¹The word that came unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Malchijah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, saying,

¹ Dyma'r gair a ddaeth at Jeremeia oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD pan anfonodd y Brenin Sedeceia ato ef Pasur fab Malcheia a'r offeiriad Seffaneia fab Maaseia, a dweud,

²Inquire, I pray thee, of Jehovah for us; for Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that Jehovah will deal with us according to all his marvellous works, that he may go up from us.

² "Ymofyn �'r ARGLWYDD drosom ni, oherwydd y mae Nebuchadnesar brenin Babilon yn rhyfela yn ein herbyn. Tybed a wna yr ARGLWYDD � ni yn �l ei holl ryfeddodau, a pheri iddo gilio ymaith oddi wrthym?"

³And Jeremiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah:

³ Dywedodd Jeremeia wrthynt, "Dyma'r hyn a ddywedwch wrth Sedeceia:

⁴Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel: Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans who besiege you, outside the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.

⁴ 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel: Wele fi'n troi arnoch chwi yr arfau rhyfel sydd yn eich dwylo i ymladd yn erbyn brenin Babilon a'r Caldeaid, sy'n gwarchae arnoch o'r tu allan i'r gaer; fe'u casglaf hwy i ganol y ddinas hon.

⁵And I myself will fight against you with a stretched-out hand, and with a strong arm, and in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.

⁵ Byddaf fi fy hun yn rhyfela yn eich erbyn, a'm llaw wedi ei hestyn allan, a'm braich yn gref, mewn soriant a llid a digofaint mawr.

⁶And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.

⁶ Trawaf drigolion y ddinas hon, yn ddyn ac yn anifail; byddant farw o haint mawr.

⁷And afterwards, saith Jehovah, I will give Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life, and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword: he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

⁷ Ac wedi hynny, medd yr ARGLWYDD, rhof Sedeceia brenin Jwda a'i weision, a'r bobl a weddillir yn y ddinas hon wedi'r haint a'r cleddyf a'r newyn, yng ngafael Nebuchadnesar brenin Babilon, ac yng ngafael eu gelynion a'r rhai a geisiai eu heinioes. Bydd ef yn eu taro � min y cleddyf, heb dosturio wrthynt nac arbed nac estyn trugaredd.'

⁸And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

⁸ "Wrth y bobl hyn hefyd dywed, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Wele fi'n gosod o'ch blaen ffordd bywyd a ffordd marwolaeth.

⁹He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence; but he that goeth out, and deserteth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.

⁹ Bydd y sawl sy'n aros yn y ddinas hon yn marw drwy gleddyf neu newyn neu haint, a'r sawl sy'n mynd allan ac yn ildio i'r Caldeaid sy'n gwarchae arnoch yn byw; bydd yn arbed ei fywyd.

¹⁰For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith Jehovah: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

¹⁰ Gosodais fy wyneb yn erbyn y ddinas hon, er drwg ac nid er da, medd yr ARGLWYDD; fe'i rhoddir yng ngafael brenin Babilon, a bydd ef yn ei llosgi � th�n.'

¹¹And touching the house of the king of Judah, hear ye the word of Jehovah.

¹¹ "Wrth du375? brenin Jwda dywed, 'Clyw air yr ARGLWYDD.

¹²House of David, thus saith Jehovah: Judge with justice in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go forth like fire and burn, and there be none to quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

¹² Tu375? Dafydd, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Barnwch yn uniawn yn y bore, achubwch yr ysbeiliedig o afael y gormeswr, rhag i'm llid fynd allan yn d�n, a llosgi heb neb i'w ddiffodd, oherwydd eich gweithredoedd drwg.'

¹³Behold, I am against thee, inhabitress of the valley, the rock of the plain, saith Jehovah; ye that say, Who shall come down against us, or who shall enter into our dwellings?

¹³ "Wele fi yn dy erbyn, ti breswylydd y dyffryn wrth graig y gwastadedd," medd yr ARGLWYDD. "Fe ddywedwch chwi, 'Pwy ddaw i waered yn ein herbyn? Pwy ddaw i mewn i'n gw�l?'

¹⁴And I will visit you according to the fruit of your doings, saith Jehovah; and I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all that is round about her.

¹⁴ Talaf i chwi yn �l ffrwyth eich gweithredoedd," medd yr ARGLWYDD. "Cyneuaf d�n yn ei choedwig, ac ysa bob peth o'i hamgylch."
