1And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
1 Daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ataf a dweud,
2Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith Jehovah: I remember for thee the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.
2 "Dos, a chyhoedda yng nghlyw Jerwsalem, a dywed: 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Cofiaf di am dy deyrngarwch yn dy ieuenctid, ac am dy serch yn ddyweddi, ac am iti fy nghanlyn yn y diffeithwch, mewn tir heb ei hau.
3Israel was holiness unto Jehovah, the first-fruits of his increase: all that devour him are guilty; evil shall come upon them, saith Jehovah.
3 Yr oedd Israel yn gysegredig i'r ARGLWYDD, ac yn flaenffrwyth ei gnwd. Euog oedd pwy bynnag a'i bwytaodd; daeth dinistr arno,'" medd yr ARGLWYDD.
4Hear the word of Jehovah, house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel.
4 Clywch air yr ARGLWYDD, O du375? Jacob, a holl deuluoedd tu375? Israel.
5Thus saith Jehovah: What injustice have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and become vain?
5 Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: "Pa fai a gafodd eich hynafiaid ynof, i ymbellhau oddi wrthyf, i rodio ar l oferedd, a mynd yn ofer?
6And they said not, Where is Jehovah, that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us in the wilderness, in a land of deserts and of pits, in a land of drought and of the shadow of death, in a land that no one passeth through, and where no man dwelleth?
6 Ni ddywedasant, 'Ple mae'r ARGLWYDD a'n dygodd i fyny o'r Aifft, a'n harwain yn y diffeithwch, mewn tir anial, llawn o dyllau, tir sychder a thywyllwch dudew, tir nas troediwyd erioed, ac na thrigodd neb ynddo?'
7And I brought you into a fruitful land, to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof; and ye entered and defiled my land, and made my heritage an abomination.
7 Dygais chwi i wlad gnydfawr, i fwyta ei ffrwyth a'i daioni; ond daethoch i mewn a halogi fy nhir, a gwneud fy etifeddiaeth yn ffieidd-dra.
8The priests said not, Where is Jehovah? and they that handled the law knew me not; and the shepherds transgressed against me; and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after [things that] do not profit.
8 Ni ddywedodd yr offeiriaid, 'Ple mae'r ARGLWYDD?' Ni fu i'r rhai oedd yn trin y gyfraith f'adnabod, a throseddodd y bugeiliaid yn f'erbyn; proffwydodd y proffwydi trwy Baal, gan ddilyn pethau dilesd.
9Therefore will I yet plead with you, saith Jehovah, and with your children's children will I plead.
9 "Am hyn, fe'ch cyhuddaf drachefn," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "gan gyhuddo hefyd blant eich plant.
10For pass over to the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there have been such a thing.
10 Tramwywch drwy ynysoedd Chittim ac edrychwch; anfonwch i Cedar, ystyriwch a gwelwch a fu'r fath beth.
11Hath a nation changed [its] gods? and they are no gods; -- but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
11 A fu i unrhyw genedl newid ei duwiau, a hwythau heb fod yn dduwiau? Ond rhoddodd fy mhobl eu gogoniant yn gyfnewid am bethau di-lesd.
12Be astonished, ye heavens, at this, and shudder; be amazed very much, saith Jehovah.
12 O nefoedd, rhyfeddwch at hyn; arswydwch, ac ewch yn gwbl ddiffaith," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
13For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, to hew them out cisterns, broken cisterns that hold no water.
13 "Yn wir, gwnaeth fy mhobl ddau ddrwg: fe'm gadawsant i, ffynnon y dyfroedd byw, a chloddio iddynt eu hunain bydewau, pydewau toredig, na allant ddal du373?r.
14Is Israel a bondman? Is he a home-born [slave]? Why is he become a spoil?
14 "Ai caethwas yw Israel? Neu a anwyd ef yn gaeth? Pam, ynteu, yr aeth yn ysbail?
15The young lions roared against him, they gave forth their voice, and they made his land desolate: his cities are burned, without inhabitant.
15 Rhuodd y llewod a chodi eu llais yn ei erbyn. Gwnaethant ei dir yn ddiffaith, a'i ddinasoedd yn anghyfannedd heb drigiannydd.
16Even the children of Noph and Tahapanes have fed on the crown of thy head.
16 Hefyd, torrodd meibion Noff a Tahpanhes dy gorun.
17Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken Jehovah thy God, at the time he was leading thee in the way?
17 Oni ddygaist hyn arnat dy hun, trwy adael yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw pan oedd yn d'arwain yn y ffordd?
18And now, what hast thou to do with the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Shihor? And what hast thou to do with the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?
18 Yn awr, beth a wnei di yn mynd i'r Aifft, i yfed dyfroedd y Neil, neu'n mynd i Asyria, i yfed dyfroedd yr Ewffrates?
19Thine own wickedness chastiseth thee, and thy backslidings reprove thee: know then and see that it is an evil thing and bitter that thou hast forsaken Jehovah thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.
19 Fe'th gosbir gan dy ddrygioni dy hun, a'th geryddu gan dy wrthgiliad. Ystyria a gwl mai drwg a chwerw yw i ti adael yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw, a pheidio 'm hofni," medd yr Arglwydd, DUW y Lluoedd.
20For of old thou hast broken thy yoke, [and] burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not serve. For upon every high hill, and under every green tree, thou bowest down, playing the harlot.
