¹ای خدا، ما به گوش خود شنیده ایم و پدران ما کاری را که در روزهای شان و در ایام قدیم انجام داده ای، به ما بیان کرده اند.

¹We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

²تو با دست خود امت ها را بیرون کردی، اما پدران ما را برقرار نمودی. قوم ها را تباه کردی و ایشان را منتشر ساختی.

²How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.

³زیرا که اجداد ما با شمشیر خود زمین را تسخیر نکردند و بازوی ایشان آن ها را نجات نداد بلکه دست راست تو و بازوی تو و نور روی تو. زیرا از ایشان خشنود بودی.

³For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

⁴ای خدا تو پادشاه من هستی، پس بر نجات اولادۀ یعقوب امر فرما.

⁴Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.

⁵با کمک تو دشمنان را مغلوب می کنیم و به نام تو مخالفان خود را پایمال می سازیم.

⁵Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

⁶زیرا بر کمان خود اعتماد نمی کنم و شمشیرم مرا نجات نمی دهد،

⁶For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

⁷بلکه تو ما را از دست جفاکنندگان ما رهایی می بخشی و دشمنان ما را رسوا می سازی.

⁷But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.

⁸تمامی روز بر خدا فخر می نمائیم و نام تو را تا به ابد ستایش می کنیم.

⁸In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

⁹اما حالا تو ما را ترک کرده و رسوا ساخته ای و دیگر لشکرهای ما را همراهی نمی کنی.

⁹But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.

¹⁰ما را از پیش دشمن فرار داده ای و آنانی که از ما نفرت دارند، ما را تاراج می کنند.

¹⁰Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

¹¹ما را مثل گوسفندان برای خوراک تسلیم کرده ای و ما را در میان امت ها پراگنده ساخته ای.

¹¹Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.

¹²قوم برگزیدۀ خود را ارزان فروختی و از قیمت ایشان سودی نبردی.

¹²Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.

¹³ما را نزد همسایگان خوار ساخته ای و ما مورد توهین و تمسخر اطرافیان قرار گرفته ایم.

¹³Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.

¹⁴ما را در میان امت ها ضرب المثل ساخته ای و باعث جنبانیدن سر در میان قوم ها.

¹⁴Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.

¹⁵رسوایی من همه روزه در نظر من است و خجالت رویم را پوشانیده است،

¹⁵My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

¹⁶از آواز ملامت کننده و دشنام دهنده، از روی دشمن و انتقام گیرنده.

¹⁶For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.

¹⁷این همه بر ما واقع شده است، ولی تو را فراموش نکرده ایم و پیمانی را که با ما بسته ای نشکسته ایم،

¹⁷All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.

¹⁸دل ما از تو دور نگردیده و پاهای ما از طریق تو منحرف نشده است.

¹⁸Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

¹⁹هرچند ما را در مکان شغالان کوبیدی و با تاریکی مطلق پوشانیدی.

¹⁹Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

²⁰اگر ما نام خدای خود را فراموش می کردیم و دست خود را بسوی خدایان غیر دراز می کردیم،

²⁰If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;

²¹آیا خدا از این واقف نمی شد؟ زیرا او اسرار قلب را می داند.

²¹Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

²²یقیناً به خاطر تو همواره با مرگ روبرو بوده و مثل گوسفندانی هستیم که منتظر کشته شدن باشند.

²²Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

²³ای خداوند، بیدار شو! چرا خوابیده ای؟ برخیز و ما را تا به ابد ترک مکن.

²³Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

²⁴چرا روی خود را از ما پنهان کرده و ذلت و خواری ما را نادیده می گیری؟

²⁴Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

²⁵زیرا که جان ما بر خاک افتاده و بدن ما به زمین خم شده است.به جهت کمک ما برخیز و به خاطر رحمت خود ما را نجات بخش.

²⁵For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

²⁶به جهت کمک ما برخیز و به خاطر رحمت خود ما را نجات بخش.

²⁶Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.
