¹Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

¹ Cysurwch, cysurwch fy mhobl � dyna a ddywed eich Duw.

²Speak to the heart of Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her time of suffering is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she hath received of Jehovah's hand double for all her sins.

² Siaradwch yn dyner wrth Jerwsalem, a dywedwch wrthi ei bod wedi cwblhau ei thymor gwasanaeth a bod ei chosb wedi ei thalu, ei bod wedi derbyn yn ddwbl oddi ar law'r ARGLWYDD am ei holl bechodau.

³The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare ye the way of Jehovah, make straight in the desert a highway for our God!

³ Llais un yn galw, "Paratowch yn yr anialwch ffordd yr ARGLWYDD, unionwch yn y diffeithwch briffordd i'n Duw ni.

⁴Every valley shall be raised up, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places a plain.

⁴ Caiff pob pant ei godi, pob mynydd a bryn ei ostwng; gwneir y tir ysgythrog yn llyfn, a'r tir anwastad yn wastadedd.

⁵And the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see [it] together: for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken.

⁵ Datguddir gogoniant yr ARGLWYDD, a phawb ynghyd yn ei weld. Genau'r ARGLWYDD a lefarodd."

⁶A voice saith, Cry. And he saith, What shall I cry? -- All flesh is grass, and all the comeliness thereof as the flower of the field.

⁶ Llais un yn dweud, "Galw"; a daw'r ateb, "Beth a alwaf? Y mae pob un meidrol fel glaswellt, a'i holl nerth fel blodeuyn y maes.

⁷The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, for the breath of Jehovah bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

⁷ Y mae'r glaswellt yn crino, a'r blodeuyn yn gwywo pan chwyth anadl yr ARGLWYDD arno. Yn wir, glaswellt yw'r bobl.

⁸The grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God abideth for ever.

⁸ Y mae'r glaswellt yn crino, a'r blodeuyn yn gwywo; ond y mae gair ein Duw ni yn sefyll hyd byth."

⁹O Zion, that bringest glad tidings, get thee up into a high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest glad tidings, lift up thy voice with strength: lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

⁹ Dring i fynydd uchel; ti, Seion, sy'n cyhoeddi newyddion da, cod dy lais yn gryf; ti, Jerwsalem, sy'n cyhoeddi newyddion da, gwaedda, paid ag ofni. Dywed wrth ddinasoedd Jwda, "Dyma eich Duw chwi."

¹⁰Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come with might, and his arm shall rule for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompence before him.

¹⁰ Wele'r Arglwydd DDUW yn dod mewn nerth, yn rheoli �'i fraich. Wele, y mae ei wobr ganddo, a'i d�l gydag ef.

¹¹He will feed his flock like a shepherd: he will gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom; he will gently lead those that give suck.

¹¹ Y mae'n porthi ei braidd fel bugail, ac �'i fraich yn eu casglu ynghyd; y mae'n cludo'r u373?yn yn ei g�l, ac yn coleddu'r mamogiaid.

¹²Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out the heavens with [his] span, and grasped the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in a balance, and the hills in scales?

¹² Pwy a fesurodd y dyfroedd yng nghledr ei law, a gosod terfyn y nefoedd �'i rychwant? Pwy a roes holl bridd y ddaear mewn mantol, a phwyso'r mynyddoedd mewn tafol, a'r bryniau mewn clorian?

¹³Who hath directed the Spirit of Jehovah, and, [as] his counsellor, hath taught him?

¹³ Pwy a gyfarwydda ysbryd yr ARGLWYDD, a bod yn gynghorwr i'w ddysgu?

¹⁴With whom took he counsel, and [who] gave him intelligence, and instructed him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed him the way of understanding?

¹⁴ � phwy yr ymgynghora ef i ennill deall, a phwy a ddysg iddo lwybrau barn? Pwy a ddysg iddo wybodaeth, a'i gyfarwyddo yn llwybrau deall?

¹⁵Behold, the nations are esteemed as a drop of the bucket, and as the fine dust on the scales; behold, he taketh up the isles as an atom.

¹⁵ Y mae'r cenhedloedd fel defnyn allan o gelwrn, i'w hystyried fel m�n lwch y cloriannau; y mae'r ynysoedd mor ddibwys �'r llwch ar y llawr.

¹⁶And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt-offering.

