28

1 Wedi inni ddod i ddiogelwch, cawsom wybod mai Melita y gelwid yr ynys.
1When we had escaped, then they learned that the island was called Malta.
2 Dangosodd y brodorion garedigrwydd anghyffredin tuag atom. Cyneuasant goelcerth, a'n croesawu ni bawb at y tn, oherwydd yr oedd yn dechrau glawio, ac yn oer.
2The natives showed us uncommon kindness; for they kindled a fire, and received us all, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
3 Casglodd Paul beth wmbredd o danwydd, ac wedi iddo'u rhoi ar y tn, daeth gwiber allan o'r gwres, a glynu wrth ei law.
3But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
4 Pan welodd y brodorion y neidr ynghrog wrth ei law, meddent wrth ei gilydd, "Llofrudd, yn sicr, yw'r dyn yma, ac er ei fod wedi dianc yn ddiogel o'r mr nid yw'r dduwies Cyfiawnder wedi gadael iddo fyw."
4When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said one to another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped from the sea, yet Justice has not allowed to live.”
5 Yna, ysgydwodd ef y neidr ymaith i'r tn, heb gael dim niwed;
5However he shook off the creature into the fire, and wasn’t harmed.
6 yr oeddent hwy'n disgwyl iddo ddechrau chwyddo, neu syrthio'n farw yn sydyn. Ar l iddynt ddisgwyl yn hir, a gweld nad oedd dim anghyffredin yn digwydd iddo, newidiasant eu meddwl a dechrau dweud mai duw ydoedd.
6But they expected that he would have swollen or fallen down dead suddenly, but when they watched for a long time and saw nothing bad happen to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
7 Yng nghyffiniau'r lle hwnnw, yr oedd tiroedd gan u373?r blaenaf yr ynys, un o'r enw Poplius. Derbyniodd hwn ni, a'n lletya yn gyfeillgar am dridiau.
7Now in the neighborhood of that place were lands belonging to the chief man of the island, named Publius, who received us, and courteously entertained us for three days.
8 Yr oedd tad Poplius yn digwydd bod yn gorwedd yn glaf, yn dioddef gan byliau o dwymyn a chan ddisentri. Aeth Paul i mewn ato, a chan weddo a rhoi ei ddwylo arno, fe'i hiachaodd.
8It happened that the father of Publius lay sick of fever and dysentery. Paul entered in to him, prayed, and laying his hands on him, healed him.
9 Wedi i hyn ddigwydd, daeth y lleill yn yr ynys oedd dan afiechyd ato hefyd, a chael eu hiachu.
9Then when this was done, the rest also who had diseases in the island came, and were cured.
10 Rhoddodd y bobl hyn anrhydeddau lawer inni, ac wrth inni gychwyn ymaith, ein llwytho phopeth y byddai arnom ei angen.
10They also honored us with many honors, and when we sailed, they put on board the things that we needed.
11 Tri mis yn ddiweddarach, hwyliasom i ffwrdd mewn llong o Alexandria oedd wedi bwrw'r gaeaf yn yr ynys, a'r Efeilliaid Nefol yn arwydd arni.
11After three months, we set sail in a ship of Alexandria which had wintered in the island, whose sign was “The Twin Brothers.”
12 Wedi cyrraedd Syracwsai, ac aros yno dridiau, hwyliasom oddi yno a dod i Rhegium.
12Touching at Syracuse, we stayed there three days.
13 Ar l diwrnod cododd gwynt o'r de, a'r ail ddydd daethom i Puteoli.
13From there we circled around and arrived at Rhegium. After one day, a south wind sprang up, and on the second day we came to Puteoli,
14 Yno cawsom hyd i gyd-gredinwyr, a gwahoddwyd ni i aros gyda hwy am saith diwrnod. A dyna sut y daethom i Rufain.
14where we found brothers, and were entreated to stay with them for seven days. So we came to Rome.
15 Pan glywodd y credinwyr yno amdanom, daethant allan cyn belled Marchnad Apius a'r Tair Tafarn i'n cyfarfod. Pan welodd Paul hwy, fe ddiolchodd i Dduw, ac ymwrolodd.
15From there the brothers, when they heard of us, came to meet us as far as The Market of Appius and The Three Taverns. When Paul saw them, he thanked God, and took courage.
16 Pan aethom i mewn i Rufain fe ganiatawyd i Paul letya ar ei ben ei hun, gyda'r milwr oedd yn ei warchod.
16When we entered into Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard, but Paul was allowed to stay by himself with the soldier who guarded him.
