1{[A Psalm] of David.} Strive, O Jehovah, with them that strive with me; fight against them that fight against me:
1Taaveti laul. Võitle, Issand, nende vastu, kes minu vastu võitlevad; sõdi nende vastu, kes minu vastu sõdivad!
2Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help;
2Haara kätte kilp ja kaitsevari ning tõuse mulle abiks!
3And draw out the spear, and stop [the way] against my pursuers: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
3Paljasta piik ja tapper minu tagaajajate vastu; ütle mu hingele: 'Mina olen sinu pääste!'
4Let them be put to shame and confounded that seek after my life; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that devise my hurt:
4Häbenegu ja jäägu pilgata need, kes kipuvad mu hinge kallale; taganegu häbiga need, kes mõtlevad mulle kurja teha!
5Let them be as chaff before the wind, and let the angel of Jehovah drive [them] away;
5Olgu nad kui aganad tuule käes ja Issanda ingel paisaku nad maha!
6Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of Jehovah pursue them.
6Nende tee olgu pime ja libe ja Issanda ingel jälitagu neid!
7For without cause have they hidden for me their net [in] a pit; without cause they have digged [it] for my soul.
7Sest ilma põhjuseta on nad seadnud mulle oma varjatud võrgud, ilmaasjata on nad augu õõnestanud mu hingele.
8Let destruction come upon him unawares, and let his net which he hath hidden catch himself: for destruction let him fall therein.
8Hukatus tulgu talle kätte aimamata ja tema võrk, mille ta salajasse on pannud, püüdku kinni teda ennast; sattugu ta sellesse hukatuseks!
9And my soul shall be joyful in Jehovah; it shall rejoice in his salvation.
9Aga minu hing ilutsegu Issandas, ta rõõmustugu tema päästest!
10All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, who deliverest the afflicted from one stronger than he, yea, the afflicted and the needy from him that spoileth him!
10Kõik mu luud-liikmed öelgu: 'Issand, kes on sinu sarnane, kes tõmbad välja hädalise selle käest, kes temast on tugevam, ja viletsa ja vaese tema riisuja käest?'
11Unrighteous witnesses rise up; they lay to my charge things which I know not.
11Ülekohtused tunnistajad astuvad ette. Mida ma ei tea, seda nad küsivad minult.
12They reward me evil for good, [to] the bereavement of my soul.
12Nad tasuvad head kurjaga; mu hing on maha jäetud.
13But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I chastened my soul with fasting, and my prayer returned into mine own bosom:
13Aga minul, kui nemad olid haiged, oli kotiriie kuueks; ma kurnasin oma hinge paastumisega; siis tulgu nüüd mu palve nende eest tagasi mu põue!
14I behaved myself as though [he had been] a friend, a brother to me; I bowed down in sadness, as one that mourneth [for] a mother.
14Nagu sõbra, nagu venna pärast ma käisin kurvalt, ja nagu see, kes oma ema leinab, olin ma nukralt kummargil.
15But at my halting they rejoiced, and gathered together: the slanderers gathered themselves together against me, and I knew [it] not; they did tear [me], and ceased not:
15Aga kui mina vääratasin, rõõmutsesid nad ja tulid kokku; nad tulid kokku minu vastu, need lööjad, keda ma ei tundnud; nad laimasid ega lõpetanud;
16With profane jesters for bread, they have gnashed their teeth against me.
16nad pilkasid mind ega jäänud vait, nad kiristasid hambaid mu peale.
17Lord, how long wilt thou look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, my only one from the young lions.
17Issand, kui kaua sa vaatad seda? Too välja mu hing nende laastamisest, mu ainuke noorte lõvide käest!
18I will give thee thanks in the great congregation; I will praise thee among much people.
18Siis ma tänan sind suures koguduses ja kiidan sind hulga rahva seas.
19Let not them that are wrongfully mine enemies rejoice over me; let them not wink with the eye that hate me without cause.
19Ärgu minust rõõmustugu need, kes põhjuseta on mu vaenlased; ja kes mind asjata vihkavad, ärgu pilgutagu silmi!
20For they speak not peace; and they devise deceitful words against the quiet in the land.
20Sest nemad ei räägi, mis rahu toob, vaid mõtlevad petlikke asju nende vastu, kes vaikselt elavad maa peal.
21And they opened their mouth wide against me; they said, Aha! aha! our eye hath seen [it].
21Nad ajasid suu ammuli mu vastu ja ütlesid: 'Paras, paras! Me näeme oma silmaga!'
22Thou hast seen [it], Jehovah: keep not silence; O Lord, be not far from me.
22Sina, Issand, näed seda, ära ole vait! Issand, ära ole minust kaugel!
23Stir up thyself, and awake for my right, for my cause, my God and Lord!
23Ärka ja virgu, mu Jumal ja mu Issand, mõistma minule õiglast kohut ja ajama mu riiuasja!
24Judge me, Jehovah my God, according to thy righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me.
24Mõista mulle kohut oma õiglust mööda, Issand, mu Jumal! Ära lase neil rõõmutseda minust!
25Let them not say in their heart, Aha! so would we have it. Let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
25Ärgu nad öelgu oma südames: 'Paras! Seda meie hing tahtis!' Ärgu nad öelgu: 'Me oleme ta ära neelanud!'
26Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine adversity; let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.
26Häbenegu ja kohmetugu ühtlasi need, kes rõõmustavad mu õnnetusest; saagu häbi ja teotus riietuseks neile, kes suurustavad mu vastu!
27Let them exult and rejoice that delight in my righteousness; and let them say continually, Jehovah be magnified, who delighteth in the prosperity of his servant.
27Hõisaku ja rõõmutsegu need, kellel on hea meel minu õigusest, ning öelgu alati: 'Olgu kõrgesti ülistatud Issand, kellele meeldib oma sulase hea käekäik!'
28And my tongue shall talk of thy righteousness, [and] of thy praise, all the day.
28Ja mu keel kõnelgu sinu õiglusest ja kiitku sind päevast päeva!
