1 Dywedodd ddameg wrthynt i ddangos fod yn rhaid iddynt weddo bob amser yn ddiflino:
1He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,
2 "Mewn rhyw dref yr oedd barnwr. Nid oedd yn ofni Duw nac yn parchu eraill.
2saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God, and didn’t respect man.
3 Yn y dref honno yr oedd hefyd wraig weddw a fyddai'n mynd ger ei fron ac yn dweud, 'Rho imi ddedfryd gyfiawn yn erbyn fy ngwrthwynebwr.'
3 A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’
4 Am hir amser daliodd i'w gwrthod, ond yn y diwedd meddai wrtho'i hun, 'Er nad wyf yn ofni Duw nac yn parchu eraill,
4 He wouldn’t for a while, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God, nor respect man,
5 eto, am fod y wraig weddw yma yn fy mhoeni o hyd, fe roddaf iddi'r ddedfryd, rhag iddi ddal i ddod a'm plagio i farwolaeth.'"
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”
6 Ac meddai'r Arglwydd, "Clywch eiriau'r barnwr anghyfiawn.
6The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 A fydd Duw yn gwrthod cyfiawnder i'w etholedigion, sy'n galw'n daer arno ddydd a nos? A fydd ef yn oedi yn eu hachos hwy?
7 Won’t God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8 Rwy'n dweud wrthych y rhydd ef gyfiawnder iddynt yn ebrwydd. Ond eto, pan ddaw Mab y Dyn, a gaiff ef ffydd ar y ddaear?"
8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
9 Dywedodd hefyd y ddameg hon wrth rai oedd yn sicr eu bod hwy eu hunain yn gyfiawn, ac yn dirmygu pawb arall:
9He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others.
10 "Aeth dau ddyn i fyny i'r deml i weddo, y naill yn Pharisead a'r llall yn gasglwr trethi.
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11 Safodd y Pharisead wrtho'i hun a gweddo fel hyn: 'O Dduw, yr wyf yn diolch iti am nad wyf fi fel pawb arall, yn rheibus, yn anghyfiawn, yn odinebus, na chwaith fel y casglwr trethi yma.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: ‘God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 Yr wyf yn ymprydio ddwywaith yr wythnos, ac yn talu degwm ar bopeth a gaf.'
12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’
13 Ond yr oedd y casglwr trethi yn sefyll ymhell i ffwrdd, heb geisio cymaint chodi ei lygaid tua'r nef; yr oedd yn curo ei fron gan ddweud, 'O Dduw, bydd drugarog wrthyf fi, bechadur.'
13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
14 Rwy'n dweud wrthych, dyma'r un a aeth adref wedi ei gyfiawnhau, nid y llall; oherwydd darostyngir pob un sy'n ei ddyrchafu ei hun, a dyrchefir pob un sy'n ei ddarostwng ei hun."
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
15 Yr oeddent yn dod 'u babanod hefyd ato, iddo gyffwrdd hwy, ond wrth weld hyn dechreuodd y disgyblion eu ceryddu.
15They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 Ond galwodd Iesu'r plant ato gan ddweud, "Gadewch i'r plant ddod ataf fi a pheidiwch 'u rhwystro, oherwydd i rai fel hwy y mae teyrnas Dduw yn perthyn.
16Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
17 Yn wir, rwy'n dweud wrthych, pwy bynnag nad yw'n derbyn teyrnas Dduw yn null plentyn, nid byth i mewn iddi."
17 Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
18 Gofynnodd rhyw lywodraethwr iddo, "Athro da, beth a wnaf i etifeddu bywyd tragwyddol?"
18A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
19 Dywedodd Iesu wrtho, "Pam yr wyt yn fy ngalw i yn dda? Nid oes neb da ond un, sef Duw.
19Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one—God.
