¹{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Hear, O God, my voice in my plaint; preserve my life from fear of the enemy:

¹Laulujuhatajale: Taaveti laul.

²Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, from the tumultuous crowd of the workers of iniquity,

²Kuule, Jumal, mu häält, kui ma kaeblen, hoia mu elu vaenlase hirmu eest!

³Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, [and] have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;

³Pane mind varjule tigedate salanõu eest, nende möllu eest, kes teevad nurjatust,

⁴That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

⁴kes oma keelt ihuvad nagu mõõka, sihivad kibedaid sõnu nagu nooli,

⁵They encourage themselves in an evil matter, they concert to hide snares; they say, Who will see them?

⁵et salajas maha lasta laitmatu! Äkitselt nad lasevadki ta maha ega karda midagi.

⁶They devise iniquities: We have it ready, the plan is diligently sought out. And each one's inward [thought] and heart is deep.

⁶Neid kinnitatakse kurjades kavatsustes, nad õhutavad üksteist salajasi võrke panema, nad ütlevad: 'Kes meid näeb?'

⁷But God will shoot an arrow at them: suddenly are they wounded;

⁷Nemad mõtlevad jultunud tegudele: 'Me oleme valmis, kava on hästi kavatsetud!' Sest sügav on mehe sisemus ning süda.

⁸By their own tongue they are made to fall over one another: all that see them shall flee away.

⁸Kuid Jumal laseb nad maha, neid haavatakse äkilise noolega.

⁹And all men shall fear, and shall declare God's doing; and they shall wisely consider his work.

⁹Ta paneb nad komistama nende keele pärast, kõik, kes neid näevad, vangutavad pead.

¹⁰The righteous shall rejoice in Jehovah, and trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

¹⁰Ja kõik inimesed hakkavad kartma ja kuulutama Jumala tööd ning aru saama tema tegudest.

¹¹Õige rõõmustab Issandas ja otsib pelgupaika tema juures; ja kõik hõiskavad, kes on õiglased südamelt.
