¹خوشا به حال کسی که سرکشی او آمرزیده و گناه وی پوشیده شده است.

¹Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

²خوشا به حال کسی که خداوند گناه او را به حساب نمی آورد و مکر و حیله ای در وجود او نیست.

²Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

³تا زمانی که به گناه خود اقرار نکردم، استخوانهایم بدرد آمده و تمام روز در عذاب بودم.

³When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

⁴شب و روز زجر می کشیدم. طراوت و شادابی من، همچو آبی که در گرمای تابستان تبخیر می کند، محو گردیده بود.

⁴For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

⁵بعد به گناه خود اقرار نمودم و جُرم خود را پنهان نکرده و گفتم: «من در حضور خداوند به سرکشی خود اعتراف می کنم.» آنگاه تو گناهم را بخشیدی و از آلودگی مرا پاک ساختی.

⁵I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

⁶پس باشد که هر شخص خداترس در زمان مطلوب به حضور تو دعا کند تا اگر سیلابهای زیادی هم به طغیان بیایند هرگز به او رسیده نتوانند.

⁶For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

⁷تو پناهگاه من هستی و در زمان مصیبت مرا نجات می دهی. فضای گرداگرد مرا پُر از سرودهای پیروزی و رهایی می نمائی.

⁷Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

⁸خداوند می فرماید: «من به تو حکمت می آموزم و ترا به راهی که باید بروی هدایت می کنم. ترا نصیحت می کنم و چشم از تو بر نخواهم داشت.

⁸I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

⁹مانند اسپ و قاطر، نادان و بی شعور نباشید که به دهان شان لگام و افسار می بندند، ورنه از شما اطاعت نخواهند کرد.»

⁹Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

¹⁰غم و غصۀ شخص شریر زیاد است، اما هر که به خداوند توکل کند از رحمت برخوردار می شود.پس ای عادلان در خداوند خوشی و شادمانی کنید و ای راستدلان سرود خوشی را سر کنید.

¹⁰Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.

¹¹پس ای عادلان در خداوند خوشی و شادمانی کنید و ای راستدلان سرود خوشی را سر کنید.

¹¹Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