20 Gwyddost y gorchmynion: 'Na odineba, na ladd, na ladrata, na chamdystiolaetha, anrhydedda dy dad a'th fam.'"
20 You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’” Exodus 20:12-16; Deuteronomy 5:16-20
21 Meddai yntau, "Yr wyf wedi cadw'r rhain i gyd o'm hieuenctid."
21He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”
22 Pan glywodd Iesu hyn, dywedodd wrtho, "Un peth sydd ar l i ti ei wneud: gwerth y cwbl sydd gennyt, a rhanna ef ymhlith y tlodion, a chei drysor yn y nefoedd; a thyrd, canlyn fi."
22When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me.”
23 Ond pan glywodd ef hyn, aeth yn drist iawn, oherwydd yr oedd yn gyfoethog dros ben.
23But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
24 Pan welodd Iesu ef wedi tristu, meddai, "Mor anodd yw hi i'r rhai goludog fynd i mewn i deyrnas Dduw!
24Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!
25 Oherwydd y mae'n haws i gamel fynd i mewn trwy grau nodwydd nag i'r cyfoethog fynd i mewn i deyrnas Dduw."
25 For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”
26 Ac meddai'r gwrandawyr, "Pwy ynteu all gael ei achub?"
26Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”
27 Atebodd yntau, "Y mae'r hyn sy'n amhosibl gyda dynion yn bosibl gyda Duw."
27But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
28 Yna dywedodd Pedr, "Dyma ni wedi gadael ein heiddo a'th ganlyn di."
28Peter said, “Look, we have left everything, and followed you.”
29 Ond meddai ef wrthynt, "Yn wir, rwy'n dweud wrthych nad oes neb a adawodd du375? neu wraig neu frodyr neu rieni neu blant, er mwyn teyrnas Dduw,
29He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the Kingdom of God’s sake,
30 na chaiff dderbyn yn l lawer gwaith cymaint yn yr amser hwn, ac yn yr oes sy'n dod fywyd tragwyddol."
30 who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.”
31 Cymerodd y Deuddeg gydag ef a dweud wrthynt, "Dyma ni'n mynd i fyny i Jerwsalem, a chyflawnir ar Fab y Dyn bob peth sydd wedi ei ysgrifennu trwy'r proffwydi;
31He took the twelve aside, and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
32 oherwydd caiff ei drosglwyddo i'r Cenhedloedd, a'i watwar a'i gam-drin, a phoeri arno;
32 For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
33 ac wedi ei fflangellu lladdant ef, a'r trydydd dydd fe atgyfoda." Nid oeddent hwy yn deall dim o hyn;
33 They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”
34 yr oedd y peth hwn wedi ei guddio rhagddynt, a'i eiriau y tu hwnt i'w hamgyffred.
34They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.
35 Wrth iddo nesu at Jericho, yr oedd dyn dall yn eistedd ar fin y ffordd yn cardota.
35It happened, as he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
36 Pan glywodd y dyrfa yn dod gofynnodd beth oedd hynny,
36Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.
37 a mynegwyd iddo fod Iesu o Nasareth yn mynd heibio.
37They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
38 Bloeddiodd yntau, "Iesu, Fab Dafydd, trugarha wrthyf."
38He cried out, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 Yr oedd y rhai ar y blaen yn ei geryddu ac yn dweud wrtho am dewi; ond yr oedd ef yn gweiddi'n uwch fyth, "Fab Dafydd, trugarha wrthyf."
39Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 Safodd Iesu, a gorchymyn dod ag ef ato. Wedi i'r dyn nesu gofynnodd Iesu iddo,
40Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41 "Beth yr wyt ti am i mi ei wneud iti?" Meddai ef, "Syr, mae arnaf eisiau cael fy ngolwg yn l."
41 “What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”
42 Dywedodd Iesu wrtho, "Derbyn dy olwg yn l; dy ffydd sydd wedi dy iachu di."
42Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”
43 Cafodd ei olwg yn l ar unwaith, a dechreuodd ei ganlyn ef gan ogoneddu Duw. Ac o weld hyn rhoddodd yr holl bobl foliant i Dduw.
43Immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
