2 Chronicles

34

1 Wyth mlwydd oed oedd Joseia pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd am dri deg ac un o flynyddoedd yn Jerwsalem.
1Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem.
2 Gwnaeth yr hyn oedd uniawn yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD, a dilyn llwybrau ei dad Dafydd yn gwbl ddiwyro.
2He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, and walked in the ways of David his father, and didn’t turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
3 Yn yr wythfed flwyddyn o'i deyrnasiad, ac yntau'n dal yn llanc ifanc, dechreuodd geisio Duw ei dad Dafydd. Yn y ddeuddegfed flwyddyn, dechreuodd buro Jwda a Jerwsalem o'r uchelfeydd, y pyst Asera, y cerfddelwau a'r delwau tawdd.
3For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the Asherim, and the engraved images, and the molten images.
4 Gorchmynnodd ddinistrio allorau'r Baalim, a thorrodd i lawr yr allorau arogldarth a oedd uwch eu pen; drylliodd yn chwilfriw y pyst Asera, y cerfddelwau a'r delwau tawdd; malodd hwy'n yfflon a thaenu eu llwch hyd wyneb beddau y rhai a fu'n aberthu iddynt.
4They broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence; and the incense altars that were on high above them he cut down; and the Asherim, and the engraved images, and the molten images, he broke in pieces, and made dust of them, and strewed it on the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.
5 Llosgodd esgyrn yr offeiriaid ar eu hallorau, a phurodd Jwda a Jerwsalem.
5He burnt the bones of the priests on their altars, and purged Judah and Jerusalem.
6 Gwnaeth yr un peth yn ninasoedd Manasse, Effraim a Simeon, hyd at Nafftali, ac yn yr adfeilion o'u cwmpas,
6He did this in the cities of Manasseh and Ephraim and Simeon, even to Naphtali, around in their ruins.
7 sef dryllio'r allorau a'r pyst Asera, a malu'r cerfluniau'n yfflon a dinistrio'r holl arogldarth trwy Israel gyfan; yna dychwelodd i Jerwsalem.
7He broke down the altars, and beat the Asherim and the engraved images into powder, and cut down all the incense altars throughout all the land of Israel, and returned to Jerusalem.
8 Yn y ddeunawfed flwyddyn o'i deyrnasiad, ar l puro'r wlad a'r deml, anfonodd Saffan fab Asaleia, Maaseia rheolwr y ddinas a Joa fab Joahas y cofiadur i atgyweirio tu375?'r ARGLWYDD ei Dduw.
8Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of Yahweh his God.
9 Pan ddaethant at Hilceia yr archoffeiriad rhoesant iddo'r arian a ddygwyd i du375? Dduw ac a gasglodd y Lefiaid, ceidwaid y drws, oddi wrth Manasse ac Effraim a gweddill Israel, ac o holl Jwda, Benjamin a thrigolion Jerwsalem.
9They came to Hilkiah the high priest, and delivered the money that was brought into God’s house, which the Levites, the keepers of the threshold, had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin, and of the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
10 Yna rhoddwyd ef i'r goruchwylwyr oedd yn gofalu am du375?'r ARGLWYDD; rhoddasant hwythau ef i'r gweithwyr oedd yn gweithio yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD ac yn atgyweirio'i agennau.
10They delivered it into the hand of the workmen who had the oversight of the house of Yahweh; and the workmen who labored in the house of Yahweh gave it to mend and repair the house;
11 Fe'i rhoesant hefyd i'r seiri a'r adeiladwyr i brynu cerrig nadd a choed ar gyfer distiau a thrawstiau i'r adeiladau yr oedd brenhinoedd Jwda wedi eu hesgeuluso.
11even to the carpenters and to the builders gave they it, to buy cut stone, and timber for couplings, and to make beams for the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.
12 Yr oedd y dynion yn gweithio'n ddiwyd dan oruchwyliaeth y Lefiaid oedd yn eu hannog, sef Jahath ac Obadeia o feibion Merari, a Sechareia a Mesulam o feibion y Cohathiaid. Ac yr oedd y Lefiaid, pob un a fedrai ganu offeryn cerdd,
12The men did the work faithfully: and their overseers were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and others of the Levites, all who were skillful with instruments of music.
13 hefyd yn gofalu am y cludwyr ac yn arolygu pob gweithiwr, beth bynnag oedd ei waith. Yr oedd rhai o'r Lefiaid hefyd yn ysgrifenyddion, swyddogion a phorthorion.
13Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and set forward all who did the work in every kind of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters.
14 Wrth iddynt ddwyn allan yr arian a ddygwyd i du375?'r ARGLWYDD, darganfu Hilceia'r offeiriad lyfr cyfraith yr ARGLWYDD, a roddwyd trwy Moses.
14When they brought out the money that was brought into the house of Yahweh, Hilkiah the priest found the book of the law of Yahweh given by Moses.
15 Dywedodd Hilceia wrth Saffan yr ysgrifennydd, "Cefais lyfr y gyfraith yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD." A rhoddodd y llyfr i Saffan.
15Hilkiah answered Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the book of the law in the house of Yahweh.” Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.
16 Aeth Saffan 'r llyfr at y brenin a'r un pryd rhoi adroddiad iddo a dweud, "Y mae dy weision yn gwneud y cwbl a orchmynnwyd iddynt.
16Shaphan carried the book to the king, and moreover brought back word to the king, saying, “All that was committed to your servants, they are doing.
17 Y maent wedi cyfrif yr arian oedd yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD ac wedi ei drosglwyddo i'r ymgymerwyr a'r gweithwyr."
