1 Yn y bedwaredd flwyddyn i Jehoiacim fab Joseia, brenin Jwda, daeth y gair hwn at Jeremeia oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD:
1It happened in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
2 "Cymer sgrl, ac ysgrifenna arni yr holl eiriau a leferais wrthyt yn erbyn Israel a Jwda a'r holl genhedloedd, o'r dydd y dechreuais lefaru wrthyt, o ddyddiau Joseia hyd heddiw.
2Take a scroll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.
3 Efallai y bydd tu375? Jwda, pan glywant am yr holl ddinistr y bwriadaf ei ddwyn arnynt, yn troi, pob un o'i ffordd annuwiol, a minnau'n maddau iddynt eu drygioni a'u pechod."
3It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
4 Yna galwodd Jeremeia ar Baruch fab Nereia, ac wrth i Jeremeia lefaru ysgrifennodd Baruch yn y sgrl yr holl eiriau a lefarodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Jeremeia.
4Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of Yahweh, which he had spoken to him, on a scroll of a book.
5 Yna rhoes y gorchymyn hwn i Baruch: "Fe'm rhwystrwyd i rhag mynd i du375?'r ARGLWYDD,
5Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I can’t go into the house of Yahweh:
6 ond dos di, ac ar ddydd ympryd darllen o'r sgrl, yng nghlyw'r bobl yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD, holl eiriau'r ARGLWYDD fel y lleferais hwy. Darllen hwy hefyd yng nghlyw holl bobl Jwda a ddaw o'u dinasoedd.
6therefore you go, and read in the scroll, which you have written from my mouth, the words of Yahweh in the ears of the people in Yahweh’s house on the fast day; and also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.
7 Efallai y derbynnir eu gweddi gan yr ARGLWYDD, ac y bydd pob un yn troi o'i ffordd ddrygionus, oherwydd y mae'r llid a'r digofaint a fynegodd yr ARGLWYDD yn erbyn y bobl hyn yn fawr."
7It may be they will present their supplication before Yahweh, and will return everyone from his evil way; for great is the anger and the wrath that Yahweh has pronounced against this people.
8 Gwnaeth Baruch fab Nereia bob peth a orchmynnodd y proffwyd Jeremeia iddo, a darllenodd yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD eiriau'r ARGLWYDD o'r llyfr.
8Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of Yahweh in Yahweh’s house.
9 Yn y bumed flwyddyn i Jehoiacim fab Joseia, brenin Jwda, yn y nawfed mis, cyhoeddwyd ympryd gerbron yr ARGLWYDD i drigolion Jerwsalem ac i'r holl bobl a ddaeth o ddinasoedd Jwda i Jerwsalem.
9Now it happened in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem, proclaimed a fast before Yahweh.
10 Yna darllenodd Baruch holl eiriau Jeremeia o'r sgrl yng nghlyw'r holl bobl yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD, yn ystafell Gemareia fab Saffan, yr ysgrifennydd, yn y cyntedd uchaf wrth y fynedfa i'r Porth Newydd yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD.
10Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of Yahweh, in the room of Gemariah the son of Shaphan, the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the new gate of Yahweh’s house, in the ears of all the people.
11 Pan glywodd Michaia fab Gemareia, fab Saffan, holl eiriau'r ARGLWYDD o'r llyfr,
11When Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of Yahweh,
12 aeth i lawr i du375?'r brenin, i ystafell yr ysgrifennydd, ac yno yr oedd yr holl swyddogion yn eistedd: Elisama yr ysgrifennydd, a Delaia fab Semaia, ac Elnathan fab Achbor, a Gemareia fab Saffan, a Sedeceia fab Hananeia, a'r holl swyddogion.
12he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s room: and behold, all the princes were sitting there, Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.
13 Mynegodd Michaia iddynt bob peth a glywodd pan ddarllenodd Baruch o'r sgrl yng nghlyw'r bobl.
13Then Micaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.
14 Yna anfonodd yr holl swyddogion Jehudi fab Nethaneia, fab Selemeia, fab Cushi, at Baruch a dweud, "Cymer yn dy law y sgrl a ddarllenaist yng nghlyw'r bobl, a thyrd." Cymerodd Baruch fab Nereia y sgrl yn ei law, ac aeth atynt.
14Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.
15 Dywedasant hwythau wrtho, "Eistedd yma, a darllen hi inni." Darllenodd Baruch,
15They said to him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.
