¹وای بحال من! زیرا به شخص گرسنه ای می مانم که وقتی میوۀ تابستانی چیده می شود، بر درختان میوه ای و بر تاکها انگوری نمی یابد و هیچ انجیری برای رفع گرسنگی خود پیدا نمی کند.

¹Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.

²مردم نیک از روی زمین محو شده اند و هیچ شخص خدا شناسی در بین مردم دیده نمی شود. همگی برای ریختن خون برادران خود در کمین نشسته و برای کشتن یکدیگر دام گسترده اند.

²The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.

³دستهای شان برای شرارت و جنایت چالاک است. حاکم و قاضی رشوه می گیرند. اشخاص بزرگ و متنفذ به آن ها می گویند که چه میل دارند و چه می خواهند و آن ها هم برای نفع ایشان نقشه می کشند.

³That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.

⁴بهترین افراد شان مثل خار هستند و حتی اشخاص نیک آن ها بدتر از خس و خار می باشند. روز مجازات آن ها فرا رسیده است و همگی مضطرب و پریشان خواهند شد.

⁴The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.

⁵به دوست و رفیق حتی به زنت اعتماد نکن و متوجه حرف زبانت باش.

⁵Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.

⁶در این وقت و زمان پسر، پدر خود را توهین می کند. دختر مخالف مادر است و عروس با خشوی خود جنگ و دعوا می کند. دشمن یک شخص اهل خانۀ او می باشد.

⁶For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.

⁷اما چشم امید من بسوی خداوند است و با اعتماد منتظرم تا خدا مرا نجات بدهد. خدای من دعای مرا قبول می کند.

⁷Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

⁸ای دشمنان بر روزگار بد من خوشی نکنید، زیرا وقتی بیفتم دوباره بر می خیزم. هرگاه در تاریکی باشم، خداوند، خودش نور و روشنی من می شود

⁸Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

⁹ما در برابر خداوند گناه کرده ایم، بنابران ما برای مدتی قهر و غضب او را متحمل می شویم، اما سرانجام در برابر دشمنان از ما حمایت می کند و آن ها را بخاطر بدی هائی که در حق ما کرده اند، جزا می دهد. او ما را از تاریکی به روشنی هدایت می نماید و ما کار نجات بخش او را مشاهده می کنیم.

⁹I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

¹⁰آنگاه دشمنانی که از روی طعنه به ما می گفتند: «خداوند، خدای شما کجاست؟» چون می بینند که خداوند حامی ما است، شرمنده و سرافگنده می شوند و با چشمان خود خواهیم دید که آن ها مانند گِل کوچه پایمال می گردند.

¹⁰Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

¹¹ای اسرائیل، روزی فرامی رسد که دیوارهای شهرهایت دوباره آباد می شوند و سرحداتت به نقاط دور توسعه می یابند.

¹¹In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be far removed.

¹²در آن روز قومت از آشور و مصر، از نواحی دریای فرات، از سواحل بحرها و کوهستانهای دوردست پیش تو بر می گردند،

¹²In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.

¹³اما سایر کشورهای روی زمین بخاطر گناهان ساکنین شان ویران می شوند.

¹³Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.

¹⁴ای خداوند، بیا و چوپان و رهبر قوم برگزیده ات باش و آن ها را که همچون گوسفندان در جنگلها تنها و بی راهنما مانده اند، مثل دوران گذشته به چراگاه های سرسبز باشان و جلعاد هدایت فرما.

¹⁴Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

¹⁵خداوندا، مانند زمانی که ما را از کشور مصر بیرون آوردی، برای ما معجزه های بزرگ نشان بده.

¹⁵According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.

¹⁶اقوام دیگر کارهای ترا می بینند و با وجود تمام قدرتی که دارند، شرمنده می شوند و از ترس کر و گنگ می گردند

¹⁶The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.

¹⁷مثل مار زمین را می لیسند و مانند خزندگان از غارهای خود بیرون خزیده با ترس و لرز بسوی تو که خداوند خدای ما هستی، باز می گردند.

¹⁷They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.

¹⁸کیست خداوندا مانند تو که گناه را ببخشد، تو مثل و مانند نداری. تو گناهان را می آمرزی و تقصیرات بازماندگان قوم برگزیده ات را می بخشی، و بخاطر رحمت و شفقتی که داری، برای همیشه خشمگین نمی مانی.

¹⁸Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

¹⁹دوباره بر ما مهربان می شوی. گناهان ما را بزیر قدمهایت پایمال می کنی و همه را در اعماق بحر می افگنی.به وعده ای که به قوم برگزیده ات، یعنی اولادۀ ابراهیم و یعقوب داده ای وفادار بوده و آن ها را از محبت پایدارت برخوردار می سازی.

¹⁹He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

²⁰به وعده ای که به قوم برگزیده ات، یعنی اولادۀ ابراهیم و یعقوب داده ای وفادار بوده و آن ها را از محبت پایدارت برخوردار می سازی.

²⁰Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
