Matthew

5

1 Pan welodd Iesu y tyrfaoedd, aeth i fyny'r mynydd, ac wedi iddo eistedd i lawr daeth ei ddisgyblion ato.
1Seeing the multitudes, he went up onto the mountain. When he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
2 Dechreuodd eu hannerch a'u dysgu fel hyn:
2He opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
3 "Gwyn eu byd y rhai sy'n dlodion yn yr ysbryd, oherwydd eiddynt hwy yw teyrnas nefoedd.
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
4 Gwyn eu byd y rhai sy'n galaru, oherwydd cnt hwy eu cysuro.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 Gwyn eu byd y rhai addfwyn, oherwydd cnt hwy etifeddu'r ddaear.
5 Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Gwyn eu byd y rhai sy'n newynu a sychedu am gyfiawnder, oherwydd cnt hwy eu digon.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.
7 Gwyn eu byd y rhai trugarog, oherwydd cnt hwy dderbyn trugaredd.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Gwyn eu byd y rhai pur eu calon, oherwydd cnt hwy weld Duw.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 Gwyn eu byd y tangnefeddwyr, oherwydd cnt hwy eu galw'n blant i Dduw.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
10 Gwyn eu byd y rhai a erlidiwyd yn achos cyfiawnder, oherwydd eiddynt hwy yw teyrnas nefoedd.
10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
11 Gwyn eich byd pan fydd pobl yn eich gwaradwyddo a'ch erlid, ac yn dweud pob math o ddrygair celwyddog yn eich erbyn, o'm hachos i.
11 “Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Llawenhewch a gorfoleddwch, oherwydd y mae eich gwobr yn fawr yn y nefoedd; felly yn wir yr erlidiwyd y proffwydi oedd o'ch blaen chwi.
12 Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13 "Chwi yw halen y ddaear; ond os cyll yr halen ei flas, pha beth yr helltir ef? Nid yw'n dda i ddim bellach ond i'w luchio allan a'i sathru dan draed pobl.
13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.
14 Chwi yw goleuni'r byd. Ni ellir cuddio dinas a osodir ar fryn.
14 You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden.
15 Ac nid oes neb yn goleuo cannwyll a'i rhoi dan lestr, ond yn hytrach ar ganhwyllbren, a bydd yn rhoi golau i bawb sydd yn y tu375?.
15 Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house.
16 Felly boed i'ch goleuni chwithau lewyrchu gerbron eraill, er mwyn iddynt weld eich gweithredoedd da chwi a gogoneddu eich Tad, yr hwn sydd yn y nefoedd.
16 Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
17 "Peidiwch thybio i mi ddod i ddileu'r Gyfraith na'r proffwydi; ni ddeuthum i ddileu ond i gyflawni.
17 “Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
18 Yn wir, 'rwy'n dweud wrthych, hyd nes i nef a daear ddarfod, ni dderfydd yr un llythyren na'r un manylyn lleiaf o'r Gyfraith nes i'r cwbl ddigwydd.
18 For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.
19 Am hynny pwy bynnag fydd yn dirymu un o'r gorchmynion lleiaf hyn ac yn dysgu i eraill wneud felly, gelwir ef y lleiaf yn nheyrnas nefoedd. Ond pwy bynnag a'i ceidw ac a'i dysg i eraill, gelwir hwnnw'n fawr yn nheyrnas nefoedd.
19 Whoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and teach others to do so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
20 'Rwy'n dweud wrthych, oni fydd eich cyfiawnder chwi yn rhagori llawer ar eiddo'r ysgrifenyddion a'r Phariseaid, nid ewch byth i mewn i deyrnas nefoedd.
20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, there is no way you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
21 "Clywsoch fel y dywedwyd wrth y rhai gynt, 'Na ladd; pwy bynnag sy'n lladd, bydd yn atebol i farn.'
21 “You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever shall murder shall be in danger of the judgment.’
22 Ond 'rwyf fi'n dweud wrthych y bydd pob un sy'n ddig wrth ei frawd yn atebol i farn. Pwy bynnag sy'n sarhau ei frawd, bydd yn atebol i'r llys, a phwy bynnag sy'n dweud wrtho, 'Y ffu373?l', bydd yn ateb am hynny yn nhn uffern.
22 But I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment; and whoever shall say to his brother, ‘Raca !’ shall be in danger of the council; and whoever shall say, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of the fire of Gehenna.
23 Felly os wyt yn cyflwyno dy offrwm wrth yr allor, ac yno'n cofio bod gan dy frawd rywbeth yn dy erbyn,
23 “If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,
24 gad dy offrwm yno o flaen yr allor, a dos ymaith; myn gymod yn gyntaf 'th frawd, ac yna tyrd a chyflwyno dy offrwm.
