¹ Ar ddiwrnod cyntaf y trydydd mis wedi i'r Israeliaid adael gwlad yr Aifft, daethant i anialwch Sinai.

¹In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.

² Wedi iddynt ymadael � Reffidim a chyrraedd anialwch Sinai, cododd Israel wersyll yno gyferbyn �'r mynydd.

²When they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mountain.

³ Aeth Moses i fyny at fynydd Duw, a galwodd yr ARGLWYDD arno o'r mynydd a dweud, "Fel hyn y dywedi wrth dylwyth Jacob ac wrth bobl Israel:

³Moses went up to God, and Yahweh called to him out of the mountain, saying, “This is what you shall tell the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:

⁴ 'Fe welsoch yr hyn a wneuthum i'r Eifftiaid, ac fel y codais chwi ar adenydd eryrod a'ch cludo ataf fy hun.

⁴‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself.

⁵ Yn awr, os gwrandewch yn ofalus arnaf a chadw fy nghyfamod, byddwch yn eiddo arbennig i mi ymhlith yr holl bobloedd, oherwydd eiddof fi'r ddaear i gyd.

⁵Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;

⁶ Byddwch hefyd yn deyrnas o offeiriaid i mi, ac yn genedl sanctaidd.' Dyma'r geiriau yr wyt i'w llefaru wrth bobl Israel."

⁶and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

⁷ Felly aeth Moses i alw henuriaid y bobl, a gosod o'u blaen yr holl eiriau hyn a orchmynnodd yr ARGLWYDD iddo.

⁷Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Yahweh commanded him.

⁸ Atebodd y bobl i gyd yn unfryd, "Fe wnawn y cyfan a ddywedodd yr ARGLWYDD." Yna adroddodd Moses eiriau'r bobl wrth yr ARGLWYDD.

⁸All the people answered together, and said, “All that Yahweh has spoken we will do.” Moses reported the words of the people to Yahweh.

⁹ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrtho, "Edrych, fe ddof atat mewn cwmwl tew er mwyn i'r bobl fy nghlywed yn llefaru wrthyt ac ymddiried ynot am byth."

⁹Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh.

¹⁰ Pan fynegodd Moses eiriau'r bobl wrth yr ARGLWYDD, dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrtho hefyd, "Dos at y bobl, a chysegra hwy heddiw ac yfory; boed iddynt olchi eu dillad,

¹⁰Yahweh said to Moses, “Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,

¹¹ a bod yn barod erbyn y trydydd dydd, oherwydd ar y trydydd dydd fe ddaw'r ARGLWYDD i lawr ar Fynydd Sinai yng ngolwg yr holl bobl.

¹¹and be ready against the third day; for on the third day Yahweh will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai.

¹² Gosod ffin o amgylch y mynydd, a dywed, 'Gwyliwch rhag i chwi fynd i fyny i'r mynydd na chyffwrdd �'i ffin; oherwydd pwy bynnag sy'n cyffwrdd �'r mynydd, fe'i rhoddir i farwolaeth

¹²You shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, ‘Be careful that you don’t go up onto the mountain, or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death.

¹³ trwy ei labyddio neu ei saethu, ond peidied neb �'i gyffwrdd �'i law. Prun bynnag ai dyn ai anifail ydyw, ni chaiff fyw.' Nid ydynt i ddod i fyny i'r mynydd nes y cenir yn hir ar y corn hwrdd."

¹³No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether it is animal or man, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain.”

¹⁴ Yna aeth Moses i lawr o'r mynydd at y bobl, a'u cysegru; a golchasant eu dillad.

¹⁴Moses went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.

¹⁵ Dywedodd wrthynt, "Byddwch barod erbyn y trydydd dydd, a pheidiwch � mynd yn agos at wraig."

¹⁵He said to the people, “Be ready by the third day. Don’t have sexual relations with a woman.”

¹⁶ Ar fore'r trydydd dydd, daeth taranau a mellt a chwmwl tew ar y mynydd, ac yr oedd su373?n yr utgorn mor gryf nes i'r holl bobl oedd yn y gwersyll ddychryn.

¹⁶It happened on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled.

¹⁷ Yna daeth Moses �'r bobl allan o'r gwersyll i gyfarfod � Duw, ac aethant i sefyll wrth odre'r mynydd.

¹⁷Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.

¹⁸ Yr oedd Mynydd Sinai yn fwg i gyd, oherwydd i'r ARGLWYDD ddod i lawr arno mewn t�n; yr oedd y mwg yn codi fel mwg ffwrn, a'r mynydd i gyd yn crynu drwyddo.

¹⁸Mount Sinai, all it, smoked, because Yahweh descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.

¹⁹ Wrth i su373?n yr utgorn gryfhau, llefarodd Moses, ac atebodd Duw ef yn y daran.

¹⁹When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

²⁰ Yna disgynnodd yr ARGLWYDD ar ben Mynydd Sinai; galwodd Moses i ben y mynydd, ac aeth yntau i fyny.

²⁰Yahweh came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. Yahweh called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

²¹ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrtho, "Dos i lawr a rhybuddia'r bobl, rhag iddynt frysio i rythu ar yr ARGLWYDD ac i lawer ohonynt farw.

²¹Yahweh said to Moses, “Go down, warn the people, lest they break through to Yahweh to gaze, and many of them perish.

²² Rhaid i'r offeiriaid sy'n nes�u at yr ARGLWYDD hefyd eu cysegru eu hunain, rhag i'r ARGLWYDD eu taro."

²²Let the priests also, who come near to Yahweh, sanctify themselves, lest Yahweh break forth on them.”

²³ Dywedodd Moses wrth yr ARGLWYDD, "Ni all y bobl ddod i fyny i Fynydd Sinai, oherwydd iti ein rhybuddio i osod ffin o amgylch y mynydd a'i gysegru."

²³Moses said to Yahweh, “The people can’t come up to Mount Sinai, for you warned us, saying, ‘Set bounds around the mountain, and sanctify it.’”

²⁴ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrtho, "Dos i lawr, a thyrd ag Aaron i fyny gyda thi, ond paid � gadael i'r offeiriaid a'r bobl ruthro i fyny at yr ARGLWYDD, rhag iddo eu taro."

²⁴Yahweh said to him, “Go down and you shall bring Aaron up with you, but don’t let the priests and the people break through to come up to Yahweh, lest he break forth on them.”

²⁵ Felly aeth Moses i lawr at y bobl a dweud hyn wrthynt.

²⁵So Moses went down to the people, and told them.
