¹وای بحال شما ای غارتگران که مردم را غارت می کنید، اما خود شما غارت نشدید. ای خیانتکاران، هیچ کسی با شما رفتار بد نکرده است. وقتیکه از غارت مردم دست بکشید، آنگاه خود شما غارت می شوید و زمانی که خیانتکاری شما به پایان برسد، خود شما مورد خیانت قرار می گیرید.

¹Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.

²خداوندا، چشم امید ما بسوی تو است، پس بر ما رحم کن. هر صبح به ما نیرو عطا فرما و در وقت سختی نجات بخشای ما باش.

²O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.

³با شنیدن هلهلۀ جنگ دشمنان فرار می کنند و با دیدن حضور با عظمت تو قومها پراگنده می شوند.

³At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.

⁴دارائی و اموال دشمنان مثل زمینی که مورد حملۀ مور و ملخ واقع شده باشد، به تاراج می روند.

⁴And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.

⁵خداوند بزرگ و متعال است و مسکن او عرش برین است. او سهیون را از عدالت و انصاف پُر می سازد.

⁵The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

⁶فراوانی نجات، حکمت، معرفت و استقامت عطا می فرماید و ترسِ خدا گنج سهیون است.

⁶And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

⁷بشنوید! مردان شجاع برای کمک در جاده ها فریاد می کنند و قاصدانی که حامل پیام صلح اند، به تلخی می گریند.

⁷Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.

⁸شاهراه ها خالی شده اند و مسافری در آن ها دیده نمی شود. مردم پیمان را شکسته و وعده هائی را که داده اند بجا نیاورده اند و به دیگران اعتنائی نمی کنند.

⁸The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.

⁹کشور اسرائیل خراب شده و جنگلهای لبنان از بین رفته اند. وادی سرسبز شارون به بیابان تبدیل شده است و برگهای درختان باشان و کَرمَل ریخته اند.

⁹The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.

¹⁰خداوند می فرماید: «حالا من دست به کار می شوم و قدرت بازو و عظمت خود را نشان می دهم.

¹⁰Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.

¹¹شما ای مردم جهان، نقشه های بیهوده در سر می پرورانید که فایده ای برای تان نمی کند. نَفَس خود تان مثل آتش شده شما را می سوزاند.

¹¹Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.

¹²همه اقوام مثل خارها بریده شده در آتش افگنده می شوند و خاکستر می گردند.

¹²And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.

¹³ای مردمان دور و نزدیک، به آنچه کرده ام توجه کنید و به قدرت و عظمت من پی ببرید.»

¹³Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.

¹⁴گناهکاران و شریرانی که در سهیون هستند، از ترس می لرزند و می گویند: «چه کسی از ما می تواند از شعله های آتش جاودانی خدا نجات یابد؟»

¹⁴The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

¹⁵آن ها کسانی اند که در راه صداقت و راستی قدم بر می دارند. با استفاده از قدرت خود بر کسی ظلم نمی کنند، از رشوت خوری دست می کشند، با کسانی که خون مردم را می ریزند همدست نمی شوند و از بدی و جنایت چشم می پوشند.

¹⁵He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

¹⁶بنابران، آن ها در امنیت زندگی می کنند، پناهگاه شان قلعه های سنگی می باشد و آب و نان شان تهیه می شوند.

¹⁶He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

¹⁷بار دیگر چشمان تان پادشاه را در شوکت و زیبائی اش می بینند که در کشور وسیعی سلطنت می کند.

¹⁷Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

¹⁸آنوقت خاطرۀ روزهای وحشتناک گذشته و چهرۀ مأمورین مالیه و باجگیران در افکار تان زنده می شود که می آمدند و از شما مالیه و خراج جمع می کردند.

¹⁸Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?

¹⁹اما شما دیگر روی آن مردم مغرور را نمی بینید که با زبان اجنبی حرف می زدند و شما به مفهوم آن پی نمی بردید.

¹⁹Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.

²⁰به سهیون، شهری که ما در آن عید و مراسم مذهبی خود را برپا می کنیم، نگاه کنید و ببینید که چگونه در راحتی و آسایش بسر می برد. اورشلیم مانند خیمۀ مستحکمی که میخهایش کنده نمی شوند و ریسمانهایش پاره نمی گردد، پا برجا است.

²⁰Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

²¹در آنجا خداوند متعال از ما مثل دریای وسیعی محافظت می کند و کشتیهای مهاجم دشمن را نمی گذارد از آن عبور کنند.

²¹But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.

²²خداوند داور و حکمفرما و پادشاه و نجات بخشای ما است.

²²For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.

²³ریسمانهای کشتی دشمن سست می شوند و آن ها نمی توانند پایه های دَگل را نگهدارند و بادبانها را بگشایند. آنگاه تمام غنایم دشمن را به دست آورده بین خود تقسیم می کنیم و به لنگها هم حصۀ شان را می دهیم.از هموطنان ما دیگر هیچ کسی نمی گوید: «من مریض هستم.» و گناهان کسانی که در آنجا زندگی می کند همه بخشیده می شوند.

²³Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.

²⁴از هموطنان ما دیگر هیچ کسی نمی گوید: «من مریض هستم.» و گناهان کسانی که در آنجا زندگی می کند همه بخشیده می شوند.

²⁴And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