20 "Erstalwm yr wyt wedi torri dy iau a dryllio dy rwymau, a dweud, 'Ni wasanaethaf'. Canys ar bob bryn uchel a than bob pren gwyrddlas, plygaist i buteinio.
21And I, -- I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed; how then art thou turned into the degenerate shoots of a strange vine unto me?
21 Plennais di yn winwydden br, o had gln pur; sut ynteu y'th drowyd yn blanhigyn afrywiog i mi, yn winwydden estron?
22For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much potash, thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord Jehovah.
22 Pe bait yn ymolchi neitr, a chymryd llawer o sebon, byddai l dy gamwedd yn aros ger fy mron," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
23How sayest thou, I am not defiled, I have not gone after the Baals? See thy way in the valley, acknowledge what thou hast done -- a swift dromedary traversing her ways!
23 "Sut y gelli ddweud, 'Nid wyf wedi fy halogi, na mynd ar l Baalim?' Gwl dy ffordd yn y glyn; ystyria beth a wnaethost. Camel chwim ydwyt, yn gwibio'n ddi-drefn yn ei llwybrau;
24-- a wild ass, used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind in her desire! In her ardour, who shall turn her away? All they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
24 asen wyllt, a'i chynefin yn yr anialwch, yn ei blys yn ffroeni'r gwynt. Pwy a atal ei nwyd? Ni flina'r un sy'n ei chwennych; fe'i cnt yn ei hamser.
25Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst. But thou saidst, There is no hope; no, for I love strangers, and after them will I go.
25 Cadw dy droed rhag noethni, a'th lwnc rhag syched. Ond dywedaist, 'Nid oes gobaith. Mi gerais estroniaid ac ar eu hl hwy yr af.'
26As a thief is ashamed when he is found, so shall the house of Israel be ashamed -- they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets --
26 "Fel cywilydd lleidr wedi ei ddal y cywilyddia tu375? Israel hwy, eu brenhinoedd, a'u tywysogion, eu hoffeiriaid a'u proffwydi.
27saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth; for they have turned the back unto me, and not the face; and in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us!
27 Dywedant wrth bren, 'Ti yw fy nhad', ac wrth garreg, 'Ti a'm cenhedlodd'. Troesant ataf wegil, ac nid wyneb; ond yn awr eu hadfyd dywedant, 'Cod, achub ni'.
28Where then are thy gods that thou hast made for thyself? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for as the number of thy cities, are thy gods, O Judah.
28 Ple mae dy dduwiau, a wnaethost iti? Boed iddynt hwy godi os gallant dy achub yn awr dy adfyd. Oherwydd y mae dy dduwiau mor niferus 'th ddinasoedd, O Jwda.
29Wherefore would ye contend with me? Ye all have transgressed against me, saith Jehovah.
29 Pam yr ydych yn dadlau mi? Rydych wedi gwrthryfela yn f'erbyn, bawb ohonoch," medd yr ARGLWYDD.
30In vain have I smitten your children: they received no correction. Your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
30 "Yn ofer y trewais eich plant; ni dderbyniant gerydd. Y mae eich cleddyf wedi difa'ch proffwydi, fel llew yn rheibio.
31O generation, mark ye the word of Jehovah. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel, or a land of thick darkness? Wherefore say my people, We have dominion; we will come no more unto thee?
31 Chwi genhedlaeth, ystyriwch air yr ARGLWYDD. Ai anialwch a fm i Israel, neu wlad tywyllwch? Pam y dywed fy mhobl, 'Yr ydym ni'n rhydd; ni ddown mwyach atat ti'?
32Doth a virgin forget her ornaments, a bride her attire? But my people have forgotten me days without number.
32 A anghofia geneth ei thlysau, neu briodferch ei rhubanau? Eto y mae fy mhobl wedi fy anghofio i, ddyddiau di-rif.
33How dost thou trim thy way to seek love! Therefore hast thou also accustomed thy ways to wickedness.
33 "Mor dda yr wyt yn dewis dy ffordd i geisio cariadon, gan ddysgu dy ffyrdd hyd yn oed i ferched drwg.
34Yea, in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the innocent poor, whom thou didst not encounter breaking in, but [it is found] upon all these.
34 Cafwyd ym mhlygion dy wisg waed einioes tlodion diniwed ac nid yn torri i mewn y deliaist hwy
35And thou sayest, Indeed I am innocent; his anger will turn from me. Behold, I will enter into judgment with thee because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
35 ond er hyn i gyd, yr wyt yn dweud, 'Rwy'n ddieuog; fe dry ei lid oddi wrthyf.' Ond wele, fe'th ddygaf i farn am iti ddweud, 'Ni phechais.'
36Why dost thou gad about so much, and change thy way? Thou shalt also be brought to shame by Egypt, as thou wast brought to shame by Assyria.
36 Mor ddi-hid wyt yn newid dy ffordd; fe'th gywilyddir gan yr Aifft, fel y cywilyddiwyd di gan Asyria.
37Thou shalt indeed go forth from her with thy hands upon thy head; for Jehovah hath rejected those thou confidest in, and thou shalt not prosper by them.
37 Doi allan oddi yno hefyd, a'th ddwylo ar dy ben, oherwydd gwrthoda'r ARGLWYDD y rhai yr ymddiriedi ynddynt, ac ni lwyddi drwyddynt.
