4

1 Dychwelodd Iesu, yn llawn o'r Ysbryd Gln, o'r Iorddonen, ac arweiniwyd ef gan yr Ysbryd yn yr anialwch
1Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness
2 am ddeugain diwrnod, a'r diafol yn ei demtio. Ni fwytaodd ddim yn ystod y dyddiau hynny, ac ar eu diwedd daeth arno eisiau bwyd.
2for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.
3 Meddai'r diafol wrtho, "Os Mab Duw wyt ti, dywed wrth y garreg hon am droi'n fara."
3The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
4 Atebodd Iesu ef, "Y mae'n ysgrifenedig: 'Nid ar fara yn unig y bydd rhywun fyw.'"
4Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”
5 Yna aeth y diafol ag ef i fyny a dangos iddo ar amrantiad holl deyrnasoedd y byd,
5The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 a dywedodd wrtho, "I ti y rhof yr holl awdurdod ar y rhain a'u gogoniant hwy; oherwydd i mi y mae wedi ei draddodi, ac yr wyf yn ei roi i bwy bynnag a fynnaf.
6The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.
7 Felly, os addoli di fi, dy eiddo di fydd y cyfan."
7If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.”
8 Atebodd Iesu ef, "Y mae'n ysgrifenedig: 'Yr Arglwydd dy Dduw a addoli, ac ef yn unig a wasanaethi.'"
8Jesus answered him, “Get behind me Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”
9 Ond aeth y diafol ag ef i Jerwsalem, a'i osod ar du373?r uchaf y deml, a dweud wrtho, "Os Mab Duw wyt ti, bwrw dy hun i lawr oddi yma;
9He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,
10 oherwydd y mae'n ysgrifenedig: 'Rhydd orchymyn i'w angylion amdanat, i'th warchod di rhag pob perygl',
10for it is written, ‘He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;’
11 a hefyd: 'Byddant yn dy godi ar eu dwylo rhag iti daro dy droed yn erbyn carreg.'"
11and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.’”
12 Yna atebodd Iesu ef, "Y mae'r Ysgrythur yn dweud: 'Paid gosod yr Arglwydd dy Dduw ar ei brawf.'"
12Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”
13 Ac ar l iddo ei demtio ym mhob modd, ymadawodd y diafol ag ef, gan aros ei gyfle.
13When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.
14 Dychwelodd Iesu yn nerth yr Ysbryd i Galilea. Aeth y sn amdano ar hyd a lled y gymdogaeth.
14Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.
15 Yr oedd yn dysgu yn eu synagogau ac yn cael clod gan bawb.
15He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
16 Daeth i Nasareth, lle yr oedd wedi ei fagu. Yn l ei arfer aeth i'r synagog ar y dydd Saboth, a chododd i ddarllen.
16He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17 Rhoddwyd iddo lyfr y proffwyd Eseia, ac agorodd y sgrl a chael y man lle'r oedd yn ysgrifenedig:
17The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,
18 "Y mae Ysbryd yr Arglwydd arnaf, oherwydd iddo f'eneinio i bregethu'r newydd da i dlodion. Y mae wedi f'anfon i gyhoeddi rhyddhad i garcharorion, ac adferiad golwg i ddeillion, i beri i'r gorthrymedig gerdded yn rhydd,
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,
19 i gyhoeddi blwyddyn ffafr yr Arglwydd."
19 and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
20 Wedi cau'r sgrl a'i rhoi'n l i'r swyddog, fe eisteddodd; ac yr oedd llygaid pawb yn y synagog yn syllu arno.
20He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 A'i eiriau cyntaf wrthynt oedd: "Heddiw yn eich clyw chwi y mae'r Ysgrythur hon wedi ei chyflawni."
21He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
22 Yr oedd pawb yn ei gymeradwyo ac yn rhyfeddu at y geiriau grasusol oedd yn dod o'i enau ef, gan ddweud, "Onid mab Joseff yw hwn?"
22All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”
23 Ac meddai wrthynt, "Diau yr adroddwch wrthyf y ddihareb, 'Feddyg, iach dy hun', a dweud, 'Yr holl bethau y clywsom iddynt ddigwydd yng Nghapernaum, gwna hwy yma hefyd ym mro dy febyd.'"
