1«بِل خم شده و نِبو خمیده گردیده است. بتهای آن ها بر دوش حیوانات خسته و ضعیف حمل می شوند.
1Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the weary beast.
2اینها بتهای ضعیف اند و نمی توانند پرستش کنندگان خود را که اسیر شده اند نجات بدهند، بلکه خود شان هم به همان سرنوشت دچار گردیده اند.
2They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.
3ای خاندان یعقوب و ای بازماندگان قوم اسرائیل، به من گوش بدهید. من شما را از رَحِم مادر بدنیا آوردم و از زمان تولد از شما مراقبت کرده ام
3Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:
4و تا دوران پیری و تا که موهای تان سفید شوند، باز هم مراقب شما می باشم. من شما را آفریده ام و از شما مواظبت می کنم، شما را با خود می برم و نجات می دهم.
4And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
5با چه کسی مرا شبیه و برابر می سازید و مقایسه می کنید؟ آیا کسی مانند من هست؟
5To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
6آنهائی که طلا و نقره دارند، زرگر را اجیر می کنند تا برای شان خدائی بسازد و آن وقت به سجده می افتند و آنرا پرستش می کنند.
6They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.
7آنرا بر می دارند بر شانه های خود می برند و بعد آنرا بر زمین قرار می دهند. آن بت در همان جا باقی می ماند و از جای خود حرکت کرده نمی تواند. اگر کسی پیش آن دعا کند، جواب نمی دهد و قادر نیست که مشکل او را رفع سازد.
7They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
8ای گناهکاران، بیاد داشته باشید و توجه کنید
8Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors.
9و چیزهائی را که در گذشته اتفاق افتاده بودند، بخاطر بیاورید. زیرا تنها من خدا هستم و مانند ندارم.
9Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10کارهائی را که در گذشته انجام دادم، پیشگوئی نمودم. هر چیزی را اراده کردم، بجا آورده شد.
10Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
11شخصی را از مشرق فرا می خوانم و او مانند یک پرندۀ شکاری فرود می آید و آنچه را که من بخواهم، انجام می دهد و امر مرا بجا می آورد.
11Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
12ای مردمان لجوج و خیره سر که فکر می کنید بزودی آزاد نمی شوید، به من گوش بدهید!من زمان آزادی شما را نزدیک می آورم و در مورد نجات شما تأخیر نمی کنم. سهیون را نجات می دهم و اسرائیل را سرفراز می سازم.»
12Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:
13من زمان آزادی شما را نزدیک می آورم و در مورد نجات شما تأخیر نمی کنم. سهیون را نجات می دهم و اسرائیل را سرفراز می سازم.»
13I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.
