Isaiah

30

1 "Gwae chwi, blant gwrthryfelgar," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "sy'n gweithio cynllun na ddaeth oddi wrthyf fi, ac yn dyfeisio planiau nad ysbrydolwyd gennyf fi, ac yn pentyrru pechod ar bechod.
1“Woe to the rebellious children,” says Yahweh, “who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not with my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin,
2 nt i lawr i'r Aifft, heb ofyn fy marn, i geisio help gan Pharo, a lloches yng nghysgod yr Aifft.
2who set out to go down into Egypt, and have not asked my advice; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt!
3 Ond bydd help Pharo yn dwyn gwarth arnoch, a lloches yng nghysgod yr Aifft yn waradwydd.
3Therefore the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
4 Canys, er bod ei swyddogion yn Soan a'i genhadau mor bell Hanes,
4For their princes are at Zoan, and their ambassadors have come to Hanes.
5 fe ddaw pob un i gywilydd oherwydd pobl ddi-fudd, nad ydynt yn help na llesd, ond yn warth a gwaradwydd."
5They shall all be ashamed because of a people that can’t profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.”
6 Oracl am anifeiliaid y Negef: Trwy wlad caledi a loes, gwlad y llewes a'r llew, y wiber a'r sarff hedegog, fe gludant eu cyfoeth ar gefn asynnod a'u trysorau ar grwmp camelod, at bobl ddifudd.
6The burden of the animals of the South. Through the land of trouble and anguish, of the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches on the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to an unprofitable people.
7 Canys y mae help yr Aifft yn ofer a gwag; am hynny galwaf hi, Rahab segur.
7For Egypt helps in vain, and to no purpose; therefore have I called her Rahab who sits still.
8 Yn awr dos ac ysgrifenna ar lech, a nodi hyn mewn llyfr, iddo fod mewn dyddiau a ddaw yn dystiolaeth barhaol.
8Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever.
9 Pobl wrthryfelgar yw'r rhain, plant celwyddog, plant na fynnant wrando cyfraith yr ARGLWYDD,
9For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of Yahweh;
10 ond sy'n dweud wrth y gweledyddion, "Peidiwch ag edrych", ac wrth y proffwydi, "Peidiwch phroffwydo i ni bethau uniawn, ond llefarwch weniaith a gweledigaethau hudolus.
10who tell the seers, “Don’t see!” and to the prophets, “Don’t prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits.
11 Trowch o'r ffordd, gadewch y llwybr uniawn, parwch i Sanct Israel adael llonydd i ni."
11Get out of the way. Turn aside from the path. Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”
12 Am hynny, fe ddywed Sanct Israel fel hyn: "Am i chwi wrthod y gair hwn ac ymddiried mewn twyll a cham, a phwyso arnynt,
12Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, “Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rely on it;
13 bydd y drygioni hwn yn eich golwg fel mur uchel a hollt yn rhedeg i lawr ar ei hyd, ac yn sydyn, mewn eiliad, yn chwalu;
13therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly in an instant.
14 bydd yn torri fel llestr crochenydd, yn chwilfriw ulw mn; ni cheir ymysg ei ddarnau gragen i godi tn oddi ar aelwyd, neu i godi du373?r o ffos."
14He will break it as a potter’s vessel is broken, breaking it in pieces without sparing, so that there won’t be found among the broken piece a piece good enough to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern.”
15 Canys fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW, Sanct Israel: "Wrth ddychwelyd a bod yn dawel y byddwch gadwedig, wrth lonyddu a bod yn hyderus y byddwch gadarn. Ni fynnwch chwi hyn, ond dweud,
15For thus said the Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, “You will be saved in returning and rest. Your strength will be in quietness and in confidence.” You refused,
16 'Nid felly, fe ffown ni ar feirch.' Felly bydd yn rhaid i chwi ffoi. 'Fe farchogwn ni feirch cyflym,' meddwch. Felly bydd eich erlidwyr yn gyflym.
16but you said, “No, for we will flee on horses”; therefore you will flee; and, “We will ride on the swift”; therefore those who pursue you will be swift.
17 Bydd mil yn ffoi ar fygythiad un; ar fygythiad pump, fe ffowch nes eich gadael fel lluman ar ben mynydd, ac fel baner ar fryn."
17One thousand will flee at the threat of one. At the threat of five, you will flee until you are left like a beacon on the top of a mountain, and like a banner on a hill.
18 Er hynny, y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn disgwyl i gael trugarhau wrthych, ac yn barod i ddangos tosturi. Canys Duw cyfiawnder yw'r ARGLWYDD; gwyn ei fyd pob un sy'n disgwyl wrtho.
18Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.
19 Chwi bobl Seion, trigolion Jerwsalem, peidiwch ag wylo mwyach. Bydd ef yn rasol wrth su373?n dy gri; pan glyw di, fe'th etyb.
19For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.
20 Er i'r Arglwydd roi iti fara adfyd a du373?r cystudd, ni chuddir dy athrawon mwyach, ond caiff dy lygaid eu gweld.
20Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers won’t be hidden anymore, but your eyes will see your teachers;
21 Pan fyddwch am droi i'r dde neu i'r chwith, fe glywch 'ch clustiau lais o'ch l yn dweud, "Dyma'r ffordd, rhodiwch ynddi."
21and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”
22 Fe ffieiddiwch eich delwau arian cerfiedig a'ch eilunod euraid. Gwrthodi hwy fel budreddi; dywedi wrthynt, "Bawiach."
22You shall defile the overlaying of your engraved images of silver, and the plating of your molten images of gold. You shall cast them away as an unclean thing. You shall tell it, “Go away!”
23 Ac fe rydd ef iti law i'r had a heui yn y pridd, a bydd cynnyrch y ddaear yn rawn bras a llawn; bydd dy anifeiliaid yn pori mewn porfa eang yn y dydd hwnnw,
23He will give the rain for your seed, with which you will sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground will be rich and plentiful. In that day, your livestock will feed in large pastures.
24 a chaiff yr ychen a'r asynnod sy'n llafurio'r tir eu bwydo phorthiant blasus, wedi ei nithio fforch a rhaw.
24The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that till the ground will eat savory provender, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.
25 Ar bob mynydd uchel a bryn dyrchafedig bydd afonydd a ffrydiau o ddu373?r, yn nydd y lladdfa fawr, pan syrth y tyrau.
25There shall be brooks and streams of water on every lofty mountain and on every high hill in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
26 A bydd llewyrch y lleuad fel llewyrch yr haul, a llewyrch yr haul yn seithwaith mwy, fel llewyrch saith diwrnod, ar y dydd pan fydd yr ARGLWYDD yn rhwymo briw ei bobl, ac yn iachu'r archoll ar l eu taro.
26Moreover the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, in the day that Yahweh binds up the fracture of his people, and heals the wound they were struck with.
27 Wele, daw enw'r ARGLWYDD o bell; bydd ei ddigofaint yn llosgi a'i gynddaredd yn llym, ei wefusau'n llawn o ddicter a'i dafod fel tn ysol,
27Behold, the name of Yahweh comes from far away, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke. His lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a devouring fire.
28 ei anadl fel llifeiriant yn rhuthro ac yn cyrraedd at y gwddf; bydd yn hidlo'r cenhedloedd gogr dinistriol, ac yn gosod ffrwyn ym mhennau'r bobloedd i'w harwain ar gyfeiliorn.
28His breath is as an overflowing stream that reaches even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction; and a bridle that leads to ruin will be in the jaws of the peoples.
29 Ond i chwi fe fydd cn, fel ar noson o u373?yl sanctaidd; a bydd eich calon yn llawen, fel llawenydd rhai'n dawnsio i su373?n ffliwt wrth fynd i fynydd yr ARGLWYDD, at Graig Israel.
29You will have a song, as in the night when a holy feast is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a flute to come to Yahweh’s mountain, to Israel’s Rock.
30 Bydd yr ARGLWYDD yn peri clywed ei lais mawreddog, ac yn dangos ei fraich yn taro mewn dicter llidiog a fflamau tn ysol, mewn torgwmwl a thymestl a chenllysg.
30Yahweh will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the descent of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, storm, and hailstones.
31 Bydd Asyria yn brawychu rhag su373?n yr ARGLWYDD, pan fydd ef yn taro 'i wialen.
31For through the voice of Yahweh the Assyrian will be dismayed. He will strike him with his rod.
32 Wrth iddo'i chosbi, bydd pob curiad o'i wialen, pan fydd yr ARGLWYDD yn ei gosod arni, yn cadw'r amser i dympanau a thelynau, yn y rhyfeloedd pan gyfyd ei fraich i ymladd yn eu herbyn.
32Every stroke of the rod of punishment, which Yahweh will lay on him, will be with the sound of tambourines and harps. He will fight with them in battles, brandishing weapons.
33 Oherwydd darparwyd Toffet erstalwm, a'i baratoi i'r brenin, a'i wneud yn ddwfn ac yn eang, a'i bwll tn yn llawn o goed, ac anadl yr ARGLWYDD fel ffrwd o frwmstan yn cynnau'r tn.
33For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, for the king it is prepared. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. Yahweh’s breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.
