¹وای بحال شهر سرکش، شهر ظلم و نجاست،

¹Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

²شهری که به صدای خداوند گوش نمی دهد و اصلاح پذیر نیست. به خداوند توکل نمی کند و از او کمک نمی طلبد.

²She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.

³حاکمان و مأمورین آن مانند شیرهای غران و قضات آن مثل گرگهای گرسنه حریص هستند که از شکار خود تا صبح چیزی باقی نمی گذارند.

³Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.

⁴انبیای آن خودخواه و خیانتکار اند، کاهنانش جایگاه مقدس را نجس می سازند و با احکام خداوند مخالفت می ورزند.

⁴Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

⁵خداوند هنوز هم در آن شهر حضور دارد. او عادل و با انصاف است و بی عدالتی نمی کند. هر صبح بدون استثناء عدالت خود را به برگزیدگان خود نشان می دهد، اما با اینهم، بدکاران با بی حیائی به اعمال شرم آور خود ادامه می دهند.

⁵The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.

⁶خداوند می فرماید: «من اقوام زیادی را از بین برده ام. شهرهای شان را ویران و دیوارها و برجهای آن ها را خراب کرده ام. شهرها متروک و جاده ها از مردم خالی شده اند و یک نفر هم باقی نمانده است.

⁶I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.

⁷گمان کردم که مردم از من می ترسند و تأدیب می شوند و هوشدارهایم را فراموش نمی کنند، اما آن ها توجهی نکردند و به اعمال فاسد خود ادامه دادند.»

⁷I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

⁸بنابراین خداوند می فرماید: «برای من منتظر باشید، روزی که علیه اقوام جهان برخیزم و آن ها را محکوم سازم فرامی رسد. ارادۀ من این است که همۀ سلطنت ها را جمع کنم و خشم خود را بر آن ها بریزم. تمام دنیا در آتش غضب من گداخته می شود.

⁸Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

⁹آنوقت به مردم جهان زبان پاک عطا می کنم تا فقط نام مرا یاد کنند و تنها مرا بپرستند.

⁹For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

¹⁰قوم پراگندۀ من از ماورای دریاهای حبشه با هدایای خود برای عبادت من می آیند.

¹⁰From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.

¹¹در آن زمان شما ای قوم برگزیدۀ من، دیگر از سرکشی ها و کارهائی که علیه من کرده اید، شرمنده نمی شوید و تمام مردم متکبر و خودخواه را از میان شما دور می کنم. از آن ببعد، دیگر در کوه مقدس من غرور و تکبر وجود نمی داشته باشد.

¹¹In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.

¹²فقط کسانی که فروتن و متواضع هستند و به من پناه می آورند، باقی می مانند.

¹²I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

¹³آن ها به کارهای زشت دست نمی زنند، دروغ نمی گویند، حرف فریبنده ای از زبان شان شنیده نمی شود. آن ها در آرامش و امنیت زندگی می کنند و کسی نمی تواند آن ها را بترساند.»

¹³The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

¹⁴ای دختر صَهیون، سرود خوشی را زمزمه کن! ای اسرائیل، آواز شادمانی را بلند کن! ای دختر اورشلیم، به تمامی دل شادمان شو و وجد نما!

¹⁴Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

¹⁵زیرا خداوند گناهان ترا بخشیده و دشمنانت را شکست داده است. خداوند، پادشاه اسرائیل، همراه تو است و تو نباید از هیچ بلائی بترسی.

¹⁵The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

¹⁶در آن روز به اورشلیم می گویند: «نترس! ای صَهیون، دلیر و قوی باش!

¹⁶In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.

¹⁷خداوند، خدایت که در تو سکونت می کند، قادر و توانا است و ترا نجات می دهد. محبت او به تو زندگی تازه می بخشد. خداوند از تو راضی است و با سرودها بر تو خوشی می کند.»

¹⁷The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

¹⁸خداوند می فرماید: «به غمها و مصیبت هایت خاتمه می دهم و دیگر ترا در نظر دشمنان خوار و حقیر نمی سازم.

¹⁸I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.

¹⁹روز جزای کسانی که بر تو ظلم کرده اند، فرامی رسد. مردمان لنگ را نجات می دهم و تبعید شدگان را به وطن شان باز می گردانم. ننگ شان را به عزت و افتخار تبدیل می کنم و آنوقت تمام دنیا از آن ها تمجید و توصیف می کنند.در آن زمان شما را از همه جا جمع می کنم. شما را در جهان مشهور می سازم و در برابر چشمان خود تان یکبار دیگر شما را سعادتمند و شادکام می گردانم.» این را خداوند فرموده است.

¹⁹Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.

²⁰در آن زمان شما را از همه جا جمع می کنم. شما را در جهان مشهور می سازم و در برابر چشمان خود تان یکبار دیگر شما را سعادتمند و شادکام می گردانم.» این را خداوند فرموده است.

²⁰At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