24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
25 Os bydd rhywun yn dy gymryd i'r llys, bydd barod i ddod i gytundeb buan tra byddwch ar y ffordd yno, rhag i'th wrthwynebydd dy draddodi i'r barnwr, ac i'r barnwr dy roi i'r swyddog, ac i ti gael dy fwrw i garchar.
25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are with him in the way; lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.
26 Yn wir, 'rwy'n dweud wrthyt, ni ddoi di byth allan oddi yno cyn talu'n l y geiniog olaf.
26 Most certainly I tell you, you shall by no means get out of there, until you have paid the last penny.
27 "Clywsoch fel y dywedwyd, 'Na odineba.'
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’
28 Ond 'rwyf fi'n dweud wrthych fod pob un sy'n edrych mewn blys ar wraig eisoes wedi cyflawni godineb hi yn ei galon.
28 but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 Os yw dy lygad de yn achos cwymp iti, tyn ef allan a'i daflu oddi wrthyt; y mae'n fwy buddiol iti golli un o'th aelodau na bod dy gorff cyfan yn cael ei daflu i uffern.
29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.
30 Ac os yw dy law dde yn achos cwymp iti, tor hi ymaith a'i thaflu oddi wrthyt; y mae'n fwy buddiol iti golli un o'th aelodau na bod dy gorff cyfan yn mynd i uffern.
30 If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.
31 "Dywedwyd hefyd, 'Pwy bynnag sy'n ysgaru ei wraig, rhodded iddi lythyr ysgar.'
31 “It was also said, ‘Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorce,’
32 Ond 'rwyf fi'n dweud wrthych fod pob un sy'n ysgaru ei wraig, ar wahn i achos o anffyddlondeb, yn peri iddi hi odinebu, ac y mae'r sawl sy'n priodi gwraig a ysgarwyd yn godinebu.
32 but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.
33 "Clywsoch hefyd fel y dywedwyd wrth y rhai gynt, 'Na thynga lw twyllodrus', a 'Rhaid iti gadw pob llw a roist i'r Arglwydd.'
33 “Again you have heard that it was said to them of old time, ‘You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,’
34 Ond 'rwyf fi'n dweud wrthych: peidiwch  thyngu llw o gwbl; nac i'r nef, gan mai gorsedd Duw ydyw;
34 but I tell you, don’t swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
35 nac i'r ddaear, gan mai ei droedfainc ef ydyw; nac i Jerwsalem, gan mai dinas y Brenin mawr ydyw.
35 nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
36 Paid thyngu chwaith i'th ben, oherwydd ni elli wneud un blewyn yn wyn nac yn ddu.
36 Neither shall you swear by your head, for you can’t make one hair white or black.
37 Ond boed eich 'ie' yn 'ie', a'ch 'nage' yn 'nage'; beth bynnag sy'n ychwanegol at hyn o'r Un drwg y mae.
37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.
38 "Clywsoch fel y dywedwyd, 'Llygad am lygad, a dant am ddant.'
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’
39 Ond 'rwyf fi'n dweud wrthych: peidiwch gwrthsefyll y sawl sy'n gwneud drwg i chwi. Os bydd rhywun yn dy daro ar dy foch dde, tro'r llall ato hefyd.
39 But I tell you, don’t resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 Ac os bydd rhywun am fynd thi i gyfraith a chymryd dy grys, gad iddo gael dy fantell hefyd.
40 If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.
41 Ac os bydd rhywun yn dy orfodi i'w ddanfon am un cilomedr, dos gydag ef ddwy.
41 Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.
42 Rho i'r sawl sy'n gofyn gennyt, a phaid throi i ffwrdd oddi wrth y sawl sydd am fenthyca gennyt.
42 Give to him who asks you, and don’t turn away him who desires to borrow from you.
43 "Clywsoch fel y dywedwyd, 'Cr dy gymydog, a chas dy elyn.'
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.
44 Ond 'rwyf fi'n dweud wrthych: carwch eich gelynion, a gweddwch dros y rhai sy'n eich erlid;
44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
45 felly fe fyddwch yn blant i'ch Tad sydd yn y nefoedd, oherwydd y mae ef yn peri i'w haul godi ar y drwg a'r da, ac yn rhoi glaw i'r cyfiawn a'r anghyfiawn.
45 that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
46 Os carwch y rhai sy'n eich caru chwi, pa wobr sydd i chwi? Onid yw hyd yn oed y casglwyr trethi yn gwneud cymaint hynny?
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?
47 Ac os cyfarchwch eich cydnabod yn unig, pa ragoriaeth sydd yn hynny? Onid yw'r Cenhedloedd hyd yn oed yn gwneud cymaint hynny?
47 If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?
48 Felly byddwch chwi'n berffaith fel y mae eich Tad nefol yn berffaith.
48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
