1The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him:
1 Geiriau Lemuel brenin Massa, y rhai a ddysgodd ei fam iddo:
2What, my son? and what, O son of my womb? and what, O son of my vows?
2 Beth yw hyn, fy mab, mab fy nghroth? Beth yw hyn, mab fy addunedau?
3Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to them that destroy kings.
3 Paid threulio dy nerth gyda merched, na'th fywyd gyda'r rhai sy'n dinistrio brenhinoedd.
4It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for rulers [to say], Where is the strong drink?
4 Nid gweddus i frenhinoedd, O Lemuel, nid gweddus i frenhinoedd yfed gwin, ac nid gweddus i reolwyr flysio diod gadarn,
5-- lest they drink and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the children of affliction.
5 rhag iddynt yfed, ac anghofio'r hyn a ddeddfwyd, a gwyrdroi achos y rhai gorthrymedig i gyd.
6Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto the bitter of soul:
6 Rhowch ddiod gadarn i'r un sydd ar ddarfod, a gwin i'r chwerw ei ysbryd;
7let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
7 cnt hwy yfed ac anghofio'u tlodi, a pheidio chofio'u gofid byth mwy.
8Open thy mouth for the dumb, for the cause of all those that are left desolate.
8 Dadlau o blaid y mud, a thros achos yr holl rai diobaith.
9Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and minister justice to the afflicted and needy.
9 Siarad yn eglur, a rho farn gyfiawn; cefnoga achos yr anghenus a'r tlawd.
10Who can find a woman of worth? for her price is far above rubies.
10 Pwy a all ddod o hyd i wraig fedrus? Y mae hi'n fwy gwerthfawr na gemau.
11The heart of her husband confideth in her, and he shall have no lack of spoil.
11 Y mae calon ei gu373?r yn ymddiried ynddi, ac ni fydd pall ar ei henillion.
12She doeth him good, and not evil, all the days of her life.
12 Y mae'n gwneud daioni iddo yn hytrach na cholled, a hynny ar hyd ei hoes.
13She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
13 Y mae'n ceisio gwln a llin, ac yn cael pleser o weithio 'i dwylo.
14She is like the merchants' ships: she bringeth her food from afar;
14 Y mae, fel llongau masnachwr, yn dwyn ei hymborth o bell.
15And she riseth while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and the day's work to her maidens.
15 Y mae'n codi cyn iddi ddyddio, yn darparu bwyd i'w thylwyth, ac yn trefnu gorchwylion ei morynion.
16She considereth a field, and acquireth it; of the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
16 Ar l ystyried yn fanwl, y mae'n prynu maes, ac yn plannu gwinllan 'i henillion.
17She girdeth her loins with strength, and maketh strong her arms.
17 Y mae'n gwregysu ei llwynau nerth, ac yn dangos mor gryf yw ei breichiau.
18She perceiveth that her earning is good; her lamp goeth not out by night.
18 Y mae'n sicrhau bod ei busnes yn broffidiol, ac ni fydd ei lamp yn diffodd trwy'r nos.
19She putteth her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
19 Y mae'n gosod ei llaw ar y cogail, a'i dwylo'n gafael yn y werthyd.
20She stretcheth out her hand to the afflicted, and she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
20 Y mae'n estyn ei llaw i'r anghenus, a'i dwylo i'r tlawd.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
21 Nid yw'n pryderu am ei thylwyth pan ddaw eira, oherwydd byddant i gyd wedi eu dilladu'n glyd.
22She maketh herself coverlets; her clothing is byssus and purple.
22 Y mae'n gwneud cwrlidau iddi ei hun, ac y mae ei gwisg o liain main a phorffor.
23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
23 Y mae ei gu373?r yn adnabyddus yn y pyrth, pan yw'n eistedd gyda henuriaid yr ardal.
24She maketh body linen and selleth it, and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
24 Y mae'n gwneud gwisgoedd o liain ac yn eu gwerthu, ac yn darparu gwregysau i'r masnachwr.
25Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laugheth [at] the coming day.
25 Y mae wedi ei gwisgo nerth ac anrhydedd, ac yn wynebu'r dyfodol dan chwerthin.
26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and upon her tongue is the law of kindness.
26 Y mae'n siarad yn ddoeth, a cheir cyfarwyddyd caredig ar ei thafod.
27She surveyeth the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
27 Y mae'n cadw golwg ar yr hyn sy'n digwydd i'w theulu, ac nid yw'n bwyta bara segurdod.
28Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her:
28 Y mae ei phlant yn tyfu ac yn ei bendithio; a bydd ei gu373?r yn ei chanmol:
29Many daughters have done worthily, but thou excellest them all.
29 "Y mae llawer o ferched wedi gweithio'n fedrus, ond yr wyt ti'n rhagori arnynt i gyd."
30Gracefulness is deceitful and beauty is vain; a woman [that] feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised.
30 Y mae tegwch yn twyllo, a phrydferthwch yn darfod, ond y wraig sy'n ofni'r ARGLWYDD, y mae hon i'w chanmol.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.
31 Rhowch iddi o ffrwyth ei dwylo, a bydded i'w gwaith ei chanmol yn y pyrth.
