¹خداوند می فرماید: «ای زن بی اولاد که فرزندی بدنیا نیاورده ای و درد زایمان نکشیده ای، به آواز بلند سرود بخوان و فریاد برآور! زیرا فرزندان تو بیشتر از فرزندان زنی می شوند که عروسی کرده است و شوهر دارد.

¹Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.

²خیمه ای را که در آن زندگی می کنی فراختر کن، پرده های آنرا عریضتر بساز، طنابهایش را درازتر کن و میخهایش را محکمتر بکوب،

²Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

³چونکه فرزندانت پیش تو می آیند و تو باید سرحداتت را بهر طرف وسعت بدهی. آن ها کشورهای بیگانگان را تصرف کرده شهرهای غیر مسکون را آباد می سازند و در آن ها زندگی می کنند.

³For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

⁴نترس، زیرا شرمنده نمی شوی؛ دلسرد نباش، چرا که دیگر روی خواری را نمی بینی. چونکه ننگ دوران جوانی و بیوه گی را فراموش می کنی.

⁴Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

⁵زیرا آفریدگار تو که نامش خدای قادر مطلق است، شوهر تو می باشد و قدوس اسرائیل که او را خدای تمام عالم می خوانند، نجات دهندۀ تو است.

⁵For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

⁶خداوند ترا که مثل زن فراموش شده و رنجدیده ای هستی، دوباره بسوی خود می خواند.»

⁶For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.

⁷خداوندِ نجات بخشای تو می گوید: «برای مدت کوتاهی ترا ترک کردم، اما با محبت زیاد ترا جمع می کنم.

⁷For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

⁸از شدت غضب برای لحظه ای روی خود را از تو پنهان کردم، ولی با محبت ابدی به تو شفقت نشان می دهم.

⁸In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

⁹چنانچه در زمان نوح قسم خوردم که دیگر آن چنان طوفانی روی زمین را فرا نخواهد گرفت، حالا هم وعده می دهم که بر تو خشمگین نمی شوم و دیگر ترا مجازات نمی کنم.

⁹For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

¹⁰اگر هم کوهها از بین بروند و تپه ها از جا بیجا شوند، اما رحمت من از تو دور نمی گردد و پیمان سلامتی ای که با تو بسته ام جابجا باقی می ماند.» خداوندی که بر تو رحمت می کند، این را می گوید.

¹⁰For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

¹¹«ای شهر رنجدیده و غمگین که تسلی دهنده ای نداری، من ترا با سنگهای گرانبها دوباره می سازم و تهدابت را بر سنگ لاجورد بنا می کنم.

¹¹O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

¹²منارهایت را از لعل و دروازه هایت را از جواهر و دیوارهایت را از سنگهای قیمتی می سازم.

¹²And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.

¹³خودم شخصاً فرزندانت را تعلیم می دهم و به آن ها سلامتی و کامیابی می بخشم.

¹³And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

¹⁴عدل و انصاف در تو رایج می گردد. از ظلم و آزار دشمن ترسی نمی داشته باشی.

¹⁴In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

¹⁵اگر کسی بر تو حمله آورد، بدون ارادۀ من می باشد و هر که علیه تو بجنگد، شکست می خورد.

¹⁵Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

¹⁶آهنگر را که در کوره، آتش روشن می کند و اسلحه می سازد، من آفریده ام و نیز هلاک کننده ای را برای نابودی، من خلق کرده ام.هر اسلحه ای که برضد تو ساخته شود، آسیبی به تو نمی رساند و هر کسی که علیه تو دعوا کند، تو بر او غالب خواهی شد. من از بندۀ خود دفاع می کنم و او را پیروز می سازم.» این است آنچه که خداوند می فرماید.

¹⁶Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

¹⁷هر اسلحه ای که برضد تو ساخته شود، آسیبی به تو نمی رساند و هر کسی که علیه تو دعوا کند، تو بر او غالب خواهی شد. من از بندۀ خود دفاع می کنم و او را پیروز می سازم.» این است آنچه که خداوند می فرماید.

¹⁷No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