17They have emptied out the money that was found in the house of Yahweh, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and into the hand of the workmen.”
18 Ac ychwanegodd Saffan yr ysgrifennydd wrth y brenin, "Rhoddodd Hilceia'r offeiriad lyfr imi"; a darllenodd Saffan ef i'r brenin.
18Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, “Hilkiah the priest has delivered me a book.” Shaphan read therein before the king.
19 Pan glywodd y brenin gynnwys y gyfraith, rhwygodd ei ddillad,
19It happened, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he tore his clothes.
20 a gorchmynnodd i Hilceia ac i Ahicam fab Saffan, ac i Abdon fab Nicha, ac i Saffan yr ysgrifennydd ac i Asaia gwas y brenin,
20The king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying,
21 "Ewch i ymgynghori 'r ARGLWYDD ar fy rhan, ac ar ran pawb sydd ar l yn Israel a Jwda, ynglu375?n chynnwys y llyfr a ddaeth i'r golwg; oherwydd y mae llid yr ARGLWYDD yn fawr, ac wedi ei ennyn yn ein herbyn am na chadwodd ein hynafiaid air yr ARGLWYDD na gwneud yr hyn a ysgrifennwyd yn y llyfr hwn."
21“Go inquire of Yahweh for me, and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found; for great is the wrath of Yahweh that is poured out on us, because our fathers have not kept the word of Yahweh, to do according to all that is written in this book.”
22 Yna aeth Hilceia, a'r rhai a orchmynnodd y brenin, at y broffwydes Hulda, gwraig Salum fab Ticfa, fab Hasra, ceidwad y gwisgoedd. Yr oedd hi'n byw yn yr Ail Barth yn Jerwsalem; ac wedi iddynt ddweud eu neges,
22So Hilkiah, and they whom the king had commanded, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter;) and they spoke to her to that effect.
23 dywedodd hi wrthynt, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel. Dywedwch wrth y gu373?r a'ch anfonodd ataf,
23She said to them, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: ‘Tell the man who sent you to me,
24 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Yr wyf yn dwyn drwg ar y lle hwn a'i drigolion, sef yr holl felltithion sy'n ysgrifenedig yn y llyfr a ddarllenwyd yng ngu373?ydd brenin Jwda,
24“Thus says Yahweh, ‘Behold, I will bring evil on this place, and on its inhabitants, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah.
25 am eu bod wedi fy ngwrthod ac wedi arogldarthu i dduwiau eraill, i'm digio ym mhopeth a wnnt; y mae fy nig wedi ei ennyn yn erbyn y lle hwn, ac nis diffoddir.'
25Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore is my wrath poured out on this place, and it shall not be quenched.’”’
26 Dyma a ddywedwch wrth frenin Jwda, a'ch anfonodd i ymgynghori 'r ARGLWYDD: 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel, ynglu375?n 'r geiriau a glywaist:
26But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Yahweh, thus you shall tell him, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: “As touching the words which you have heard,
27 Am i'th galon dyneru ac iti ymostwng o flaen Duw pan glywaist ei eiriau am y lle hwn a'i drigolion, am iti ymostwng ac wylo o'i flaen, a rhwygo dy ddillad, yr wyf finnau wedi gwrando, medd yr ARGLWYDD.
27because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God, when you heard his words against this place, and against its inhabitants, and have humbled yourself before me, and have torn your clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard you,” says Yahweh.
28 Am hynny pan fyddi farw, dygir di i'r bedd mewn heddwch, ac ni wl dy lygaid yr holl ddrwg a ddygaf ar y lle hwn a'i drigolion.'" Dygasant hwythau'r ateb i'r brenin.
28“Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, neither shall your eyes see all the evil that I will bring on this place, and on its inhabitants.”’” They brought back word to the king.
29 Yna anfonodd y brenin a chasglu ynghyd holl henuriaid Jwda a Jerwsalem;
29Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
30 ac aeth i fyny i du375?'r ARGLWYDD, a holl bobl Jwda a thrigolion Jerwsalem gydag ef, a hefyd yr offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid a phawb o'r bobl, o'r lleiaf hyd y mwyaf. Yna darllenodd yn eu clyw holl gynnwys y llyfr cyfamod a gaed yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD.
30The king went up to the house of Yahweh, and all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, both great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of Yahweh.
31 Safodd y brenin wrth ei golofn, a gwnaeth gyfamod o flaen yr ARGLWYDD i ddilyn yr ARGLWYDD ac i gadw ei orchmynion a'i dystiolaethau a'i ddeddfau 'i holl galon ac 'i holl enaid, ac i gyflawni geiriau'r cyfamod a ysgrifennwyd yn y llyfr hwn.
31The king stood in his place, and made a covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.
32 Gwnaeth i bawb oedd yn byw yn Jerwsalem a Benjamin gadw'r cyfamod. Yna cadwodd trigolion Jerwsalem gyfamod Duw, Duw eu hynafiaid.
32He caused all who were found in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand. The inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.
33 Felly tynnodd Joseia ymaith bob ffieidddra o'r holl diriogaeth oedd yn perthyn i'r Israeliaid, a gwnaeth i bawb oedd yn byw yn Israel wasanaethu'r ARGLWYDD eu Duw. Yn ei gyfnod ef ni throesant oddi ar l yr ARGLWYDD, Duw eu hynafiaid.
33Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all who were found in Israel to serve, even to serve Yahweh their God. All his days they didn’t depart from following Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
