Isaiah

41

1Keep silence before me, islands; and let the peoples renew [their] strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us draw near together to judgment.
1 "Rhowch sylw astud i mi, chwi ynysoedd, bydded i'r bobl nesu; bydded iddynt nesu a llefaru; down ynghyd i farn.
2Who raised up from the east him whom righteousness calleth to its foot? He gave the nations before him, and caused him to have dominion over kings; he gave them as dust to his sword, as driven stubble to his bow.
2 "Pwy sy'n codi un o'r dwyrain, a buddugoliaeth yn ei gyfarfod bob cam? Y mae'n bwrw cenhedloedd i lawr o'i flaen, ac yn darostwng brenhinoedd. Y mae'n eu gwneud fel llwch 'i gleddyf, fel us yn chwyrlo 'i fwa.
3He pursued them, he passed on in safety, by a way he had never come with his feet.
3 Y mae'n eu hymlid, ac yn tramwyo'n ddiogel ar hyd llwybr na throediodd o'r blaen.
4Who hath wrought and done [it], calling the generations from the beginning? I, Jehovah, the first; and with the last, I [am] HE.
4 Pwy a wnaeth ac a gyflawnodd hyn, a galw'r cenedlaethau o'r dechreuad? Myfi, yr ARGLWYDD, yw'r dechrau, a myfi sydd yno yn y diwedd hefyd."
5The isles saw [it], and feared; the ends of the earth trembled: they drew near, and came.
5 Gwelodd yr ynysoedd, ac ofni; daeth cryndod ar eithafion byd; daethant, a nesu.
6They helped every one his neighbour, and [each] said to his brother, Take courage.
6 Y mae pawb yn helpu ei gilydd, a'r naill yn dweud wrth y llall, "Ymgryfha."
7And the artizan encouraged the founder, he that smootheth [with] the hammer him that smiteth on the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good; and he fasteneth it with nails, that it be not moved.
7 Y mae'r crefftwr yn annog yr eurych, a'r un sy'n llyfnhau 'r morthwyl yn annog yr un sy'n taro ar yr eingion; y mae'n dyfarnu bod y sodro'n iawn, ac yn sicrhau'r ddelw hoelion rhag iddi symud.
8But thou, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham, my friend
8 "Ti, Israel, yw fy ngwas; ti, Jacob, a ddewisais, had Abraham, f'anwylyd.
9-- thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from the extremities thereof, and to whom I said, Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee and not rejected thee,
9 Dygais di o bellteroedd byd, a'th alw o'i eithafion, a dweud wrthyt, 'Fy ngwas wyt ti; 'rwyf wedi dy ddewis ac nid dy wrthod.'
10-- Fear not, for I [am] with thee; be not dismayed, for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
10 Paid ag ofni, yr wyf fi gyda thi; paid dychryn, myfi yw dy Dduw. Cryfhaf di a'th nerthu, cynhaliaf di llaw dde orchfygol.
11Lo, all that are incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded; they that strive with thee shall be as nothing, and shall perish.
11 Yn awr cywilyddir a gwaradwyddir pob un sy'n digio wrthyt; bydd pob un sy'n ymrafael thi yn mynd yn ddim ac yn diflannu.
12Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them -- them that contend with thee; they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
12 Byddi'n chwilio am y rhai sy'n ymosod arnat, ond heb eu cael; bydd pob un sy'n rhyfela yn dy erbyn yn mynd yn ddim, ac yn llai na dim.
13For I, Jehovah, thy God, hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
13 Canys myfi, yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw, sy'n gafael yn dy law dde, ac yn dweud wrthyt, 'Paid ag ofni, yr wyf fi'n dy gynorthwyo.'
14Fear not, thou worm Jacob, ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith Jehovah, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
14 "Paid ag ofni, ti'r pryfyn Jacob, na thithau'r lleuen Israel; byddaf fi'n dy gynorthwyo," medd yr ARGLWYDD, Sanct Israel, dy Waredydd.
15Behold, I have made of thee a new sharp threshing instrument having double teeth: thou shalt thresh and beat small the mountains, and shalt make the hills as chaff;
15 "Yn awr, fe'th wnaf yn fen-ddyrnu un newydd, ddanheddog a miniog; byddi'n dyrnu'r mynyddoedd a'u malu, ac yn gwneud y bryniau fel us.
16thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; and thou shalt rejoice in Jehovah, thou shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
16 Byddi'n eu nithio, a'r gwynt yn eu chwythu i ffwrdd, a'r dymestl yn eu gwasgaru. Ond byddi di'n llawenychu yn yr ARGLWYDD ac yn ymhyfrydu yn Sanct Israel.
17The afflicted and the needy seek water, and there is none; their tongue faileth for thirst: I, Jehovah, will answer them, [I], the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
17 "Pan fydd y tlawd a'r anghenus yn chwilio am ddu373?r, heb ei gael, a'u tafodau'n gras gan syched, byddaf fi, yr ARGLWYDD, yn eu hateb; ni fyddaf fi, Duw Israel, yn eu gadael.
18I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs.
18 Agoraf afonydd ar ben y moelydd, a ffynhonnau yng nghanol y dyffrynnoedd; gwnaf y diffeithwch yn llynnoedd, a'r crastir yn ffrydiau dyfroedd.
19I will give in the wilderness the cedar, acacia, myrtle, and oleaster; I will set in the desert the cypress, pine, and box-tree together;
19 Plannaf yn yr anialwch gedrwydd, acasia, myrtwydd ac olewydd; gosodaf ynghyd yn y diffeithwch ffynidwydd, ffawydd a phren bocs.
20that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of Jehovah hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
20 Felly cnt weld a gwybod, ystyried ac amgyffred mai llaw'r ARGLWYDD a wnaeth hyn, ac mai Sanct Israel a'i creodd."
21Produce your cause, saith Jehovah; bring forward your arguments, saith the King of Jacob.
21 "Gosodwch eich achos gerbron," medd yr ARGLWYDD. "Cyflwynwch eich dadleuon," medd brenin Jacob.
22Let them bring them forward, and declare to us what shall happen: shew the former things, what they are, that we may give attention to them, and know the end of them; -- or let us hear things to come:
22 "Bydded iddynt ddod a hysbysu i ni beth sydd i ddigwydd. Beth oedd y pethau cyntaf? Dywedwch, er mwyn inni eu hystyried, a gwybod eu canlyniadau; neu dywedwch wrthym y pethau sydd i ddod.
23declare the things that are to happen hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods; yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be astonished, and behold it together.
23 Mynegwch y pethau a ddaw ar l hyn, inni gael gwybod mai duwiau ydych; gwnewch rywbeth, da neu ddrwg, er mwyn i ni gael braw ac ofni trwom.
24Behold, ye are less than nothing, and your work is of nought; an abomination is he that chooseth you. ...
24 Yn wir, nid ydych chwi'n ddim, ac nid yw'ch gwaith ond diddim. Ffieiddbeth yw'r un sy'n eich dewis.
25I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come, -- from the rising of the sun, he who will call upon my name; and he shall come upon princes as on mortar, and as the potter treadeth clay.
25 "Codais un o'r gogledd, ac fe ddaeth, un o'r dwyrain, ac fe eilw ar f'enw; y mae'n sathru rhaglawiaid fel pridd, ac fel crochenydd yn sathru clai.
26Who hath declared [it] from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, [It is] right? Indeed, there is none that declareth; no, none that sheweth; no, none that heareth your words.
26 Pwy a fynegodd hyn o'r dechreuad, inni gael gwybod, neu ei ddweud ymlaen llaw, inni gael ei ategu? Nid oes neb wedi dweud na mynegi dim, ac ni chlywodd neb eich ymadrodd.
27The first, [I said] to Zion, Behold, behold them! and to Jerusalem, I will give one that bringeth glad tidings.
27 Gosodaf un i lefaru'n gyntaf wrth Seion, ac i gyhoeddi newyddion da i Jerwsalem.
28And I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, -- and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.
28 Pan edrychaf, nid oes neb yno; nid oes cynghorwr yn eu plith a all ateb pan ofynnaf.
29Behold, they are all vanity, their works are nought, their molten images are wind and emptiness.
29 Yn wir, nid ydynt i gyd ond dim; llai na dim yw eu gwaith, gwynt a gwagedd yw eu delwau."
