17

1And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
1 Daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ataf a dweud,
2Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel,
2 "Fab dyn, gosod bos a llefara ddameg wrth du375? Israel,
3and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: A great eagle with great wings, long-pinioned, full of feathers, which was of divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar.
3 a dywed, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Daeth i Lebanon eryr mawr, a chanddo adenydd cryfion, a'i esgyll yn hirion ac yn llawn plu amryliw. Cymerodd frigyn uchaf y gedrwydden,
4He cropped off the top of its young shoots, and carried it into a merchants' land; he set it in a city of traders.
4 a thorrodd flaen uchaf y brigyn a'i gymryd i wlad o fasnachwyr a'i blannu yn ninas marsiandwyr.
5And he took of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, he set it as a willow tree.
5 Cymerodd hefyd beth o had y tir a'i roi mewn daear ffrwythlon; plannodd ef fel helygen wrth ddigon o ddu373?r.
6And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, so that its branches should turn toward him, and the roots thereof be under him; and it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
6 Blagurodd a daeth yn winwydden, 'i thyfiant yn lledu'n isel, ei changhennau'n troi ato ef, ond ei gwreiddiau'n parhau odani. Felly daeth yn winwydden, gan dyfu canghennau a bwrw allan frigau.
7And there was another great eagle with great wings and many feathers; and behold, from the beds of her plantation, this vine did bend her roots unto him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it.
7 Ond yr oedd eryr mawr arall, a chanddo adenydd cryfion a digon o blu, a throdd y winwydden hon ei gwreiddiau i'w gyfeiriad ef, ac o'r rhandir lle plannwyd hi anfonodd allan ganghennau ato ef i geisio du373?r.
8It was planted in a good field by many waters, that it might bring forth branches and bear fruit, that it might be a noble vine.
8 Fe'i trawsblannwyd mewn daear dda wrth ddigon o ddu373?r er mwyn iddi dyfu canghennau, cynhyrchu ffrwyth a dod yn winwydden odidog.'
9Say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Shall it prosper? Shall he not pull up its roots, and cut off its fruit, that it may wither? All its fresh sprouting leaves shall wither, even without a great arm and many people to pluck it up by its roots.
9 Dywed, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: A ffynna hi? Oni chodir ei gwreiddiau hi, a thynnu ei ffrwyth? Oni wywa ei thyfiant newydd hi yn llwyr, nes y gellir tynnu ymaith ei gwreiddiau heb fraich gref na llawer o bobl?
10And behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither when the east wind toucheth it? It shall wither in the beds where it grew.
10 Os trawsblennir hi, a ffynna? Oni wywa'n llwyr, fel petai wedi ei tharo gan wynt y dwyrain gwywo ar y rhandir lle bu'n tyfu?'"
11And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
11 Daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ataf a dweud,
12Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things are? Say, Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took its king and its princes, and led them with him to Babylon.
12 "Dywed wrth y tylwyth gwrthryfelgar hwn, 'Oni wyddoch beth a olyga hyn?' Dywed, 'Daeth brenin Babilon i Jerwsalem a chymryd ei brenin a'i thywysogion, a mynd hwy gydag ef i Fabilon.
13And he took of the king's seed, and made a covenant with him, and brought him under an oath, and he took away the mighty of the land;
13 Yna cymerodd un o'r teulu brenhinol, a gwneud cytundeb ag ef a'i osod dan lw. Aeth ag arweinwyr y wlad ymaith,
14that the kingdom might be abased, that it might not lift itself up, that it might keep his covenant in order to stand.
14 er mwyn darostwng y deyrnas, rhag iddi godi drachefn; ac ni allai sefyll ond trwy gadw cytundeb ag ef.
15But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? shall he break the covenant, and yet escape?
15 Ond gwrthryfelodd y brenin yn ei erbyn trwy anfon negeswyr i'r Aifft i geisio meirch a byddin fawr. A lwydda? A arbedir y sawl sy'n gwneud fel hyn? A all dorri'r cytundeb a chael ei arbed?
16[As] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, verily in the place of the king that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him, in the midst of Babylon, shall he die.
16 Cyn wired 'm bod yn fyw, medd yr Arglwydd DDUW, bydd farw ym Mabilon, yng ngwlad y brenin a'i rhoes ar yr orsedd ac y diystyrodd ei lw ac y torrodd ei gytundeb.
17Neither shall Pharaoh with a mighty army and a great assemblage do anything for him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts to cut off many persons.
17 Ni all Pharo gyda'i fyddin gref a'i lu mawr wneud dim drosto mewn rhyfel, pan godir esgynfa ac adeiladu gwarchglawdd i ladd llawer o bobl.
18He despised the oath, and broke the covenant; and behold, he had given his hand, yet hath he done all these things: he shall not escape.
18 Diystyrodd y llw a thorri'r cytundeb; er iddo daro bargen, eto gwnaeth y pethau hyn, ac felly nis arbedir.
19Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: [As] I live, verily, mine oath which he hath despised, and my covenant which he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his head.
19 Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Cyn wired 'm bod yn fyw, ar ei ben ef ei hun y dygaf fy llw a ddiystyrodd a'm cytundeb a dorrodd.
20And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare; and I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his unfaithfulness in which he hath been unfaithful against me.
20 Taenaf fy rhwyd drosto, ac fe'i delir yn fy magl; af ag ef i Fabilon a'i farnu yno am iddo fod yn anffyddlon i mi.
21And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward every wind; and ye shall know that I Jehovah have spoken.
21 Lleddir 'r cleddyf holl wu375?r dethol ei fyddin, a gwasgerir y gweddill i'r pedwar gwynt. Yna byddwch yn gwybod mai myfi, yr ARGLWYDD, a lefarodd.
22Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also take of the highest branch of the lofty cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of its young shoots a tender one, and I will plant it upon a high and eminent mountain:
22 "'Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Cymeraf finnau hefyd frigyn o ben y gedrwydden a'i blannu; torraf flagur tyner o'r blaenion a'i blannu ar fynydd mawr ac uchel.
23upon the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth branches, and bear fruit, and become a noble cedar; and under it shall dwell all birds of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
23 Ar fynydd-dir uchel Israel y plannaf ef; fe dyf ganghennau, a rhoi ffrwyth a dod yn gedrwydden odidog. Bydd adar o bob math yn nythu ynddo, ac yn clwydo yng nghysgod ei gangau.
24And all the trees of the field shall know that I Jehovah have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and made the dry tree to flourish: I Jehovah have spoken, and will do [it].
24 Bydd holl goed y maes yn gwybod mai myfi'r ARGLWYDD sy'n darostwng y goeden uchel ac yn codi'r goeden isel, yn sychu'r goeden iraidd ac yn bywiocu'r goeden grin. Myfi, yr ARGLWYDD, a lefarodd, ac fe'i gwnaf.'"
