn glaf.

⁶He returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which they had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

⁷ Penderfynodd Duw ddinistrio Ahaseia wrth iddo ymweld � Jehoram. Pan gyrhaeddodd Ahaseia, aeth allan gyda Jehoram yn erbyn Jehu fab Nimsi, a eneiniwyd gan yr ARGLWYDD i ddifodi tu375? Ahab.

⁷Now the destruction of Ahaziah was of God, in that he went to Joram: for when he had come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom Yahweh had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

⁸ Fel yr oedd Jehu yn cosbi tu375? Ahab, daeth o hyd i dywysogion Jwda a meibion brodyr Ahaseia, a fu'n gwasanaethu Ahaseia, ac fe'u lladdodd.

⁸It happened, when Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab, that he found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brothers of Ahaziah, ministering to Ahaziah, and killed them.

⁹ Yna aeth i chwilio am Ahaseia. Daliwyd Ahaseia yn cuddio yn Samaria, a chafodd ei ddwyn at Jehu a'i roi i farwolaeth. Claddwyd ef mewn bedd, oherwydd dywedasant, "Yr oedd yn u373?yr i Jehosaffat, a geisiodd yr ARGLWYDD �'i holl galon." Felly nid oedd neb o du375? Ahaseia yn ddigon grymus i deyrnasu.

⁹He sought Ahaziah, and they caught him (now he was hiding in Samaria), and they brought him to Jehu, and killed him; and they buried him, for they said, “He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought Yahweh with all his heart.” The house of Ahaziah had no power to hold the kingdom.

¹⁰ Pan welodd Athaleia, mam Ahaseia, fod ei mab wedi marw, aeth ati i ddifodi holl linach frenhinol tu375? Jwda.

¹⁰Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal seed of the house of Judah.

¹¹ Ond cymerwyd Jehoas fab Ahaseia gan Jehoseba, merch y brenin, a'i ddwyn yn ddirgel o blith plant y brenin, a oedd i'w lladd, a'i roi ef a'i famaeth mewn ystafell wely. Felly y cuddiwyd ef rhag Athaleia, fel na allai ei ladd, gan Jehoseba, merch y Brenin Jehoram, gwraig Jehoiada yr offeiriad, oherwydd yr oedd hi'n chwaer i Ahaseia.

¹¹But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were slain, and put him and his nurse in the bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah), hid him from Athaliah, so that she didn’t kill him.

¹² A bu ynghadw gyda hwy yn nhu375? Dduw am chwe blynedd, tra oedd Athaleia'n rheoli'r wlad.

¹²He was with them hidden in God’s house six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land.