17 Ymhen tridiau, galwodd Paul ynghyd yr arweinwyr ymysg yr Iddewon. Wedi iddynt ddod at ei gilydd, dywedodd wrthynt, "Er nad wyf fi, frodyr, wedi gwneud dim yn erbyn fy mhobl na defodau'r hynafiaid, cefais fy nhraddodi yn garcharor o Jerwsalem i ddwylo'r Rhufeiniaid.
17It happened that after three days Paul called together those who were the leaders of the Jews. When they had come together, he said to them, “I, brothers, though I had done nothing against the people, or the customs of our fathers, still was delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans,
18 Yr oeddent hwy, wedi iddynt fy holi, yn dymuno fy ngollwng yn rhydd, am nad oedd dim rheswm dros fy rhoi i farwolaeth.
18who, when they had examined me, desired to set me free, because there was no cause of death in me.
19 Ond oherwydd gwrthwynebiad yr Iddewon, cefais fy ngorfodi i apelio at Gesar; nid bod gennyf unrhyw gyhuddiad yn erbyn fy nghenedl.
19But when the Jews spoke against it, I was constrained to appeal to Caesar, not that I had anything about which to accuse my nation.
20 Dyna'r rheswm, ynteu, fy mod wedi gofyn am eich gweld a chael ymddiddan chwi; oherwydd o achos gobaith Israel y mae gennyf y gadwyn hon amdanaf."
20For this cause therefore I asked to see you and to speak with you. For because of the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.”
21 Dywedasant hwythau wrtho, "Nid ydym wedi derbyn unrhyw lythyr amdanat ti o Jwdea, ac ni ddaeth neb o'n cydIddewon yma chwaith i adrodd na llefaru dim drwg amdanat ti.
21They said to him, “We neither received letters from Judea concerning you, nor did any of the brothers come here and report or speak any evil of you.
22 Ond fe garem glywed gennyt ti beth yw dy ddaliadau; oherwydd fe wyddom ni am y sect hon, ei bod yn cael ei gwrthwynebu ym mhobman."
22But we desire to hear from you what you think. For, as concerning this sect, it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.”
23 Penasant ddiwrnod iddo, a daethant ato i'w lety, nifer mawr ohonynt. O fore tan nos, bu yntau yn esbonio iddynt, gan dystiolaethu am deyrnas Dduw, a mynd ati i'w hargyhoeddi ynghylch Iesu ar sail Cyfraith Moses a'r proffwydi.
23When they had appointed him a day, many people came to him at his lodging. He explained to them, testifying about the Kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning until evening.
24 Yr oedd rhai yn credu ei eiriau, ac eraill ddim yn credu;
24Some believed the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved.
25 ac yr oeddent yn dechrau ymwahanu, mewn anghytundeb 'i gilydd, pan ddywedodd Paul un gair ymhellach: "Da y llefarodd yr Ysbryd Gln, trwy'r proffwyd Eseia, wrth eich hynafiaid chwi, gan ddweud:
25When they didn’t agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had spoken one word, “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah, the prophet, to our fathers,
26 'Dos at y bobl yma a dywed, "Er clywed a chlywed, ni ddeallwch ddim; er edrych ac edrych, ni welwch ddim."
26saying, ‘Go to this people, and say, in hearing, you will hear, but will in no way understand. In seeing, you will see, but will in no way perceive.
27 Canys brasawyd calon y bobl yma, y mae eu clyw yn drwm, a'u llygaid wedi cau; rhag iddynt weld 'u llygaid, a chlywed 'u clustiau, a deall 'u calon a throi'n l, i mi eu hiachu.'
27For this people’s heart has grown callous. Their ears are dull of hearing. Their eyes they have closed. Lest they should see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and would turn again, and I would heal them.’
28 Bydded hysbys, felly, i chwi fod yr iachawdwriaeth hon, sydd oddi wrth Dduw, wedi ei hanfon at y Cenhedloedd; fe wrandawant hwy."
28“Be it known therefore to you, that the salvation of God is sent to the nations. They will also listen.”
29 [{cf15i Ac wedi iddo ddweud hyn, ymadawodd yr Iddewon, gan ddadlau'n frwd 'i gilydd.}]
29When he had said these words, the Jews departed, having a great dispute among themselves.
30 Arhosodd Paul ddwy flynedd gyfan yno ar ei gost ei hun, a byddai'n derbyn pawb a ddi i mewn ato,
30Paul stayed two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who were coming to him,
31 gan gyhoeddi teyrnas Dduw a dysgu am yr Arglwydd Iesu Grist yn gwbl agored, heb neb yn ei wahardd.
31preaching the Kingdom of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, without hindrance.
