¹در حالیکه این سرود را برای پادشاه می سرایم، دل من به کلام نیکو می جوشد. زبان من قلم کاتب ماهر است.

¹My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

²تو نیکوتر از بنی آدم هستی و نعمت بر لبهای تو ریخته شده است. بنابراین، خدا تو را تا به ابد متبارک ساخته است.

²Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

³ای مقتدر شمشیر خود را بر ران خود ببند، یعنی جلال و جبروتت را.

³Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

⁴به کبریایی خود سوار شده و به خاطر حقیقت و فروتنی و عدالت پیروز شو. دست راستت کارهای عجیب و ترسناک را به تو خواهد آموخت.

⁴And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

⁵تیرهای تیز تو به دل دشمنان پادشاه فرو می روند و امت ها بزیر پای تو می افتند.

⁵Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

⁶ای خدا، تخت تو تا به ابد برقرار است. عصای سلطنت تو عصای راستی و انصاف است.

⁶Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

⁷تو عدالت را دوست داشته و شرارت را دشمن می داری. بنابران خدا، خدای تو، تو را بیشتر از همراهانت با روغن شادمانی مسح کرده است.

⁷Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

⁸لباسهایت همه با مُر و عود و سلیخه، یعنی عطرهای گوناگون، معطر اند. با آلات موسیقی از قصرهای عاج تو را خوش ساختند.

⁸All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

⁹دختران پادشاهان، زیبایی دربار تو هستند و ملکه در دست راستت، با لباسی از طلای خالص اوفیر ایستاده است.

⁹Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

¹⁰ای دختر بشنو، ببین و توجه کن: قوم خود و خانۀ پدرت را فراموش کن.

¹⁰Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;

¹¹پادشاه دلبستۀ زیبایی تو است. او صاحب تو است، پس او را محترم بدار.

¹¹So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

¹²مردم صور و ثروتمندان قوم با هدایای خویش طالب رضامندی تو هستند.

¹²And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

¹³دختر پادشاه در اندرون قصرش چه زیباست! لباسهایش مزین به طلا.

¹³The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

¹⁴به لباس فاخر به حضور پادشاه حاضر می شود و دوشیزگان او را همراهی می کنند.

¹⁴She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

¹⁵آنها با خوشی و شادمانی آورده شده و به قصر پادشاه داخل می شوند.

¹⁵With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.

¹⁶پسرانت نیز مانند اجدادت خواهند بود و تو آن ها را در تمامی سرزمین به حکمرانی می گماری.نام تو را در تمام نسل ها مشهور می سازم و قوم ها تا به ابد سپاسگزار تو خواهند بود.

¹⁶Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

¹⁷نام تو را در تمام نسل ها مشهور می سازم و قوم ها تا به ابد سپاسگزار تو خواهند بود.

¹⁷I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.
