1 Yr oedd gan dylwyth Reuben a thylwyth Gad lawer iawn o wartheg; a phan welsant fod tir Jaser a thir Gilead yn dir pori da i anifeiliaid,
1Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that behold, the place was a place for livestock;
2 daethant at Moses, Eleasar yr offeiriad ac arweinwyr y cynulliad, a dweud,
2the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spoke to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,
3 "Y mae Ataroth, Dibon, Jaser, Nimra, Hesbon, Eleale, Sebam, Nebo a Beon,
3“Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Sebam, and Nebo, and Beon,
4 sef y tir a orchfygodd yr ARGLWYDD o flaen cynulliad Israel, yn dir pori, ac y mae gan dy weision wartheg."
4the land which Yahweh struck before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock; and your servants have livestock.”
5 Yna dywedasant, "Os cawsom ffafr yn dy olwg, rho'r tir hwn yn feddiant i'th weision, a phaid gwneud i ni groesi'r Iorddonen."
5They said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession; don’t bring us over the Jordan.”
6 Ond dywedodd Moses wrth dylwyth Gad a thylwyth Reuben, "A yw eich brodyr i fynd i ryfel tra byddwch chwi'n eistedd yma?
6Moses said to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, “Shall your brothers go to the war, and shall you sit here?
7 Pam yr ydych am ddigalonni pobl Israel rhag mynd drosodd i'r wlad a roddodd yr ARGLWYDD iddynt?
7Why do you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which Yahweh has given them?
8 Dyma a wnaeth eich hynafiaid pan anfonais hwy o Cades-barnea i edrych y wlad,
8Your fathers did so when I sent them from Kadesh Barnea to see the land.
9 oherwydd pan aethant i fyny i ddyffryn Escol a'i gweld, dechreusant hwythau ddigalonni pobl Israel rhag mynd i'r wlad a roddodd yr ARGLWYDD iddynt.
9For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which Yahweh had given them.
10 Enynnodd llid yr ARGLWYDD y diwrnod hwnnw, a thyngodd a dweud,
10Yahweh’s anger was kindled in that day, and he swore, saying,
11 'Am nad ydynt wedi fy nilyn yn ffyddlon, ni chaiff neb o'r rhai a ddaeth i fyny o'r Aifft, ac sy'n ugain oed a throsodd, weld y wlad a addewais i Abraham, Isaac a Jacob,
11‘Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:
12 ar wahn i Caleb fab Jeffunne y Cenesiad a Josua fab Nun, oherwydd darfu iddynt hwy ddilyn yr ARGLWYDD yn ffyddlon.'
12except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun; because they have followed Yahweh completely.’
13 Pan enynnodd llid yr ARGLWYDD yn erbyn Israel, gwnaeth iddynt grwydro'r anialwch am ddeugain mlynedd, nes darfod o'r cyfan o'r genhedlaeth a wnaeth ddrwg yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD.
13Yahweh’s anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander back and forth in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, who had done evil in the sight of Yahweh, was consumed.
14 A dyma chwi'n awr yn dilyn eich hynafiaid, yn hil o bobl bechadurus sy'n cyffroi'n fwyfwy ddicter yr ARGLWYDD yn erbyn Israel.
14“Behold, you have risen up in your fathers’ place, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Yahweh toward Israel.
15 Os gwrthodwch ei ddilyn, bydd yn gadael yr holl bobl hyn unwaith eto yn yr anialwch, a chwi fydd wedi eu difa."
15For if you turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and you will destroy all this people.”
16 Yna daethant ato a dweud, "Fe adeiladwn gorlannau yma i'n praidd, a dinasoedd i'n plant;
16They came near to him, and said, “We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones:
17 caiff ein plant fyw yn y dinasoedd caerog, yn ddiogel rhag trigolion y wlad, tra byddwn ninnau'n cymryd arfau, yn arwain pobl Israel, ac yn eu tywys i'w lle eu hunain.
17but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
18 Ni ddychwelwn adref nes i bob un o'r Israeliaid feddiannu ei etifeddiaeth.
18We will not return to our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance.
19 Ond ni fyddwn ni'n cymryd etifeddiaeth gyda hwy yr ochr draw i'r Iorddonen, oherwydd rhoddwyd etifeddiaeth i ni yr ochr yma, o'r tu dwyrain i'r Iorddonen."
19For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan, and forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side of the Jordan eastward.”
20 Dywedodd Moses wrthynt, "Os gwnewch hyn, a chymryd arfau a mynd i ryfel o flaen yr ARGLWYDD,
20Moses said to them, “If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before Yahweh to the war,
21 ac os pob dyn arfog sydd yn eich plith dros yr Iorddonen o flaen yr ARGLWYDD, a gyrru ei elynion allan,
21and every armed man of you will pass over the Jordan before Yahweh, until he has driven out his enemies from before him,
22 a darostwng y wlad o flaen yr ARGLWYDD, yna cewch ddychwelyd, a byddwch yn rhydd o'ch dyletswydd i'r ARGLWYDD ac i Israel, a bydd y tir hwn yn etifeddiaeth i chwi gerbron yr ARGLWYDD.
