1 Yn y seithfed flwyddyn ymwrolodd Jehoiada, a gwnaeth gynghrair �'r capteiniaid, Asareia fab Jeroham, Ismael fab Jehohanan, Asareia fab Obed, Maaseia fab Adaia, ac Elisaffat fab Sichri.
1In the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.
2 Aethant hwythau trwy Jwda a chasglu'r Lefiaid o bob dinas, a phennau-teuluoedd Israel, i ddod i Jerwsalem.
2They went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the heads of fathers’ households of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.
3 Yna gwnaeth y gynulleidfa gyfan gyfamod �'r brenin yn nhu375? Dduw. Dywedodd Jehoiada wrthynt, "Dyma fab y brenin! Bydded iddo deyrnasu, fel y dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD y gwn�i meibion Dafydd.
3All the assembly made a covenant with the king in God’s house. He said to them, “Behold, the king’s son shall reign, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the sons of David.
4 Dyma'r hyn a wnewch: y mae traean ohonoch chwi'r offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid, sy'n dod ar ddyletswydd ar y Saboth, i wylio'r pyrth;
4This is the thing that you shall do. A third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters of the thresholds.
5 traean arall i aros yn nhu375?'r brenin, a thraean i fod wrth Borth y Sylfaen. Bydded i'r holl bobl aros yng nghynteddau tu375?'r ARGLWYDD.
5A third part shall be at the king’s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation. All the people shall be in the courts of Yahweh’s house.
6 Nid oes neb i fynd i mewn i du375?'r ARGLWYDD ond yr offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid sydd ar ddyletswydd; c�nt hwy fynd am eu bod yn sanctaidd; rhaid i bawb arall gadw gorchymyn yr ARGLWYDD.
6But let no one come into the house of Yahweh, except the priests, and those who minister of the Levites. They shall come in, for they are holy, but all the people shall follow Yahweh’s instructions.
7 Y mae'r Lefiaid i sefyll o amgylch y brenin, pob un �'i arfau yn ei law, a lladder pwy bynnag a ddaw i mewn i'r tu375?; byddant gyda'r brenin lle bynnag yr �."
7The Levites shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand. Whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. Be with the king when he comes in, and when he goes out.”
8 Gwnaeth y Lefiaid a holl Jwda bopeth a orchmynnodd yr offeiriad Jehoiada, pob un yn cymryd ei gwmni, y rhai oedd ar ddyletswydd ar y Saboth, a'r rhai oedd yn rhydd, oherwydd nid oedd yr offeiriad Jehoiada wedi rhyddhau yr un o'r adrannau.
8So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath; with those who were to go out on the Sabbath; for Jehoiada the priest didn’t dismiss the shift.
9 Yna rhoddodd yr offeiriad Jehoiada i'r capteiniaid y gwaywffyn, y tarianau a'r bwcledi a fu gan Ddafydd ac a oedd yn nhu375? Dduw.
9Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David’s, which were in God’s house.
10 Gwnaeth i'r holl bobl sefyll i amgylchu'r brenin, pob un �'i arf yn ei law, ar draws y tu375? o'r ochr dde i'r ochr chwith, o gwmpas yr allor a'r tu375?.
10He set all the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, along by the altar and the house, around the king.
11 Yna dygwyd mab y brenin gerbron, a rhoi'r goron a'r warant iddo. Urddodd Jehoiada a'i feibion ef, a'i eneinio, a dweud, "Byw fyddo'r brenin!"
11Then they brought out the king’s son, and put the crown on him, and gave him the testimony, and made him king: and Jehoiada and his sons anointed him; and they said, “Long live the king!”
12 Clywodd Athaleia drwst y bobl yn rhedeg ac yn clodfori'r brenin, a daeth atynt i du375?'r ARGLWYDD.
12When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of Yahweh:
13 Pan welodd hi y brenin yn sefyll wrth ei golofn yn y fynedfa, gyda'r capteiniaid a'r trwmpedau o amgylch y brenin, a holl bobl y wlad yn llawenhau ac yn canu trwmpedau, a'r cantorion gydag offerynnau yn arwain y moliant, rhwygodd ei dillad a gweiddi, "Brad! brad!"
13and she looked, and, behold, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, and the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets; the singers also played musical instruments, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and said, “Treason! treason!”
14 Gorchmynnodd yr offeiriad Jehoiada i'r capteiniaid, swyddogion y fyddin, "Ewch � hi y tu allan i gyffiniau'r tu375?, a lladder �'r cleddyf unrhyw un sy'n ei dilyn; ond peidier," meddai'r offeiriad, "�'i lladd yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD."
14Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t kill her in the Yahweh’s house.”
15 Felly daliasant hi fel yr oedd yn cyrraedd mynedfa Porth y Meirch i'r palas, a'i lladd yno.
15So they made way for her. She went to the entrance of the horse gate to the king’s house; and they killed her there.
16 Gwnaeth Jehoiada gyfamod y byddai ef ei hun a'r holl bobl a'r brenin yn bobl i'r ARGLWYDD.
16Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, and all the people, and the king, that they should be Yahweh’s people.
17 Aeth yr holl bobl at deml Baal a'i thynnu i lawr, a dryllio'i hallorau a'i delwau'n chwilfriw, a lladd Mattan, offeiriad Baal, o flaen yr allorau.
17All the people went to the house of Baal, and broke it down, and broke his altars and his images in pieces, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.
18 Yna rhoddodd Jehoiada y cyfrifoldeb o edrych ar �l tu375?'r ARGLWYDD i'r offeiriaid oedd yn Lefiaid, ac a osodwyd gan Ddafydd dros du375?'r ARGLWYDD i offrymu poethoffrymau i'r ARGLWYDD, fel y mae'n ysgrifenedig yn neddf Moses, ac i wneud hynny gyda llawenydd a ch�n yn �l trefn Dafydd.
18Jehoiada appointed the officers of the house of Yahweh under the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of Yahweh, to offer the burnt offerings of Yahweh, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, according to the order of David.
19 Gosododd y porthorion wrth byrth tu375?'r ARGLWYDD i sicrhau na fyddai neb oedd yn aflan mewn unrhyw ffordd yn mynd i mewn.
19He set the porters at the gates of the house of Yahweh, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.
20 Yna daeth Jehoiada �'r capteiniaid, y pendefigion, llywodraethwyr y bobl a holl bobl y wlad, i hebrwng y brenin o du375?'r ARGLWYDD. Daethant trwy'r porth uchaf i'r palas, a gosod y brenin ar yr orsedd frenhinol.
20He took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of Yahweh: and they came through the upper gate to the king’s house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.
21 Llawenhaodd holl bobl y wlad, a daeth llonyddwch i'r ddinas wedi lladd Athaleia �'r cleddyf.
21So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. Athaliah they had slain with the sword.