¹⁶ Nid oes yn Lebanon ddigon o goed i roi tanwydd, na digon o anifeiliaid ar gyfer poethoffrwm.

¹⁷All the nations are as nothing before him; they are esteemed by him less than a cipher, and vanity.

¹⁷ Nid yw'r holl genhedloedd yn ddim ger ei fron ef; y maent yn llai na dim, ac i'w hystyried yn ddiddim.

¹⁸To whom then will ye liken ùGod? and what likeness will ye compare unto him?

¹⁸ I bwy, ynteu, y cyffelybwch Dduw? Pa lun a dynnwch ohono?

¹⁹The workman casteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains [for it].

¹⁹ Ai delw? Crefftwr sy'n llunio honno, ac eurych yn ei goreuro ac yn gwneud cadwyni arian iddi.

²⁰He that is impoverished, so that he hath no offering, chooseth a tree that doth not rot; he seeketh unto him a skilled workman to prepare a graven image that shall not be moved.

²⁰ Y mae un sy'n rhy dlawd i wneud hynny yn dewis darn o bren na phydra, ac yn ceisio crefftwr cywrain i'w osod i fyny'n ddelw na ellir ei syflyd.

²¹-- Do ye not know? Have ye not heard? Hath it not been told you from the beginning? Have ye not understood the foundation of the earth?

²¹ Oni wyddoch? Oni chlywsoch? Oni fynegwyd i chwi o'r dechreuad? Onid ydych wedi amgyffred er sylfaenu'r ddaear?

²²[It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a gauze curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in;

²² Y mae ef yn eistedd ar gromen y ddaear, a'i thrigolion yn ymddangos fel locustiaid. Y mae'n taenu'r nefoedd fel llen, ac yn ei lledu fel pabell i drigo ynddi.

²³that bringeth the princes to nothing, that maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

²³ Y mae'n gwneud y mawrion yn ddiddim, a rheolwyr y ddaear yn dryblith.

²⁴Scarcely are they planted, scarcely are they sown, scarcely hath their stock taken root in the earth, but he also bloweth upon them and they wither, and the whirlwind taketh them away as stubble.

²⁴ Prin eu bod wedi eu plannu na'u hau, prin bod eu gwraidd wedi cydio yn y pridd, nag y bydd ef yn chwythu arnynt, a hwythau'n gwywo, a chorwynt yn eu dwyn ymaith fel us.

²⁵To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

²⁵ "I bwy, ynteu, y cyffelybwch fi? Tebyg i bwy?" meddai'r Sanct.

²⁶Lift up your eyes on high, and see! Who hath created these things, bringing out their host by number? He calleth them all by name; through the greatness of his might and strength of power, not one faileth.

²⁶ Codwch eich llygaid i fyny; edrychwch, pwy a fu'n creu'r pethau hyn? Pwy a fu'n galw allan eu llu fesul un ac yn rhoi enw i bob un ohonynt? Gan faint ei nerth, a'i fod mor eithriadol gryf, nid oes yr un ar �l.

²⁷Why sayest thou, Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Jehovah, and my right is passed away from my God?

²⁷ Pam y dywedi, O Jacob, ac y lleferi, O Israel, "Cuddiwyd fy nghyflwr oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD, ac aeth fy hawliau o olwg fy Nuw"?

²⁸Dost thou not know, hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not nor tireth? There is no searching of his understanding.

²⁸ Oni wyddost, oni chlywaist? Duw tragwyddol yw'r ARGLWYDD a greodd gyrrau'r ddaear; ni ddiffygia ac ni flina, ac y mae ei ddeall yn anchwiliadwy.

²⁹He giveth power to the faint; and to him that hath no might he increaseth strength.

²⁹ Y mae'n rhoi nerth i'r diffygiol, ac yn ychwanegu cryfder i'r di�rym.

³⁰Even the youths shall faint and shall tire, and the young men shall stumble and fall;

³⁰ Y mae'r ifainc yn diffygio ac yn blino, a'r cryfion yn syrthio'n llipa;

³¹but they that wait upon Jehovah shall renew [their] strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not tire; they shall walk, and not faint.

³¹ ond y mae'r rhai sy'n disgwyl wrth yr ARGLWYDD yn adennill eu nerth; y maent yn magu adenydd fel eryr, yn rhedeg heb flino, ac yn rhodio heb ddiffygio.