22and the land is subdued before Yahweh; then afterward you shall return, and be guiltless towards Yahweh, and towards Israel; and this land shall be to you for a possession before Yahweh.
23 Ond os na wnewch hyn, byddwch yn pechu yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD, a chewch wybod y bydd eich pechod yn eich dal.
23“But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against Yahweh; and be sure your sin will find you out.
24 Adeiladwch ddinasoedd i'ch plant, a chorlannau i'ch praidd, a gwnewch yr hyn a addawsoch."
24Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which has proceeded out of your mouth.”
25 Dywedodd tylwyth Gad a thylwyth Reuben wrth Moses, "Fe wna dy weision fel y mae ein harglwydd yn gorchymyn.
25The children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, “Your servants will do as my lord commands.
26 Bydd ein plant a'n gwragedd, ein gwartheg a'n holl anifeiliaid, yn aros yma yn ninasoedd Gilead,
26Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock, shall be there in the cities of Gilead;
27 ond fe dy weision drosodd o flaen yr ARGLWYDD, pob un yn arfog ar gyfer rhyfel, fel y mae ein harglwydd yn gorchymyn."
27but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before Yahweh to battle, as my lord says.”
28 Rhoddodd Moses orchymyn ynglu375?n hwy i Eleasar yr offeiriad a Josua fab Nun, ac i bennau-teuluoedd llwythau pobl Israel.
28So Moses commanded concerning them to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers’ households of the tribes of the children of Israel.
29 Dywedodd Moses wrthynt, "Os  tylwyth Gad a thylwyth Reuben gyda chwi dros yr Iorddonen o flaen yr ARGLWYDD, a phob un ohonynt yn arfog ar gyfer rhyfel, ac os byddant yn darostwng y wlad o'ch blaen, yna rhowch wlad Gilead iddynt yn etifeddiaeth;
29Moses said to them, “If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over the Jordan, every man who is armed to battle, before Yahweh, and the land shall be subdued before you; then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:
30 ond os nad nt drosodd yn arfog gyda chwi, yna cnt etifeddiaeth yn eich plith chwi yng ngwlad Canaan."
30but if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.”
31 Atebodd tylwyth Gad a thylwyth Reuben, "Fe wnawn fel y gorchmynnodd yr ARGLWYDD i'th weision.
31The children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, “As Yahweh has said to your servants, so will we do.
32 Awn drosodd i wlad Canaan yn arfog o flaen yr ARGLWYDD, a chadwn ein hetifeddiaeth yr ochr yma i'r Iorddonen."
32We will pass over armed before Yahweh into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us beyond the Jordan.”
33 Rhoddodd Moses i dylwyth Gad a thylwyth Reuben, ac i hanner llwyth Manasse fab Joseff, deyrnas Sihon brenin yr Amoriaid, a theyrnas Og brenin Basan, yn cynnwys holl ddinasoedd y wlad a'u tiriogaethau oddi amgylch.
33Moses gave to them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, according to its cities and borders, even the cities of the surrounding land.
34 Adeiladodd tylwyth Gad Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,
34The children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
35 Atroth-soffan, Jaser, Jogbeha,
35and Atrothshophan, and Jazer, and Jogbehah,
36 Beth-nimra a Beth-haran yn ddinasoedd caerog, a chorlannau i'r praidd.
36and Beth Nimrah, and Beth Haran: fortified cities, and folds for sheep.
37 Adeiladodd tylwyth Reuben Hesbon, Eleale, Ciriathaim,
37The children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kiriathaim,
38 Nebo, Baal-meon, a Sibma, a rhoddwyd enwau newydd ar y dinasoedd a adeiladwyd ganddynt.
38and Nebo, and Baal Meon, (their names being changed), and Sibmah: and they gave other names to the cities which they built.
39 Aeth meibion Machir fab Manasse i Gilead, a'i meddiannu, a gyrrwyd ymaith yr Amoriaid oedd yno.
39The children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were therein.
40 Rhoddodd Moses Gilead i Machir fab Manasse, ac fe ymsefydlodd ef yno.
40Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh; and he lived therein.
41 Aeth Jair fab Manasse i gymryd meddiant o bentrefi Gilead, a rhoddodd iddynt yr enw Hafoth-jair.
41Jair the son of Manasseh went and took its towns, and called them Havvoth Jair.
42 Aeth Noba i gymryd meddiant o Cenath a'i phentrefi, a'i galw'n Noba, ar l ei enw ei hun.
42Nobah went and took Kenath, and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name.
