1{To the chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David.} In Jehovah have I put my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee [as] a bird to your mountain?
1Laulujuhatajale: Taaveti laul. Ma otsin pelgupaika Issanda juures. Kuidas te ütlete mu hingele: 'Põgene mägedele nagu lind!'
2For behold, the wicked bend the bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may in darkness shoot at the upright in heart.
2Sest vaata, õelad tõmbavad ammu vinna, nad asetavad nooled nöörile, et pimedas lasta siirameelsete pihta.
3If the foundations be destroyed, what shall the righteous do?
3Kui alussambad maha kistakse, mida siis õige saab teha?
4Jehovah [is] in the temple of his holiness; Jehovah, -- his throne is in the heavens: his eyes behold, his eyelids try the children of men.
4Issand on oma pühas templis, Issand, kelle aujärg on taevas; tema silmad näevad igale poole, ta pilgud katsuvad läbi inimlapsi.
5Jehovah trieth the righteous one; but the wicked, and him that loveth violence, his soul hateth.
5Issand katsub läbi õige, aga õelat ja vägivalla armastajat vihkab ta hing.
6Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone; and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
6Ta laseb sadada õelate peale süsi, tuld ja väävlit; ja kõrvetav tuul on nende karikaosa.
7For righteous is Jehovah; he loveth righteousness, his countenance doth behold the upright.
7Sest Issand on õiglane, ta armastab õiglust; õiged saavad näha ta palet.
