1ای خداوند، تو مرا آزموده ای و می شناسی.
1O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2تو نشستن و برخاستن مرا می دانی و فکرهای مرا از دور فهمیده ای.
2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3راه و خوابگاه مرا تفتیش کرده ای و همۀ طریق های مرا می دانی.
3Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4زیرا که سخنی بر زبان من نیست، جزء اینکه تو ای خداوند آنرا تماماً دانسته ای.
4For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5از هر طرف مرا احاطه کرده ای و با قدرت خود حفظم می کنی.
5Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6اینگونه معرفت برایم بسیار عجیب است و بلندتر از توان درک من.
6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7از روح تو کجا بروم؟ و از حضور تو کجا بگریزم؟
7Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8اگر به آسمان صعود کنم، تو آنجا هستی! و اگر در دنیای مُردگان بستر بگسترانم اینک تو آنجا هستی!
8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9اگر بسوی طلوع آفتاب پرواز کنم و یا اگر در غرب ترین نقطۀ بحر ساکن شوم،
9If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10در آنجا نیز دست تو مرا رهبری نموده و دست راست تو مرا خواهد گرفت.
10Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11اگر بگویم: «تاریکی مرا بپوشاند و روشنایی گرداگرد من شب شود.»
11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12بازهم تاریکی نزد تو تاریک نیست و شب مثل روز روشن و تاریکی مانند روشنایی است.
12Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
13زیرا که تو آفریدگار دل و وجود من هستی؛ مرا در رَحِم مادرم نقش بستی.
13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
14تو را می ستایم زیرا که بطور مهیب و عجیب ساخته شده ام. کارهای تو شگفت انگیز است و جان من این را خوب می داند.
14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15استخوانهایم از تو پنهان نبود وقتی که در نهان ساخته می شدم و در آغوش زمین نقشبندی می گشتم.
15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16چشمان تو جنین مرا دیده است و پیش از آنکه روزهای زندگی من آغاز شود، تو همۀ آن ها را در کتاب خود ثبت کرده بودی.
16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17ای خدا، فکرهای تو نزد من چقدر گرامی است و همگی آن ها چه عظیم است!
17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18اگر آن ها را بشمارم، از ریگ زیاده است. وقتی که بیدار می شوم هنوز نزد تو حاضر هستم.
18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
19یقیناً ای خدا شریران را خواهی کشت، پس ای مردمان خون ریز از من دور شوید.
19Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
20آن ها دربارۀ تو حرفهای پلید می زنند و دشمنانت نام تو را بیهوده بر زبان می آورند.
20For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
21ای خداوند آیا نفرت نمی دارم از آنانی که تو را نفرت می دارند، و آیا مخالفان تو را ناپسند نمی شمارم؟
21Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22ایشان را به نفرت تام نفرت می دارم. ایشان را دشمنان خویشتن می شمارم.
22I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23ای خدا، مرا امتحان کن و دل مرا بشناس. مرا بیازما و فکرهای مرا بدان،و ببین که آیا در من راه فساد است! و مرا به طریق جاودانی هدایت فرما.
23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24و ببین که آیا در من راه فساد است! و مرا به طریق جاودانی هدایت فرما.
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
