1 Chwe diwrnod cyn y Pasg, daeth Iesu i Fethania, lle'r oedd Lasarus yn byw, y dyn yr oedd wedi ei godi oddi wrth y meirw.
1Then six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, who had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
2 Yno gwnaethpwyd iddo swper; yr oedd Martha yn gweini, a Lasarus yn un o'r rhai oedd gydag ef wrth y bwrdd.
2So they made him a supper there. Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with him.
3 A chymerodd Mair fesur o ennaint costfawr, nard pur, ac eneiniodd draed Iesu a'u sychu 'i gwallt. A llanwyd y tu375? gan bersawr yr ennaint.
3Mary, therefore, took a pound a Roman pound of 12 ounces, or about 340 grams of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.
4 A dyma Jwdas Iscariot, un o'i ddisgyblion, yr un oedd yn mynd i'w fradychu, yn dweud,
4Then Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, one of his disciples, who would betray him, said,
5 "Pam na werthwyd yr ennaint hwn am dri chant o ddarnau arian, a'i roi i'r tlodion?"
5“Why wasn’t this ointment sold for three hundred denarii, 300 denarii was about a year’s wages for an agricultural laborer. and given to the poor?”
6 Ond fe ddywedodd hyn, nid am fod gofal ganddo am y tlodion, ond am mai lleidr ydoedd, yn cymryd o'r cyfraniadau yn y god arian oedd yn ei ofal.
6Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the money box, used to steal what was put into it.
7 "Gad lonydd iddi," meddai Iesu, "er mwyn iddi gadw'r ddefod ar gyfer dydd fy nghladdedigaeth.
7But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. She has kept this for the day of my burial.
8 Y mae'r tlodion gyda chwi bob amser, ond nid wyf fi gyda chwi bob amser."
8 For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.”
9 Daeth tyrfa fawr o'r Iddewon i wybod ei fod yno, a daethant ato, nid o achos Iesu yn unig, ond er mwyn gweld Lasarus hefyd, y dyn yr oedd ef wedi ei godi oddi wrth y meirw.
9A large crowd therefore of the Jews learned that he was there, and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
10 Ond gwnaeth y prif offeiriaid gynllwyn i ladd Lasarus hefyd,
10But the chief priests conspired to put Lazarus to death also,
11 gan fod llawer o'r Iddewon, o'i achos ef, yn gwrthgilio ac yn credu yn Iesu.
11because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.
12 Trannoeth, clywodd y dyrfa fawr a oedd wedi dod i'r u373?yl fod Iesu'n dod i Jerwsalem.
12On the next day a great multitude had come to the feast. When they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 Cymerasant ganghennau o'r palmwydd ac aethant allan i'w gyfarfod, gan weiddi: "Hosanna! Bendigedig yw'r un sy'n dod yn enw'r Arglwydd, yn Frenin Israel."
13they took the branches of the palm trees, and went out to meet him, and cried out, “Hosanna “Hosanna” means “save us” or “help us, we pray.” ! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Psalm 118:25-26 the King of Israel!”
14 Cafodd Iesu hyd i asyn ifanc ac eistedd arno, fel y mae'n ysgrifenedig:
14Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat on it. As it is written,
15 "Paid ag ofni, ferch Seion; wele dy frenin yn dod, yn eistedd ar ebol asen."
15“Don’t be afraid, daughter of Zion. Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey’s colt.” Zechariah 9:9
16 Ar y cyntaf ni ddeallodd y disgyblion ystyr y pethau hyn, ond wedi i Iesu gael ei ogoneddu, cofiasant fod y pethau hyn yn ysgrifenedig amdano, ac iddynt eu gwneud iddo.
16His disciples didn’t understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that they had done these things to him.
17 Yr oedd y dyrfa, a oedd gydag ef pan alwodd Lasarus o'r bedd a'i godi o blith y meirw, yn tystiolaethu am hynny.
17The multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb, and raised him from the dead, was testifying about it.