16 a phan glywsant y geiriau, troesant at ei gilydd mewn braw, a dweud wrth Baruch, "Rhaid inni fynegi hyn i gyd i'r brenin."
16Now it happened, when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said to Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
17 Gofynasant i Baruch, "Eglura inni yn awr sut y bu iti ysgrifennu'r holl eiriau hyn a ddywedodd."
17They asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth?
18 Atebodd Baruch, "Ef ei hun oedd yn llefaru wrthyf yr holl eiriau hyn, a minnau'n eu hysgrifennu ag inc ar y sgrl."
18Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.
19 Yna dywedodd y swyddogion wrth Baruch, "Dos ac ymguddia, ti a Jeremeia, a pheidiwch gadael i neb wybod lle'r ydych."
19Then the princes said to Baruch, Go, hide, you and Jeremiah; and let no man know where you are.
20 Yna aethant at y brenin i'r llys, ar l iddynt gadw'r sgrl yn ystafell Elisama yr ysgrifennydd, a mynegwyd y cwbl yng nghlyw'r brenin.
20They went in to the king into the court; but they had laid up the scroll in the room of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king.
21 Yna anfonwyd Jehudi gan y brenin i gyrchu'r sgrl, a daeth yntau hi o ystafell Elisama yr ysgrifennydd; a darllenodd Jehudi hi yng nghlyw'r brenin a'r holl swyddogion oedd yn sefyll yn ymyl y brenin.
21So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll; and he took it out of the room of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes who stood beside the king.
22 Y nawfed mis oedd hi, ac yr oedd y brenin yn eistedd yn y gaeafdy, a'r rhwyll dn wedi ei chynnau o'i flaen.
22Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month: and there was a fire in the brazier burning before him.
23 Pan fyddai Jehudi wedi darllen tair neu bedair colofn, torrai'r brenin hwy chyllell yr ysgrifennydd, a'u taflu i'w llosgi yn y rhwyll dn, nes difa'r sgrl gyfan yn y tn.
23It happened, when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, that the king cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.
24 Ond nid oedd y brenin na'i weision yn arswydo nac yn rhwygo'u dillad, wrth wrando ar yr holl eiriau hyn.
24They were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants who heard all these words.
25 Pan ymbiliodd Elnathan a Delaia a Gemareia ar y brenin i beidio llosgi'r sgrl, ni wrandawai arnynt.
25Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the scroll; but he would not hear them.
26 Yna gorchmynnodd y brenin i Jerahmeel fab y brenin a Seraia fab Asriel a Selemeia fab Abdiel ddal Baruch yr ysgrifennydd a Jeremeia y proffwyd; ond cuddiodd yr ARGLWYDD hwy.
26The king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but Yahweh hid them.
27 Wedi i'r brenin losgi'r sgrl a'r holl eiriau a ysgrifennodd Baruch o enau Jeremeia, daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at Jeremeia a dweud,
27Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,
28 "Cymer sgrl arall, ac ysgrifenna arni'r holl eiriau oedd yn y sgrl gyntaf, yr un a losgodd Jehoiacim brenin Jwda.
28Take again another scroll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.
29 A dywed wrth Jehoiacim brenin Jwda, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Fe losgaist ti'r sgrl hon, gan ddweud, "Pam yr ysgrifennaist arni fod brenin Babilon yn sicr o ddod ac anrheithio'r wlad hon, nes darfod dyn ac anifail oddi arni?"
29Concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say, Thus says Yahweh: You have burned this scroll, saying, Why have you written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from there man and animal?
30 Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD am Jehoiacim brenin Jwda: Ni bydd iddo neb i eistedd ar orsedd Dafydd; teflir allan ei gelain i wres y dydd a rhew'r nos.
30Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit on the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
31 Ymwelaf ag ef ac 'i had a'i weision am eu drygioni, a dwyn arnynt hwy a thrigolion Jerwsalem a phobl Jwda yr holl ddinistr a leferais yn eu herbyn, a hwythau heb wrando.'"
31I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring on them, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they didn’t listen.
32 Yna cymerodd Jeremeia sgrl arall, a'i rhoi i Baruch fab Nereia, yr ysgrifennydd, ac ysgrifennodd ef ynddi o enau Jeremeia holl eiriau'r llyfr a losgodd Jehoiacim brenin Jwda. Ychwanegodd atynt hefyd lawer o eiriau tebyg.
32Then took Jeremiah another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and there were added besides to them many like words.
