17A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

19شخص ستیزه جو گناه را دوست دارد و آدم بلند پرواز خرابی ببار می آورد.

20شخص بد اندیش کامیاب نخواهد شد و آدم فریبکار در دام بلا گرفتار خواهد گردید.

21فرزند احمق مایۀ غم و غصۀ والدین خود می باشد.

24هدف مردم عاقل تحصیل حکمت است، اما شخص جاهل در زندگی هیچ هدفی ندارد.
24Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.
25فرزند احمق مایۀ غم و اندوه پدر و تلخکامی مادر است.
25A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.
26مجازات کردن اشخاص بیگناه و جزا دادن مردم نجیب بخاطر صداقت شان کار درستی نیست.
26Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for equity.
27شخص دانا کم حرف می زند و آدم عاقل آرام و صبور است.حتی شخص احمق هم اگر خاموش باشد و حرف نزند، او را دانا و فهمیده می شمارند.
27He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.