18 Dyna pam yr aeth tyrfa'r u373?yl i'w gyfarfod yr oeddent wedi clywed am yr arwydd yma yr oedd wedi ei wneud.
18For this cause also the multitude went and met him, because they heard that he had done this sign.
19 Gan hynny, dywedodd y Phariseaid wrth ei gilydd, "Edrychwch, nid ydych yn llwyddo o gwbl. Aeth y byd i gyd ar ei l ef."
19The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, “See how you accomplish nothing. Behold, the world has gone after him.”
20 Ymhlith y bobl oedd yn dod i fyny i addoli ar yr u373?yl, yr oedd rhyw Roegiaid.
20Now there were certain Greeks among those that went up to worship at the feast.
21 Daeth y rhain at Philip, a oedd o Bethsaida yng Ngalilea, a gofyn iddo, "Syr, fe hoffem weld Iesu."
21These, therefore, came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”
22 Aeth Philip i ddweud wrth Andreas; ac aeth Andreas a Philip i ddweud wrth Iesu.
22Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn, Andrew came with Philip, and they told Jesus.
23 A dyma Iesu'n eu hateb. "Y mae'r awr wedi dod," meddai, "i Fab y Dyn gael ei ogoneddu.
23Jesus answered them, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
24 Yn wir, yn wir, rwy'n dweud wrthych, os nad yw'r gronyn gwenith yn syrthio i'r ddaear ac yn marw, y mae'n aros ar ei ben ei hun; ond os yw'n marw, y mae'n dwyn llawer o ffrwyth.
24 Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.
25 Y mae'r sawl sy'n caru ei einioes yn ei cholli; a'r sawl sy'n casu ei einioes yn y byd hwn, bydd yn ei chadw i fywyd tragwyddol.
25 He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.
26 Os yw rhywun am fy ngwasanaethu i, rhaid iddo fy nghanlyn i; lle bynnag yr wyf fi, yno hefyd y bydd fy ngwasanaethwr. Os yw rhywun yn fy ngwasanaethu i, fe gaiff ei anrhydeddu gan y Tad.
26 If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there will my servant also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
27 "Yn awr y mae fy enaid mewn cynnwrf. Beth a ddywedaf? 'O Dad, gwared fi rhag yr awr hon'? Na, i'r diben hwn y deuthum i'r awr hon.
27 “Now my soul is troubled. What shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this time?’ But for this cause I came to this time.
28 O Dad, gogonedda dy enw." Yna daeth llais o'r nef: "Yr wyf wedi ei ogoneddu, ac fe'i gogoneddaf eto."
28 Father, glorify your name!” Then there came a voice out of the sky, saying, “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”
29 Pan glywodd y dyrfa oedd yn sefyll gerllaw, dechreusant ddweud mai taran oedd; dywedodd eraill, "Angel sydd wedi llefaru wrtho."
29The multitude therefore, who stood by and heard it, said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”
30 Atebodd Iesu, "Nid er fy mwyn i, ond er eich mwyn chwi, y daeth y llais hwn.
30Jesus answered, “This voice hasn’t come for my sake, but for your sakes.
31 Dyma awr barnu'r byd hwn; yn awr y mae tywysog y byd hwn i gael ei fwrw allan.
31 Now is the judgment of this world. Now the prince of this world will be cast out.
32 A minnau, os caf fy nyrchafu oddi ar y ddaear, fe dynnaf bawb ataf fy hun."
32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”
33 Dywedodd hyn i ddangos beth fyddai dull y farwolaeth oedd yn ei aros.
33But he said this, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
34 Yna atebodd y dyrfa ef: "Yr ydym ni wedi dysgu o'r Gyfraith fod y Meseia i aros am byth. Sut yr wyt ti'n dweud, felly, bod yn rhaid i Fab y Dyn gael ei ddyrchafu? Pwy yw'r Mab y Dyn yma?"
34The multitude answered him, “We have heard out of the law that the Christ remains forever. Isaiah 9:7; Daniel 2:44 (but see also Isaiah 53:8) How do you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up?’ Who is this Son of Man?”
