1He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and without remedy.
1 Bydd un sy'n ystyfnigo trwy ei geryddu'n fynych yn cael ei ddryllio'n sydyn heb fodd i'w adfer.
2When the righteous increase, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
2 Pan fydd y cyfiawn yn llywodraethu, llawenha'r bobl, ond pan fydd y drygionus yn rheoli, bydd y bobl yn griddfan.
3Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father; but he that is a companion of harlots destroyeth [his] substance.
3 Y mae'r un sy'n caru doethineb yn rhoi llawenydd i'w dad, ond y mae'r un sy'n cyfeillachu � phuteiniaid yn gwastraffu ei eiddo.
4A king by just judgment establisheth the land; but he that taketh gifts overthroweth it.
4 Y mae brenin yn rhoi cadernid i wlad trwy gyfiawnder, ond y mae'r un sy'n codi trethi yn ei difa.
5A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his steps.
5 Y mae'r sawl sy'n gwenieithio wrth ei gyfaill yn taenu rhwyd i'w draed.
6In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare; but the righteous shall sing and rejoice.
6 Rhwydir y drygionus gan gamwedd, ond y mae'r cyfiawn yn canu'n llawen.
7The righteous taketh knowledge of the cause of the poor; the wicked understandeth not knowledge.
7 Y mae'r cyfiawn yn gwybod hawliau'r tlodion, ond nid yw'r drygionus yn ystyried deall.
8Scornful men set the city in a flame; but the wise turn away anger.
8 Y mae'r gwatwarwyr yn creu cyffro mewn dinas, ond y mae'r doethion yn tawelu dicter.
9If a wise man contendeth with a fool, whether he rage or laugh, [he] hath no rest.
9 Os � un doeth i gyfraith � ffu373?l, bydd y ffu373?l yn cythruddo ac yn gwawdio, ac ni cheir llonyddwch.
10The bloodthirsty hate the perfect, but the upright care for his soul.
10 Y mae rhai gwaedlyd yn cas�u'r un cywir, ond y mae'r rhai cyfiawn yn diogelu ei fywyd.
11A fool uttereth all his mind; but a wise [man] keepeth it back.
11 Y mae'r ffu373?l yn arllwys ei holl ddig, ond y mae'r doeth yn ei gadw dan reolaeth.
12If a ruler hearken to lying words, all his servants are wicked.
12 Os yw llywodraethwr yn gwrando ar gelwydd, bydd ei holl weision yn ddrygionus.
13The indigent and the oppressor meet together; Jehovah lighteneth the eyes of them both.
13 Y mae hyn yn gyffredin i'r tlawd a'r gormeswr: yr ARGLWYDD sy'n goleuo llygaid y ddau.
14A king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
14 Os yw brenin yn barnu'r tlodion yn gywir, yna fe sefydlir ei orsedd am byth.
15The rod and reproof give wisdom; but a child left [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame.
15 Y mae gwialen a cherydd yn rhoi doethineb, ond y mae plentyn afreolus yn dwyn gwarth ar ei fam.
16When the wicked increase, transgression increaseth; but the righteous shall see their fall.
16 Pan amlha'r drygionus, bydd camwedd yn cynyddu, ond bydd y cyfiawn yn edrych ar eu cwymp.
17Chasten thy son, and he shall give thee rest, and shall give delight unto thy soul.
17 Disgybla dy fab, a daw � chysur iti, a rhydd lawenydd iti yn dy fywyd.
18Where there is no vision the people cast off restraint; but happy is he that keepeth the law.
18 Lle na cheir gweledigaeth, bydd y bobl ar chw�l; ond gwyn ei fyd y sawl sy'n cadw'r gyfraith.
19A servant is not corrected by words: he understandeth indeed, but he will not answer.
19 Nid � geiriau yn unig y disgyblir gwas; er iddo ddeall, nid yw'n ymateb.
20Hast thou seen a man hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
20 Fe welaist un sy'n eiddgar i siarad; y mae mwy o obaith i'r ffu373?l nag iddo ef.
21He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child, shall in the end have him as a son.
21 Wrth faldodi gwas o'i lencyndod, bydd yn troi'n anniolchgar yn y diwedd.
22An angry man exciteth contention; and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
22 Codi cynnen y mae rhywun cas, ac un dicllon yn ychwanegu camwedd.
23A man's pride bringeth him low; but the humble in spirit shall obtain honour.
23 Y mae balchder unrhyw un yn ei ddarostwng, ond y mae'r gostyngedig yn cael anrhydedd.
24Whoso shareth with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth the adjuration, and declareth not.
24 Gelyn iddo'i hun yw'r sawl sy'n rhannu � lleidr; y mae'n clywed y felltith, ond heb ddweud dim.
25The fear of man bringeth a snare; but whoso putteth his confidence in Jehovah is protected.
25 Magl yw ofni pobl, ond diogel yw'r un sy'n ymddiried yn yr ARGLWYDD.
26Many seek the ruler's face; but a man's right judgment is from Jehovah.
26 Y mae llawer yn ceisio ffafr llywodraethwr, ond oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD y daw cyfiawnder.
27An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous; and he that is of upright way is an abomination to the wicked [man].
27 Y mae'r cyfiawn yn ffieiddio'r anghyfiawn, a'r drygionus yn ffieiddio'r uniawn ei ffordd.
