¹خداوند به من فرمود:

¹And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

²«ای انسان خاکی، رو بسوی اورشلیم نموده علیه عبادتگاه های آنجا و سرزمین اسرائیل موعظه کن

²Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,

³و بگو خداوند چنین می فرماید: ای اسرائیل، من دشمن تو هستم و با شمشیر برهنه، خوب و بد شما را یکسان می کشم.

³And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

⁴شمشیر من همه را، از جنوب تا شمال از بین می برد.

⁴Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:

⁵آنوقت همه می دانند که من خداوند هستم و شمشیر خود را از غلاف کشیده ام و تا همه را از بین نبرد در غلاف نمی رود.

⁵That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.

⁶پس ای انسان خاکی، آه و ناله کن و با غم و اندوه و با دل شکسته در برابر همه آه بکش.

⁶Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.

⁷وقتی از تو بپرسند که چرا آه می کشی، بگو که آه و ناله ات بخاطر خبر بدی است که به من رسیده است و با شنیدن آن دلهای همه گداخته شده، دستها سست می شوند، زانوان لرزان و بی تاب می گردند و همگی از حال می روند. خداوند متعال می فرماید که این وقایع آمدنی است و عملی می شود.»

⁷And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.

⁸بار دیگر کلام خداوند بر من نازل شد:

⁸Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

⁹«ای انسان خاکی، نبوت کن و بگو خداوند می فرماید: شمشیری، تیز و صیقلی شده است.

⁹Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:

¹⁰تیز شده تا کشتار کند و صیقلی گردیده تا برق بزند. خوشی و سُرُور از بین می رود، زیرا قوم برگزیدۀ من به هوشدارهای من گوش ندادند و از سرزنش های من پند نگرفتند.

¹⁰It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.

¹¹این شمشیر صیقلی شده است تا برای استفاده آماده باشد. این شمشیر تیز و صیقلی به دست یک قاتل سپرده می شود.

¹¹And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.

¹²ای انسان خاکی، گریه و شیون کن به سینه ات بزن، زیرا آن شمشیر برای کشتن قوم برگزیدۀ من و تمام رهبران اسرائیل آماده شده است. آن ها با سایر مردم هلاک می شوند.

¹²Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.

¹³من قوم برگزیدۀ خود را آزمایش می کنم و اگر توبه نکنند، به این مصیبت ها گرفتار می شوند.

¹³Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD.

¹⁴ای انسان خاکی، نبوت کن؛ دستهایت را بهم بزن. شمشیر را بگیر و دو سه بار به علامت خطر بالا ببر تا به مردم بفهمانی که کشتار بزرگی منتظر آن ها است.

¹⁴Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together. and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.

¹⁵بر هر دروازه، شمشیر بُرنده ای را که برای کشتار صیقلی شده است قرار داده ام تا دلهای همه از ترس گداخته شوند.

¹⁵I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.

¹⁶از چپ و راست حمله کن و به هر طرف که می خواهی برو.

¹⁶Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set.

¹⁷من هم دستها را بهم می زنم و خشم خود را فرو می نشانم.» من، خداوند، این را گفته ام.

¹⁷I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.

¹⁸سپس خداوند فرمود:

¹⁸The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,

¹⁹«ای انسان خاکی، نقشه ای بکش بروی آن دو راه رسم کن، یکی بسوی شهر مستحکم اورشلیم، در یهودا و دیگری جانب رَبه، در سرزمین عمونیان، تا پادشاه بابل با شمشیر خود از آن راه بیاید. هر دو راه باید از یک سرزمین شروع شود. در نقطه ای که آن دو سرک از هم جدا می شوند علامتی برای هدایت پادشاه بابل قرار بده،

¹⁹Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.

²⁰زیرا پادشاه بابل بر سر دوراهی می ایستد و با تکان دادن تیرها قرعه می اندازد. از بتهای خود هدایت می طلبد و با جگر قربانی فال می گیرد که به کدام راه باید برود.

²⁰Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.

²¹تیرهای دست راستش نشان می دهد که باید بطرف اورشلیم برود. بنابران با هیاهو و نعرۀ جنگ سپاه خود را برای کشتار به آن سو سوق می دهد و در آنجا منجنیقها را در برابر دروازه ها قرار می دهد و برجها و سنگرها را به اطراف شهر بنا می کند.

²¹For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.

²²اهالی اورشلیم این را باور نمی کنند، زیرا با بابل پیمان صلح بسته اند، اما این پیشگویی، آن ها را متوجه گناهان شان می سازد و به آن ها خاطر نشان می کند که بزودی گرفتار می شوند.»

²²At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.

²³خداوند متعال می فرماید: «گناهان تان آشکار شده اند. همگی می دانند که شما چقدر گناه کرده اید. کردار شما گناهان تان را نشان می دهد. شما مقصر هستید، بنابران شما را به دست دشمن تسلیم می کنم.

²³And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

²⁴تو ای فرمانروای شریر اسرائیل، روز مجازات نهائی تو فرارسیده است.

²⁴Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

²⁵خداوند متعال چنین می فرماید: دستار و تاج شاهی را از سرت بردار، زیرا بعد از این همه چیز تغییر می کنند و بحال سابق خود باقی نمی مانند. کسی که حقیر است، سرفراز می شود و آنکه سربلند است، خوار می گردد.

²⁵And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end,

²⁶ویران! ویران! بلی، من این شهر را ویران می سازم و تا زمانی که شخص برگزیدۀ من بیاید، دیگر هرگز سر بلند نمی کند.

²⁶Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.

²⁷پس ای انسان خاکی، نبوت کن و به عمونیان که قوم برگزیدۀ مرا تحقیر می کردند، بگو که خداوند متعال چنین می فرماید: شمشیر من برای کشتار شما آماده است. و طوری صیقلی شده است که برق می زند.

²⁷I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.

²⁸رؤیاهای غلط می بینید، فالگیران به شما دروغ می گویند. شما مردم بدکار و شریر هستید و روز مجازات نهائی شما بزودی می رسد.

²⁸And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:

²⁹آیا می خواهید شمشیر خود را غلاف کنم؟ هرگز! من شما را در زادگاه و وطن اصلی تان به کیفر اعمال تان می رسانم.

²⁹Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.

³⁰قهر و غضب خود را بر شما می ریزم و آتش خشم خود را حوالۀ جان شما می کنم. شما را به دست مردمان ظالم وحشی که در کشتن و از بین بردن ماهر هستند، می سپارم.اجساد شما برای آتش، هیزم می شوند. خون شما در سرزمین خود تان می ریزد و دیگر کسی شما را بیاد نمی آورد، زیرا من که خداوند هستم، این را گفته ام.» خداوند متعال فرموده است.

³⁰Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.

³¹اجساد شما برای آتش، هیزم می شوند. خون شما در سرزمین خود تان می ریزد و دیگر کسی شما را بیاد نمی آورد، زیرا من که خداوند هستم، این را گفته ام.» خداوند متعال فرموده است.

³¹And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.

³²Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.