35 Dywedodd Iesu wrthynt, "Am ychydig amser eto y bydd y goleuni yn eich plith. Rhodiwch tra bo'r goleuni gennych, rhag i'r tywyllwch eich goddiweddyd. Nid yw'r sawl sy'n rhodio yn y tywyllwch yn gwybod lle y mae'n mynd.
35Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going.
36 Tra bo'r goleuni gennych, credwch yn y goleuni, ac felly plant y goleuni fyddwch." Wedi iddo lefaru'r geiriau hyn, aeth Iesu i ffwrdd ac ymguddio rhagddynt.
36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light.” Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.
37 Er iddo wneud cynifer o arwyddion yng ngu373?ydd y bobl, nid oeddent yn credu ynddo.
37But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they didn’t believe in him,
38 Cyflawnwyd felly y gair a ddywedodd y proffwyd Eseia: "Arglwydd, pwy a gredodd yr hyn a glywsant gennym? I bwy y datguddiwyd braich yr Arglwydd?"
38that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, “Lord, who has believed our report? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” Isaiah 53:1
39 O achos hyn ni allent gredu, oherwydd dywedodd Eseia beth arall:
39For this cause they couldn’t believe, for Isaiah said again,
40 "Y mae ef wedi dallu eu llygaid, ac wedi tywyllu eu deall, rhag iddynt weld 'u llygaid, a deall 'u meddwl, a throi'n l, i mi eu hiachu."
40“He has blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.” Isaiah 6:10
41 Dywedodd Eseia hyn am iddo weld ei ogoniant; amdano ef yr oedd yn llefaru.
41Isaiah said these things when he saw his glory, and spoke of him. Isaiah 6:1
42 Eto i gyd fe gredodd llawer hyd yn oed o'r llywodraethwyr ynddo ef; ond o achos y Phariseaid ni fynnent ei arddel, rhag iddynt gael eu torri allan o'r synagog.
42Nevertheless even of the rulers many believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they didn’t confess it, so that they wouldn’t be put out of the synagogue,
43 Dewisach oedd ganddynt glod gan bobl na chlod gan Dduw.
43for they loved men’s praise more than God’s praise.
44 Cyhoeddodd Iesu: "Y mae'r sawl sy'n credu ynof fi yn credu nid ynof fi ond yn yr un a'm hanfonodd i.
44Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me, but in him who sent me.
45 Ac y mae'r sawl sy'n fy ngweld i yn gweld yr un a'm hanfonodd i.
45 He who sees me sees him who sent me.
46 Yr wyf fi wedi dod i'r byd yn oleuni, ac felly nid yw neb sy'n credu ynof fi yn aros yn y tywyllwch.
46 I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.
47 Os yw rhywun yn clywed fy ngeiriau i ac yn gwrthod eu cadw, nid myfi sy'n ei farnu, oherwydd ni ddeuthum i farnu'r byd ond i achub y byd.
47 If anyone listens to my sayings, and doesn’t believe, I don’t judge him. For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 Y mae gan y sawl sy'n fy ngwrthod i, ac yn peidio derbyn fy ngeiriau, un sydd yn ei farnu. Bydd y gair hwnnw a leferais i yn ei farnu yn y dydd olaf.
48 He who rejects me, and doesn’t receive my sayings, has one who judges him. The word that I spoke, the same will judge him in the last day.
49 Oherwydd nid ohonof fy hunan y lleferais, ond y Tad ei hun, hwnnw a'm hanfonodd i, sydd wedi rhoi gorchymyn i mi beth a ddywedaf a beth a lefaraf.
49 For I spoke not from myself, but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 A gwn fod ei orchymyn ef yn fywyd tragwyddol. Yr hyn yr wyf fi'n ei lefaru, felly, rwy'n ei lefaru yn union fel y mae'r Tad wedi dweud wrthyf."
50 I know that his commandment is eternal life. The things therefore which I speak, even as the Father has said to me, so I speak.”