23He said to them, “Doubtless you will tell me this parable, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.’”
24 Ond meddai, "Yn wir, rwy'n dweud wrthych nad oes dim croeso i'r un proffwyd ym mro ei febyd.
24He said, “Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.
25 Ar fy ngwir rwy'n dweud wrthych, yr oedd llawer o wragedd gweddw yn Israel yn nyddiau Elias pan gaewyd y ffurfafen am dair blynedd a chwe mis, ac y bu newyn mawr ar yr holl wlad.
25 But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.
26 Ond nid at un ohonynt hwy yr anfonwyd Elias, ond yn hytrach at wraig weddw yn Sarepta yng ngwlad Sidon.
26 Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
27 Ac yr oedd llawer o wahangleifion yn Israel yn amser y proffwyd Eliseus, ac ni lanhawyd yr un ohonynt hwy, ond yn hytrach Naaman y Syriad."
27 There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian.”
28 Wrth glywed hyn llanwyd pawb yn y synagog  dicter;
28They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.
29 codasant, a bwriasant ef allan o'r dref a mynd ag ef hyd at ael y bryn yr oedd eu tref wedi ei hadeiladu arno, i'w luchio o'r clogwyn.
29They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.
30 Ond aeth ef drwy eu canol hwy, ac ymaith ar ei daith.
30But he, passing through their midst, went his way.
31 Aeth i lawr i Gapernaum, tref yng Ngalilea, a bu'n dysgu'r bobl ar y Saboth.
31He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,
32 Yr oeddent yn synnu at yr hyn yr oedd yn ei ddysgu, oherwydd yr oedd ei air yn llawn awdurdod.
32and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
33 Yn y synagog yr oedd dyn a chanddo ysbryd cythraul aflan. Gwaeddodd hwnnw llais uchel,
33In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
34 "Och, beth sydd a fynni di ni, Iesu o Nasareth? A wyt ti wedi dod i'n difetha ni? Mi wn pwy wyt ti Sanct Duw."
34saying, “Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”
35 Ceryddodd Iesu ef 'r geiriau, "Taw, a dos allan ohono." Lluchiodd y cythraul y dyn i'w canol ac aeth allan ohono heb niweidio dim arno.
35Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.
36 Aeth pawb yn syn a dechreusant siarad 'i gilydd, gan ddweud, "Pa air yw hwn? Y mae ef yn gorchymyn yr ysbrydion aflan ag awdurdod ac nerth, ac y maent yn mynd allan."
36Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”
37 Yr oedd sn amdano yn mynd ar hyd a lled y gymdogaeth.
37News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.
38 Ymadawodd Iesu 'r synagog ac aeth i du375? Simon. Yr oedd mam-yng-nghyfraith Simon yn dioddef dan dwymyn lem, a deisyfasant ar Iesu ar ei rhan.
38He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him for her.
39 Safodd ef uwch ei phen a cheryddu'r dwymyn, a gadawodd y dwymyn hi; ac ar unwaith cododd a dechrau gweini arnynt.
39He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.
40 Ac ar fachlud haul, pawb oedd chleifion yn dioddef dan amrywiol afiechydon, daethant hwy ato; a gosododd yntau ei ddwylo ar bob un ohonynt a'u hiachu.
40When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41 Yr oedd cythreuliaid yn ymadael llawer o bobl gan floeddio, "Mab Duw wyt ti." Ond eu ceryddu a wni ef, a gwahardd iddynt ddweud gair, am eu bod yn gwybod mai'r Meseia oedd ef.
41Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Rebuking them, he didn’t allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
42 Pan ddaeth hi'n ddydd aeth allan a theithio i le unig. Yr oedd y tyrfaoedd yn chwilio amdano, a daethant hyd ato a cheisio'i rwystro rhag mynd ymaith oddi wrthynt.
42When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the multitudes looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he wouldn’t go away from them.
43 Ond dywedodd ef wrthynt, "Y mae'n rhaid imi gyhoeddi'r newydd da am deyrnas Dduw i'r trefi eraill yn ogystal, oherwydd i hynny y'm hanfonwyd i."
43But he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent.”
44 Ac yr oedd yn pregethu yn synagogau Jwdea.
44He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
