Acts

4

1 Tra oeddent yn llefaru wrth y bobl, daeth yr offeiriaid a phrif swyddog gwarchodlu'r deml a'r Sadwceaid ar eu gwarthaf,
1As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,
2 yn flin am eu bod hwy'n dysgu'r bobl ac yn cyhoeddi ynglu375?n Iesu yr atgyfodiad oddi wrth y meirw.
2being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 Cymerasant afael arnynt a'u rhoi mewn dalfa hyd drannoeth, oherwydd yr oedd hi'n hwyr eisoes.
3They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.
4 Ond daeth llawer o'r rhai oedd wedi clywed y gair yn gredinwyr, ac aeth eu nifer i gyd yn rhyw bum mil.
4But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
5 Trannoeth bu cyfarfod o lywodraethwyr a henuriaid ac ysgrifenyddion yr Iddewon yn Jerwsalem.
5It happened in the morning, that their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.
6 Yr oedd Annas yr archoffeiriad yno, a Caiaffas ac Ioan ac Alexander a phawb oedd o deulu archoffeiriadol.
6Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.
7 Rhoesant y carcharorion i sefyll gerbron, a dechrau eu holi, "Trwy ba nerth neu drwy ba enw y gwnaethoch chwi hyn?"
7When they had stood them in the middle of them, they inquired, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”
8 Yna, wedi ei lenwi 'r Ysbryd Gln, dywedodd Pedr wrthynt: "Lywodraethwyr y bobl, a henuriaid,
8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 os ydym ni heddiw yn cael ein croesholi am gymwynas i ddyn claf, a sut y mae wedi cael ei iachu,
9if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,
10 bydded hysbys i chwi i gyd ac i holl bobl Israel mai trwy enw Iesu Grist o Nasareth, a groeshoeliasoch chwi ac a gyfododd Duw oddi wrth y meirw, trwy ei enw ef y mae hwn yn sefyll ger eich bron yn iach.
10be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole.
11 Iesu yw 'Y maen a ddiystyrwyd gennych chwi yr adeiladwyr, ac a ddaeth yn faen y gongl.'
11He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’
12 Ac nid oes iachawdwriaeth yn neb arall, oblegid nid oes enw arall dan y nef, wedi ei roi i'r ddynolryw, y mae'n rhaid i ni gael ein hachub drwyddo."
12There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
13 Wrth weld hyder Pedr ac Ioan, a sylweddoli mai lleygwyr annysgedig oeddent, yr oeddent yn rhyfeddu. Yr oeddent yn sylweddoli hefyd eu bod hwy wedi bod gydag Iesu.
13Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus.
14 Ac wrth weld y dyn oedd wedi ei iachu yn sefyll gyda hwy, nid oedd ganddynt ddim ateb.
14Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 Ac wedi gorchymyn iddynt fynd allan o'r llys, dechreusant ymgynghori 'i gilydd.
15But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 "Beth a wnawn," meddent, "'r dynion hyn? Oherwydd y mae'n amlwg i bawb sy'n preswylio yn Jerwsalem fod gwyrth hynod wedi digwydd trwyddynt hwy, ac ni allwn ni wadu hynny.
16saying, “What shall we do to these men? Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we can’t deny it.
17 Ond rhag taenu'r peth ymhellach ymhlith y bobl, gadewch inni eu rhybuddio nad ydynt i lefaru mwyach yn yr enw hwn wrth neb o gwbl."
17But so that this spreads no further among the people, let’s threaten them, that from now on they don’t speak to anyone in this name.”
18 Galwasant hwy i mewn, a gorchymyn nad oeddent i siarad na dysgu o gwbl yn enw Iesu.
18They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 Ond atebodd Pedr ac Ioan hwy: "A yw'n iawn yng ngolwg Duw wrando arnoch chwi yn hytrach nag ar Dduw? Barnwch chwi.
19But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,
20 Ni allwn ni dewi sn am y pethau yr ydym wedi eu gweld a'u clywed."
20for we can’t help telling the things which we saw and heard.”
21 Ar l eu rhybuddio ymhellach gollyngodd y llys hwy'n rhydd, heb gael dim modd i'w cosbi, oherwydd y bobl; oblegid yr oedd pawb yn gogoneddu Duw am yr hyn oedd wedi digwydd.
21When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.
22 Yr oedd y dyn y gwnaethpwyd y wyrth iachaol hon arno dros ddeugain mlwydd oed.
22For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.
23 Wedi eu gollwng, aethant at eu pobl eu hunain ac adrodd y cyfan yr oedd y prif offeiriaid a'r henuriaid wedi ei ddweud wrthynt.
23Being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
24 Wedi clywed, codasant hwythau eu llef yn unfryd at Dduw: "O Benllywydd, tydi a wnaeth y nef a'r ddaear a'r mr a phob peth sydd ynddynt,
24When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, “O Lord, you are God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;
25 ac a ddywedodd drwy'r Ysbryd Gln yng ngenau Dafydd dy was, ein tad ni: 'Pam y terfysgodd y Cenhedloedd ac y cynlluniodd y bobloedd bethau ofer?
25who by the mouth of your servant, David, said, ‘Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?
26 Safodd brenhinoedd y ddaear, ac ymgasglodd y llywodraethwyr ynghyd yn erbyn yr Arglwydd ac yn erbyn ei Feseia ef.'
26The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take council together, against the Lord, and against his Christ .’
27 Canys ymgasglodd yn wir yn y ddinas hon yn erbyn dy Was sanctaidd, Iesu, yr hwn a eneiniaist, Herod a Pontius Pilat ynghyd 'r Cenhedloedd a phobloedd Israel,
27“For truly, in this city against your holy servant, Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together
28 i wneud yr holl bethau y rhagluniodd dy law a'th gyngor di iddynt ddod.
28to do whatever your hand and your council foreordained to happen.
29 Ac yn awr, Arglwydd, edrych ar eu bygythion, a dyro i'th weision lefaru dy air phob hyder,
29Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,
30 a thithau yn estyn dy law i beri iachd ac arwyddion a rhyfeddodau drwy enw dy Was sanctaidd, Iesu."
30while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus.”
31 Ac wedi iddynt weddo, ysgydwyd y lle yr oeddent wedi ymgynnull ynddo, a llanwyd hwy oll 'r Ysbryd Gln, a llefarasant air Duw yn hy.
31When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
32 Yr oedd y lliaws credinwyr o un galon ac enaid, ac ni fyddai neb yn dweud am ddim o'i feddiannau mai ei eiddo ef ei hun ydoedd, ond yr oedd ganddynt bopeth yn gyffredin.
32The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
33 nerth mawr yr oedd yr apostolion yn rhoi eu tystiolaeth am atgyfodiad yr Arglwydd Iesu, a gras mawr oedd arnynt oll.
33With great power, the apostles gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all.
34 Yn wir, nid oedd neb anghenus yn eu plith, oherwydd byddai pawb oedd yn berchenogion tiroedd neu dai yn eu gwerthu, a dod 'r tl am y pethau a werthid,
34For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,
35 a'i roi wrth draed yr apostolion; a rhennid i bawb yn l fel y byddai angen pob un.
35and laid them at the apostles’ feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.
36 Yr oedd Joseff, a gyfenwid Barnabas gan yr apostolion (sef, o'i gyfieithu, Mab Anogaeth), Lefiad, Cypriad o enedigaeth,
36Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of Encouragement), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race,
37 yn berchen darn o dir, a gwerthodd ef, a daeth 'r arian a'i roi wrth draed yr apostolion.
37having a field, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
