Matthew

17

1 Ymhen chwe diwrnod dyma Iesu'n cymryd Pedr ac Iago ac Ioan ei frawd a mynd hwy i fynydd uchel o'r neilltu.
1After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves.
2 A gweddnewidiwyd ef yn eu gu373?ydd hwy, a disgleiriodd ei wyneb fel yr haul, ac aeth ei ddillad yn wyn fel y goleuni.
2He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light.
3 A dyma Moses ac Elias yn ymddangos iddynt, yn ymddiddan ag ef.
3Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him.
4 A dywedodd Pedr wrth Iesu, "Arglwydd, y mae'n dda ein bod ni yma; os mynni, gwnaf yma dair pabell, un i ti ac un i Moses ac un i Elias."
4Peter answered, and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let’s make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5 Tra oedd ef yn dal i siarad, dyma gwmwl golau yn cysgodi drostynt, a llais o'r cwmwl yn dweud, "Hwn yw fy Mab, yr Anwylyd; ynddo ef yr wyf yn ymhyfrydu; gwrandewch arno."
5While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
6 A phan glywodd y disgyblion hyn syrthiasant ar eu hwynebau a chydiodd ofn mawr ynddynt.
6When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid.
7 Daeth Iesu atynt a chyffwrdd hwy gan ddweud, "Codwch, a pheidiwch ag ofni."
7Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up, and don’t be afraid.”
8 Ac wedi edrych i fyny ni welsant neb ond Iesu'n unig.
8Lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.
9 Wrth iddynt ddod i lawr o'r mynydd gorchmynnodd Iesu iddynt, "Peidiwch dweud wrth neb am y weledigaeth nes y bydd Mab y Dyn wedi ei gyfodi oddi wrth y meirw."
9As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Don’t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”
10 Gofynnodd y disgyblion iddo, "Pam y mae'r ysgrifenyddion yn dweud bod yn rhaid i Elias ddod yn gyntaf?"
10His disciples asked him, saying, “Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
11 Atebodd yntau, "Bydd Elias yn dod ac yn adfer pob peth.
11Jesus answered them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things,
12 Ond 'rwy'n dweud wrthych fod Elias eisoes wedi dod, ond iddynt fethu ei adnabod, a gwneud iddo beth bynnag a fynnent; felly hefyd y mae Mab y Dyn yn mynd i ddioddef ar eu llaw."
12 but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”
13 Yna deallodd y disgyblion mai am Ioan Fedyddiwr y bu'n sn wrthynt.
13Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.
14 Pan ddaethant at y dyrfa, daeth dyn at Iesu gan benlinio o'i flaen a dweud,
14When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him, saying,
15 "Syr, tosturia wrth fy mab, oherwydd y mae'n dioddef o ffitiau ac yn dioddef yn enbyd, yn cwympo'n aml i'r tn ac yn aml i'r du373?r.
15“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic, and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.
16 Deuthum ag ef at dy ddisgyblion di, ac ni allasant hwy ei iachu."
16So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.”
17 Atebodd Iesu, "O genhedlaeth ddi-ffydd a gwyrgam, pa hyd y byddaf gyda chwi? Pa hyd y goddefaf chwi? Dewch ag ef yma ataf fi."
17Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me.”
18 Ceryddodd Iesu y cythraul, ac aeth allan ohono, ac fe iachawyd y bachgen o'r munud hwnnw.
18Jesus rebuked him, the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.
19 Yna daeth y disgyblion at Iesu o'r neilltu a dweud, "Pam na allem ni ei fwrw ef allan?"
19Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?”
20 Meddai ef wrthynt, "Am fod eich ffydd chwi mor wan. Yn wir, 'rwy'n dweud wrthych, os bydd gennych ffydd gymaint hedyn mwstard, fe ddywedwch wrth y mynydd hwn, 'Symud oddi yma draw', a symud a wna. Ac ni fydd dim yn amhosibl i chwi."
20He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
21 [{cf15i Nid 'r math hwn allan ond trwy weddi ac ympryd.}]
21 But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.”
22 Pan oeddent gyda'i gilydd yng Ngalilea dywedodd Iesu wrthynt, "Y mae Mab y Dyn i'w draddodi i ddwylo pobl,
22While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,
23 ac fe'i lladdant ef, a'r trydydd dydd fe'i cyfodir." Ac aethant yn drist iawn.
23 and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.” They were exceedingly sorry.
24 Wedi iddynt ddod i Gapernaum, daeth y rhai oedd yn casglu treth y deml at Pedr a gofyn, "Onid yw eich athro yn talu treth y deml?"
24When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?”
25 "Ydyw," meddai Pedr. Pan aeth i'r tu375?, achubodd Iesu'r blaen arno trwy ofyn, "Simon, beth yw dy farn di? Gan bwy y mae brenhinoedd y byd yn derbyn tollau a threthi? Ai gan eu dinasyddion eu hunain ynteu gan estroniaid?"
25He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”
26 "Gan estroniaid," meddai Pedr. Dywedodd Iesu wrtho, "Felly y mae'r dinasyddion yn rhydd o'r dreth.
26Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt.
27 Ond rhag i ni beri tramgwydd iddynt, dos at y mr a bwrw fachyn iddo, a chymer y pysgodyn cyntaf a ddaw i fyny. Agor ei geg ac fe gei ddarn arian. Cymer hwnnw a rho ef iddynt drosof fi a thithau."
27 But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a stater coin. Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”
